WWE has been teasing a split between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville on television as of late. It turns out that this wasn’t the first time that they had planned to break up the tag team known as Fire & Desire.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio the team was originally going to split up earlier this year before WrestleMania 35. However, WWE dropped those plans.
Over the last few weeks, WWE has been dropping hints at the break up while also starting a storyline with Rose and Otis.
Rose didn’t go out to the ring for Deville’s match last week on SmackDown after she gave Otis a ham and was covered in his sweat.
This week’s episode of SmackDown in Detroit, Michigan at Little Caesars Arena on FOX saw Sonya Deville staying backstage prior to Rose’s match on the show. WWE also furthered the storyline with Otis and Rose when Otis gave Rose a fruit cake that was homemade. There’s no word yet on when the exact split between Rose and Eville will happen.
