Real Reason Behind Dio Maddin’s Exit From RAW Broadcast Team

Vince McMahon Behind Dio Maddin’s Exit From RAW Broadcast Team?

As noted, Dio Maddin will no longer be doing RAW commentary and he will go back to the Performance Center as he looks to continue his wrestling career.

There appears to be more to the story behind Maddin’s exit from the RAW broadcast table. It is true that Maddin wants to wrestle but what actually happened was that Vince McMahon did not like his commentary work, according to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live.

Alvarez said, “I don’t know if Dio Maddin himself is gonna get mad but I’m sure we’ll hear that this is not accurate but this is what happened.” He continued, “Vince and Kevin Dunn didn’t like Dio Maddin on commentary and they took him off commentary and I think they were gonna try to re-train him or whatever to do commentary but now I guess he’s decided he wants to be a wrestler again.”

Alvarez added, “I’m sure the official story is going to be that he just decided while doing commentary that he wanted to be a wrestler…”

Alvarez said he personally thought that Maddin was fine, especially for someone with limited experience. He was brought up to RAW at Paul Heyman’s request. There’s no word yet on who will be moved into Maddin’s slot after Samoa Joe gets cleared to wrestle. The belief is that Joe should be cleared in a couple of weeks so, unless McMahon wants a two-man team, we may see someone new sitting next to Vic Joseph and Jerry Lawler in a couple of weeks.
