On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT, Tony Schiavone interviewed Cody Rhodes. Rhodes promised that he would make the major announcement that was originally planned a couple of weeks ago.
Rhodes said he was not surprised by The Inner Circle’s actions of late. He mentioned his father Dusty Rhodes, Bill Watts and Eddie Graham and said that they were management while wrestling at the same time.
Rhodes said he has heard the critics who say he’s getting a title shot because he is part of management. He announced that if he does not defeat Chris Jericho on Saturday night at Full Gear then he will never challenge for the AEW World Championship again.
Rhodes went on to call Jericho a “stupid d*ck” that had a silver spoon in his mouth. Rhodes said the dirty secret is that Jericho needs this generation more than it needs him. Rhodes got emotional about his family and talking about the 14 years it took for him to get to this point.
Rhodes said “we are going to eat you alive!” this Saturday night at AEW Full Gear on pay-per-view.
