Edge took to Twitter with a tweet that seems to shut down the story that made the rounds earlier from the @FightOracle insider news account.
@FightOracle’s story mentions two things. The first says Edge is medically cleared to return to the ring. The other point in their story says he is under contract with WWE.
Edge’s tweet: “No I’m not and no I’m not.”
For what it’s worth, Dave Meltzer reported on Thursday that Edge got a new deal “by negotiating with both sides.” Presumably, the other side was All Elite Wrestling. No word what he would be doing with WWE if he has signed a deal. It’s possible that he signed a deal with FOX to work on the Backstage show that premieres on Fox Sports 1 next month since he was one of several big names who auditioned.
Meltzer added that he didn’t know if Edge could get clearance and people on creative were under the impression that he would not wrestle again even though there have been private talks about him wrestling again.
