Cain Velasquez made a shocking appearance on tonight’s FOX debut of SmackDown, and his message is simple—he’s here for payback.
Velasquez showed up with Rey Mysterio at the conclusion of tonight’s show, confronting Brock Lesnar after ‘The Beast Incarnate’ beat Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship. In the video seen below, Velasquez says he’s “here because Brock knows what he did. It wasn’t right and I saw it, so I’m here to get some payback.”
Rey said his son, Dominic, got beat down at the hands of Brock, but he’s ‘la raza’ with Cain, and la familia is what matters at the end of the day.
Despite appearing on SmackDown, Cain Velasquez isn’t a WWE superstar. ESPN reports that Velasquez is closing in on a deal but nothing has been officially signed yet. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion isn’t retired from fighting just yet, but he told the outlet that wrestling is his focus for now.
ESPN’s Marc Raimondi notes that “Velasquez has not officially put pen to paper with WWE, but they’re getting there. Him showing up tonight on SmackDown came together in the last 24 hours or so. The UFC was aware he’d be doing this appearance and gave the OK.”
