We reported earlier today about Dave Meltzer suggesting that WWE was had made contact with Enzo Amore & Big Cass about a possible return to the company.
Specifically, Meltzer noted that WWE wants Enzo & Cass for NXT as that brand prepares to launch their weekly TV show next month. Meltzer cautioned that talks were ongoing but that nothing had been agreed upon, noting that Vince McMahon was looking for a “surprise” for NXT either for the debut show or more likely, the show going head-to-head against AEW’s launch.
For what it’s worth, Mike Johnson from PW Insider is now reporting that he’s asked around about this rumor, and WWE has flat-our denied it is true.
In speaking to WWE officials today, we are told there is no basis on the story and that there have been zero discussions between the two sides.
