LAX (Santana & Ortiz) have announced that the match against Rich Swann and Willie Mack was their last for Impact Wrestling.
After the match, members of the Impact locker room even came out to the ring to say goodbye to them.
Below is the following statement from LAX:
“Last night we wrestled our final match with Impact Wrestling. Our appreciation and gratitude for every single person there who had a hand in helping us get to this point, is absolutely endless. Thank you for the opportunity to show the world our passion and commitment for this business. And most of all, for the opportunity to represent our people and culture on a big stage. We are forever grateful.”

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that LAX is likely going to AEW. Not only would they probably do better initially in terms of monetary amount, but working with AEW would still permit them to compete in PWG and AAA. However, the indies are off the table as with all AEW stars.
“Impact made deals with everyone that anyone who has a gimmick there they can take and go elsewhere.”
“I don’t think they’re going to WWE because they’re starting with AAA at next taping — September 8th — so that leads me to believe the odds are they’re going to AEW and I know that was the direction they were leaning because the could still do the PWGs and AAA. They wouldn’t be able to do indies though because once AEW gets going those guys aren’t allowed to do indies.”
“I know they were leaning toward AEW. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are Jericho’s mystery partners… we’ll see.”
The point was also made that if you’re a tag team then AEW should be the logical destination. Because LAX would likely be going to NXT first if they signed with WWE and then it’s anyone guess whether WWE would break them up or change their gimmick entirely.
