Josh Mathews and Don Callis welcome fans to a new episode of Impact Wrestling. Tonight’s episode is the first taped show from Mexico City, Mexico.
Up first, is a fatal 4-way X-Division style match.
TJP vs. Golden Magic vs. Trey vs. Taurus
Bell rings, and both Magic and Taurus go after each other. Trey flies off the top rope then hangs near the corner of the ring to keep away from TJP’s kicks. TJP goes back again towards Trey, and Trey puts his hands up to block what could’ve been a kick or hit. Two pair of cutters comes from Magic. TJP sits on the top rope… Magic hurricanranas TJP, who lands right on Trey. The audience applauds their performance. Taurus comes back in and takes all three men down.
Taurus double suplexes TJP and Magic. Trey comes in and jumps on the back of Taurus. Trey follows it with a double kick. The fans begin to chant “This is Lucha.” Magic lands a corkscrew press onto Trey. He goes for the cover and Taurus breaks the pin. Taurus picks up Magic for a backbreaker. TJP comes in with a tornado DDT. He lifts Trey, who lands on the second rope. Trey slips out after TJP climbs up to take him off the top rope. Trey reverses it with a 619. Magic climbs up the ropes to go after Trey… Trey reverses it. TJP gets Trey with a GTS. Magic lands a perfect 450 on Trey… goes for the cover… and picks up the win.
Winner: Golden Magic
Backstage: Kiera Hogan gets quite bossy at Chica Tormenta for sitting in her seat. Other Knockouts come in to break up the fight including Jordynne Grace. Madison Rayne comes in and says that the best way for everyone to settle this is by having a tag team match tonight.
Back from the break: Michael Elgin cuts a promo saying that tonight Rhino better understand what will happen to him tonight in their Falls Count Everywhere match.
Next, is the second match of the night and it’s a tag team match.
Rascalz (Dez and Wentz) vs. Rich Swann and Willie Mack
Mack and Wentz begin the match. Mack puts Wentz in an arm lock. Wentz flips out of the lock. Both men exchange a few aerial tricks before they both tag in their partners. Swann goes for a cutter. All four men are all standing in the ring before its cut to a commercial break.
Coming back from the break, Dez leads the match against Swann. Dez jumps out of the ring and tags in Wentz. Wentz then takes over. He picks up Swann and slams him into his corner where he tags in Dez. Wentz goes for a shooting star press, Dez follows, but Swann rolls out of the way and tags in Mack. Mack and Swann work together to land a big takedown on Dez. Dez gets up and fights back both men. Mack smacks Dez right in the jaw, causing him to lose his balance. Wentz comes back into the ring and sneak attacks Mack. He goes for the cover and Mack kicks out at 2.
Swann tackles Dez into the corner and Mack follows it up with a six-star frog splash. Mack goes for the cover and 1-2-3, Mack and Swann win the tag match.
Winners: Willie Mack and Rich Swann
Post-Match: All four men hug and raise each other’s hands.
At Ken Shamrock’s house: Shamrock talks about his long-reigning career and the championships he has won both in wrestling and in the MMA. He goes on to say that Moose certainly has his attention, and that he’ll be in Las Vegas on September 5-6th to call out Moose.
Backstage at Impact: Melissa Santos asks Moose what his response is to what Shamrock just said. Moose says that Shamrock does not scare him. Instead, he is an “attention whore.” Fallah Bahh comes in during his interview. Moose calls him names. Bahh ends the interview by saying that he wants another match with Moose.
Right before the episode comes back on air, an announcement ad pops up saying that Johnny Swinger will be debuting soon on Impact.
After the commercial break, Santos interviews Taya Valkyrie and John E. Bravo. Bravo is holding up a sign that says “236,” the number of days she has been the Knockout’s Champion. She says that tonight after she puts out an open challenge match, she will retain the title and go celebrate being the longest Knockout’s champion with her husband, and her dog.
At the Deaner’s Compound: The Desi Hit Squad are having quite a hard time getting used to the country life. The Deaner’s nitpick everything they do, but then they decide to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Next, a video package is shown of what has been happening within the past couple of weeks between Havok and Su Yung, which will lead up to a one-on-one match between the two of them next week.
Back from the break, the rivalry between Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard is shown. After the package video, Callihan is all alone sending a message to Blanchard that he is done with both her and Tommy Dreamer, but they just don’t seem to go away, and it pisses him off. He says that Impact Management needs to do their job and let him have a match with Brian Cage. He threatens that they have one week to make this match happen, regardless if Cage is injured or not. If he doesn’t get his wish, oVe is going to take over and create chaos.
Back to the action, Valkyrie makes her way down to the ring with Bravo by her side to do her open challenge match for the Knockout’s Championship. Big Mami makes her way down to the ring after Valkyrie announces who will be her challenger.
Taya Valkyrie (c) vs. Big Mami for the Impact Knockout’s Championship
Bell rings, and Valkyrie keeps gesturing for Mami to move out of her way. Valkyrie goes in for the attack and Mami bends out of the way. Valkyrie is not pleased with that, so she kicks her in the back and keeps stomping on her while she’s down. Mami gets up and Valkyrie puts Mami in the corner and throws several forearms and elbows. Mami reverses it by dropping Valkyrie down on the mat. She goes to the opposite corner and runs right into her. Mami now climbs up the second rope and is about land down on Valkyrie, but Valkyrie moves out of the way. With Mami down, Valkyrie takes advantage with a submission. Mami taps out and Valkyrie retains her championship.
Winner and Still Knockout’s Champion: Taya Valkyrie
Post-Match: After Valkyrie grabs a microphone and says she’s the best women’s champion, Tenille Dashwood’s music begins to play and she makes her way down to the ring. Valkyrie laughs at her and calls her an A-hole. Dashwood wastes no time and goes right on to attack Valkyrie. Bravo comes into the ring to help Valkyrie, but he too gets ambushed by Dashwood. Valkyrie leaves her title in the ring and Dashwood picks it up and holds it proudly.
Up next, is the fourth match of the night and it’s a Knockout’s tag team match.
Kiera Hogan and Vanilla Vargas (w/Madison Rayne) vs. Jordynne Grace and Chik Tormenta
Vanilla and Tormenta begin the match. Tormenta goes for a kick, then a suplex. Tormenta goes for the cover and Vanilla kicks out. Vanilla tags in Hogan. Hogan takes the lead at first, but gets a reverse kick from Tormenta. Rayne pulls Grace off the apron right when Tormenta was about to tag in Grace. Rayne starts attacking Grace. The bell rings due to a disqualification. All the women are now attacking one another. Rosemary makes her way down the ramp and goes right for Rayne. Rayne is quite scared and runs out of the ring quickly.
The announcer announces that he has been informed that the match has now become a trios match.
It will be Kiera Hogan, Vanilla Vargas, and Madison Rayne vs. Jordynne Grace, Chik Tormenta, and Rosemary
Back from the break, Rayne and Rosemary are now in the ring. Rosemary grabs Rayne and pushes her into the corner of the ring. She goes in to do a running attack, and Rayne puts her leg up to reverse it. Rayne tags in Hogan. Hogan goes for a tilt-a-whirl headscissors and it gets countered by a slam from Rosemary. Rosemary tags in Grace. Both Grace and Hogan go for back and forth pins. Grace tags in Tormenta and Hogan tags in Vanilla. Tormenta counters Vanilla’s kick and slams her down…she goes for the pin and Vanilla kicks out.
Vanilla lands a big elbow on Tormenta…goes for the cover… Tormenta kicks out. Both women get back up and clothesline one another. Vanilla goes over to tag in one of her partners. Hogan and Rayne get off the apron and run away, since Tormenta tagged in Rosemary. Vanilla is all alone in the ring with Rosemary. Rosemary plants Vanilla and goes for the cover. She picks up the win for her team.
Winners: Rosemary, Jordynne Grace, and Chik Tormenta
After the match, the Impact Plus Moment of the Week is shown.
On the beach: Ace Austin is doing his workouts and Alisha Edwards comes to see him. She asks Austin why he wanted her to meet him down at the beach. He is about to tell her why, then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, two robbers run in and take Alisha’s purse. Austin follows the one who has her purse into the ocean. The camera goes into slow-motion, showing Austin getting out of the water in a Baywatch type of way. He brings Alisha’s purse back to her. She thanks him and tells him she has to go. This leads into a commercial break.
After the little show on the beach, Reno Scum reveal themselves as the staged robbers.
Backstage: LAX are hanging out and The North comes over and interrupts their discussion. Konnan gets in both Josh Alexander and Ethan Page’s faces saying that LAX were the best Impact tag team champions and The North has nothing on them. LAX backs up Konnan’s statement by challenging The North to a career versus titles match.
The main event for the night is underway!
Michael Elgin vs. Rhino in a Falls Count Anywhere Match
Rhino doesn’t get a chance to fully make his way down the ramp before the match begins. Elgin chest chops Rhino…Rhino counters it. Rhino slams Elgin’s back into the apron. Rhino goes for the cover and Elgin kicks out. Elgin gets up and slams Rhino right into the ring post. Both men make their way back into the ring. Elgin belly flops right onto Rhino from the outside. Rhino gets up and tackles Elgin into the corner of the ring. Elgin reverses it with a takedown. Both men are now on the outside. Rhino and Elgin are trading chops back and forth. The match continues right after the break.
Back from the final break, Rhino is grabbing a chair from underneath the ring. Elgin attacks and grabs the chair for himself. Elgin sits Rhino down and goes for a few punches and chest chops. Elgin climbs back up on the apron and goes for a running clothesline onto Rhino. Now both men are out on the floor where the fans are sitting. Elgin and Rhino hit back and forth chest chops. Now, both men have climbed up to the second level where fans are sitting. Rhino is trading shots…Elgin fires back with a headbutt. The audience in unison are chanting “Rhino, Rhino.” Rhino takes someone’s backpack and smacks Elgin in the face with it.
Rhino is trying to lift Elgin and Elgin is holding strong. Elgin goes for a smashing headbutt. Both men are now back on the floor and are heading back to the outside of the ring. Elgin goes face-first into the guard rail. Now on the ramp, Elgin lands a clothesline. Elgin goes for the cover and Rhino kicks out. Rhino gets right back up and Elgin throws a hard elbow. Rhino suplexes Elgin…goes for the cover…Elgin kicks out. Elgin gets up and superkicks Rhino.
Elgin sends Rhino back into the ring. Elgin sets up a table in the corner. He then grabs a chair and drives it right into the spine of Rhino. Elgin puts the chair on Rhino. He runs back and forth on the ropes to plant Rhino and Rhino counters moving the chair so it lands right in between Elgin’s legs. Rhino gets up and is about to spear Elgin. Elgin side steps and Rhino lands right into the table. Elgin goes for the Elgin Bomb… pins Rhino… and wins.
Winner: Michael Elgin
Next week, LAX will take on The North in a career vs. title match. Sami Callihan will get his answer from Impact Management on whether or not he will get a chance to fight Brian Cage for the Impact World Championship. The two women of darkness Su Yung and Havok will duke it out, and so much more.
