A Lot of WWE Talent Are Reportedly Reaching Out To AEW

As noted, there are many unhappy wrestlers in WWE and many of them do not plan on renewing their contracts when their deals expire.

There are some WWE wrestlers who are happy with their spot in the company but AEW’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view really changed things for even more wrestlers and even some of the wrestlers that had no plans of leaving are now considering their options.

Dave Meltzer discussed this on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.

“I heard that there are people counting the days there,” Meltzer said. “A lot of people are counting the days.”

This is not new but Meltzer noted how the first AEW pay-per-view opened some people’s eyes. He said, “AEW coming in and doing a really successful show has changed everything.”

I talked to two WWE wrestlers this week and both of them told me that they plan on leaving next year when their contracts expire. I was also told that there’s at least one wrestler who signed a new deal and now regrets it.

The report continued WWE is definitely offering up more money to keep people around, but some within the company feel miserable and money isn’t necessarily enough to keep them around.

The wrestling business is changing and expect more changes in October when WWE SmackDown moves to FOX and when AEW’s weekly show debuts on TNT.
