WWE officials have decided to give EC3 a reboot in the way of having Drake Maverick be his manager.
EC3 walked down to the with 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick to work a dark match before this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center on the USA Network. He lost to former SmackDown Tag Team Champion Luke Harper in a singles match.
For those who may not remember, Maverick was a manager for EC3 while going under the name Rockstar Spud during their time in TNA Wrestling. They are also good friends outside of the ring.
After having a successful run in TNA Wrestling, he made the jump to WWE. This is where he signed and was placed in NXT in January 2018. After several months working on the yellow brand, in December WWE officials made the call that it was the right time for him to be placed on the main roster by working on the flagship show of the company, Monday Night Raw.
Ever since then, WWE hasn’t done much with him. Instead, he’s been used in backstage segments and working Main Event TV tapings, which is considered a lesser show than Raw or SmackDown Live.
