WWE 205 Live Results - April 16, 2019

Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese welcomes everyone to 205 Live.

 He says he did the impossible and sent shock waves through all of 205 Live by winning the Cruiserweight Championship at Wrestlemania. He proved it was not a fluke two nights later when he beat Buddy again. Tony says he would like to sit back and enjoy his childhood dream. It is a new era in 205 Live and he will be a fighting champion. He says it is time to find his next challenger. Will it be Drew Gulak, Kalisto, or Akira Tozawa? Will it be someone he has not faced before?

We are in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and your announcers are Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, and Aiden English.

Drake Maverick is at ringside with the announce team. Vic mentions Cedric Alexander’s match and he asks if this is his last match on 205 Live. Drake says if this is his last match on 205 Live, he wants to thank Cedric for all he has done.

The Lucha House Party comes out and they want to know who is ready for the Lucha House Party. Lince says Gran Metalik is going to tear the house down tonight.

Gran Metalik versus Ariya Daviari versus Mike Kanellis (with Maria Kanellis) versus Akira Tozawa

Daivari goes to the floor to watch the other three men. Tozawa and Metalik go after Kanellis and kick him and hit a double drop kick. Metalik with a handspring flip followed by a slingshot arm drag. Tozawa with a kick and a head scissors from the turnbuckles. Daivari with a clothesline to Tozawa to stop a dive to the floor. Metalik with a springboard drop kick to Daivari. Kanellis with chops to Metalik but Metalik with an Irish whip and he is sent to the apron. Metalik with a cross body to Kanellis and Daivari. Tozawa with an octopus and Kanellis and Daviari break it up.

Kanellis punches Metalik while Daivari chokes Tozawa. Daivari sends Tozawa into the turnbuckles and Kanellis with a suplex to Metalik. Kanellis with another suplex and Daivari punches Metalik. Kanellis punches Metalik from the floor. Kanellis with a spinebuster to Metalik. Daivari holds Tozawa and Kanellis misses a super kick and Kanellis kicks Daivari. Tozawa with punches. Kanellis with a back elbow. Kanellis with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Daivari and Kanellis argue on the floor and push each other. Daivari lets Kanellis get back into the ring but Daivari hits Kanellis from behind and power bombs Kanellis to the floor. Daivari goes for a hammer lock short arm clothesline but Tozawa with a kick for a near fall.

Tozawa with a back heel kick and Metalik lands on his feet on a German suplex attempt. Metalik with a kick and slingblade bulldog for a near fall. Kanellis tries to get Tozawa on his shoulders but Tozawa fights him off and Tozawa with a head scissors and shining wizard. Tozawa goes to the turnbuckles for a missile drop kick. Metalik with a springboard senton and Daivari with a splash to Metalik for a near fall.

All four men are down and Daivari is the first to his feet. Daivari sends Metalik into the corner and Metalik with an IRish whip and Daivari goes to the apron. Daivari with a shoulder but Metalik with a kick and a rana that sends Daivari off the apron onto Kanellis. Tozawa follows with a suicide dive head butt to Metalik. Tozawa and Kanellis return to the ring and Tozawa goes for a German suplex but Kanellis holds on to the ropes and then he connects with an elbow to the head. Kanellis with a chop and Tozawa chops back. They go back and forth and Tozawa throws the mouthpiece down and gets Kanellis to cover up so Tozawa with a punch. Kanellis with a kick and Tozawa with a German suplex. Maria distracts Tozawa on the turnbuckles and Kanellis with a punch.

Kanellis with chops on the turnbuckles. Kanellis sets for a superplex but Tozawa knocks Kanellis off with a forearm. Tozawa goes for the back senton but Kanellis gets his knees up and Kanellis with a swinging reverse neck breaker. Metalik breaks up the cover. Kanellis sends Metalik to the floor and Daivari sends Kanellis to the floor and gets the three count on Tozawa.

Winner: Ariya Daivari

We see Oney Lorcan in the back and he says since the Cruiserweight Division has been recreated, Cedric Alexander has been the anchor of the division. Everything comes to an end. Oney says he wants to lead this division into the future. If he cannot beat Cedric, he is not worthy to be the leader.

Cedric Alexander says it is a huge opportunity to go to Raw. He can build his legacy and that is what he is proud of. No matter what he does going forward, he will remember what he did to build 205 Live. He told Oney he could lead this division one day and Oney thinks that today is that day. Cedric says he is not going down without a fight.

We go to commercial.

We are back and next week, Drew Gulak faces Humberto Carrillo.

Cedric Alexander versus Oney Lorcan

They lock up and Oney with a wrist lock. Cedric with a single leg take down and he works on the leg. Lorcan with a waist lock and Alexander with a front face lock. Lorcan teases a chop. They go for a test of strength and Lorcan with a side head lock take down. Lorcan holds on when Alexander tries to send Lorcan off the ropes. Lorcan holds on to the side head lock. Lorcan with a shoulder tackle and he chops Alexander when Alexander goes for a leap frog and Lorcan stops short. Lorcan with a hard Irish whip for a near fall.

Alexander with the handstand head scissors followed by a drop kick and drop kicks to the knees. Lorcan with a chop but Alexander with a chop of his own. Alexander with an enzuigiri to send Lorcan to the floor. Alexander kicks Lorcan away from the ropes and he goes for a suicide dive but Lorcan is able to move out of the way and send Alexander into the ringside barrier. Lorcan sends Alexander into the apron and then they go back into the ring and Lorcan gets a near fall.

Lorcan with a chop. Lorcan with an Irish whip and clothesline into the corner. Lorcan with another Irish whip and clothesline into the corner for a near fall. Lorcan with a waist lock. Alexander blocks a half and half suplex and Alexander with a kick. Alexander with an elbow and chop. Lorcan with a knee to the midsection for a near fall. Lorcan with a waist lock. Alexander with elbows to get out of the hold. Lorcan with a kick and Alexander with a knee and a drop kick to the back of the head. Alexander with clotheslines and a back elbow. Alexander with an enzuigiri from the apron followed by a springboard flatliner for a near fall.

Alexander with a chop but Lorcan chops back. Lorcan with a back elbow and Lorcan misses a shoulder from the turnbuckles. Alexander with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Lorcan with an elbow but Alexander with kicks and a forearm followed by a European uppercut. Alexander with a kick and he sets for the Neuralizer but Lorcan with a flying European uppercut followed by a running Blockbuste. Lorcan with a running European uppercut for a near fall.

Lorcan tries for the half and half suplex but Alexander with elbows. Lorcan with a forearm to the hamstring and Lorcan with a power bomb for a near fall. Lorcan with a single leg crab. Alexander tries to get to the ropes and Lorcan pulls him into the center of the ring, but Alexander is able to get to the ropes. Lorcan with chops. Lorcan puts Alexander on the turnbuckles. Lorcan sets for a half and half superplex but Alexander holds on to the ring post and turnbuckle. Alexander with elbows and Lorcan falls on the ropes before going to the floor. Alexander with a plancha onto Lorcan.

Alexander goes to the apron and goes for a springboard move but Lorcan with a European uppercut to stop Alexander. They go to the apron and Alexander with a forearm and Lorcan wtih a chop. Alexander with a chop and Lorcan grabs the beard and slaps Alexander and Alexander crumples on the apron. Alexander wtih slaps to Lorcan followed by boots. Lorcan blocks a kick and hits a half and half suplex on the apron. Lorcan with a clothesline when they return to the ring followed by a half and half suplex for the three count.

Winner: Oney Lorcan
