As noted, Jim Ross told New York’s WFAN that All Elite Wrestling’s weekly TV show will debut in October on a major cable network.
On Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed what Ross said and added that it would be a two-hour live broadcast. However, as of Saturday, the deal has not been signed but given that they have a debut date, that would strongly indicate that most of the terms have been agreed to.
AEW was negotiating with two major cable networks and both parties were interested in having AEW as a streaming property for big events like Double Or Nothing. Meltzer noted that both networks have existing streaming services and the ability to sell pay-per-views which would be a key component of the deal. UFC, for example, has moved their pay-per-views to ESPN+.
Meltzer also said that it would be easier to narrow things down on what network they will be on by May 25th. Presumably, this means Double Or Nothing will air on the streaming service of the cable network they are signing with so we could know more within a few weeks.
Meltzer also noted that AEW is also working on an international deal that would be “pretty significant” if things work out as planned.
