Rusev Ties Interesting WWE Record With Fastlane Loss

WWE Rusev
As seen at WWE Fastlane last night, Xavier Woods and Big E beat Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura in a tag team match. As a result of that loss, Rusev has now tied a WWE record.

According to ESPN, Rusev has tied the record for the longest pay-per-view losing streak in WWE history as he has 17 straight PPV matches, which ties him with the Great Khali.

“Rusev’s loss on the WWE Fastlane kickoff show was his 17th straight PPV loss. According to ESPN Stats and Info, that ties the Great Khali for the longest PPV losing streak in WWE history.”

Rusev, who trolls on Twitter with the best of them, tweeted a response to the stat this afternoon. He joked, "Knowing how things are they probably won't even let me be number 1!!!"

Although he has won some matches on SmackDown Live, his last win on PPV came back at Roadblock: End of the Road in 2016 where he defeated Big Cass via count-out.

It appears that WWE is going in the direction of furthering a program that will see Rusev and Nakamura feud with The New Day. Perhaps a match that could take place on the WrestleMania 35 Kickoff Show might be in their future.
