WWE Implementing New Tag Team Rules, Dawson & Wilder Explain Things

WWE Implementing New Tag Team Rules, Dawson & Wilder Explain

There are signs of WWE putting more of a focus on tag team wrestling. This could be brought to light because AEW plans on doing the same thing and WWE doesn’t want to lose tag teams to All Elite Wrestling.

This past Monday, RAW saw a rather interesting main event match where Baron Corbin was hit by Braun Strowman who wasn’t the legal man. Since Corbin was the legal man, the referee called for the bell and the match was ruled a DQ.

Corey Graves also said on commentary recently that each team gets one save during a match. Therefore, if an illegal partner is breaking up a pinfall attempt then he can only do it once. However, he must leave the ring right after or risk being disqualified.

To clear these “new” rules up, Dash Wilder of The Revival explained things.

“Illegal guy can hit illegal guy.

Legal can hit legal.

Legal can hit illegal.

But illegal can’t just come in and punch the legal.”

Scott Dawson had to add a couple of finer points.

…and don’t even get us started on a legal, physical tag!

Both feet on the APRON. (Not the bottom rope)

Tag your partner from the WAIST UP. (Not the foot)

Hold the damn tag rope!

It’s simple, really.

It’s really that simple. We will just have to wait and see how long WWE will keep up the enforcement of these rules.
