We begin with a graphic In Memory of Gene Okerlund.

Drake Maverick welcomes everyone to this week’s show and he will have an announcement later about the future of 205 Live in 2019.  Buddy Murphy will face three opponents at the Royal Rumble.  Two opponents will be determined tonight.  Kalisto faces Lio Rush in one match.  In the main event, Akira Tozawa faces Drew Gulak.

We are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and your announcers are Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson.

Match Number One:  Kalisto (with Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik) vs. Lio Rush to Determine Who Enters the Fatal Four Way Match at Royal Rumble

Lio has some words for Kalisto and Kalisto turns Lio’s attention to the crowd’s chants.  Rush has a kick blocked and Kalisto flips Rush over and Rush misses a cross body.  Kalisto walks on his hands and does a few back handsprings to force Rush to the floor.  We see Tony Nese and Buddy Murphy watching in the back.  Rush has another kick blocked but he slaps Kalisto.  Rush goes to the floor and Rush swings around the ring post and into the ropes to avoid Kalisto.  Kalisto with a rollup into a Listo Kick.  Kalisto with a drop kick and kick to the leg.

Kalisto goes to the apron but Rush knocks Kalisto off the apron to the floor and then he hits a suicide dive.  They return to the ring and Rush kicks Kalisto.  Rush with a suplex and a corkscrew back elbow to the back for a near fall.  Rush with a rear chin lock and he puts his knee in Kalisto’s back.  Kalisto punches Rush and rolls Rush up and gets a near fall.  Rush with a clothesline and he punches Kalisto.  Rush gets a near fall.   Rush with a crossface and he sends Kalisto to the floor and Rush relaxes in the corner.

Kalisto returns to the ring and Rush with a kick.  Rush with a punch to the midsection and a chop.  Kalisto with chops but Rush with a flying back elbow.  Rush gets a near fall.  Rush with a top wrist lock into a chin lock using Kalisto’s arm.  Kalisto with kicks and punches.  Rush with forearms and strikes to Kalisto.  Kalisto sends Rush to the apron and hits an enzuigiri.  Kalisto with a springboard senton onto Rush on the floor.   They return to the ring and Rush with a spinning heel kick and a round kick to the head.  Rush goes up top and Kalisto kicks Rush to stop him.  They fight on the turnbuckles and Rush with a head butt and forearms.  Kalisto is sent to the mat but Kalisto with an enzuigiri to stagger Rush.  Kalisto with a fallaway power slam off the turnbuckles for a near fall.

Kalisto sets for Salida del Sol but Rush blocks it and hits the spinning Unprettier for a near fall.  Rush punches Kalisto but Kalisto punches back.  Kalisto with a springboard corkscrew splash.  Kalisto with kicks but Rush with a running bicycle kick.  Kalisto with a spinning heel kick but Rush drops Kalisto on the top rope and Kalisto falls to the floor.  The referee makes his count but Kalisto powers up to get back into the ring at the last moment.   Rush goes up top for the frog splash but Dorado and Metalik distract Rush and Rush goes back up top and he kicks Dorado’s noise maker.  Dorado has some words for Rush and Rush with a baseball slide to Dorado.  Rush taunts Dorado and Kalisto recovers to hit Salida del Sol for the three count.

Winner:  Kalisto

After the match, Buddy Murphy and Tony Nese are still in the back and they are given beverages but Tony already has something to drink.

We take a look back at the street fight from two weeks ago involving Drew Gulak and Akira Tozawa, along with Jack Gallagher and Brian Kendrick.

Drew Gulak and Jack Gallagher are in the back and Drew is asked about whether he considers himself to be an underdog.  Drew says there are many words that he would use to describe himself.  Submission specialist and leader.  He is a realist.  They had use of weapons and got lucky.  Tonight is not a street fight.  There are rules and that puts Akira Tozawa at a disadvantage.  When Tozawa steps to him, he will tap out.

Akira Tozawa gets ready with Brian Kendrick as we go to commercial.

We are back and Drake Maverick says 205 Live means new opportunities.  Drake says he does not intend to rest on his laurels.  Drake says he has contacted other brands and searched the world for talent.  There will be new faces and new competition.  Drake says he expects everyone to step up.

Match Number Two:  Drew Gulak vs. Akira Tozawa in a Winner Advances to the Cruiserweight Title Match at Royal Rumble Match

Gulak with a side head lock and take down.  Tozawa with a head scissors and Gulak escapes.  Gulak with a head scissors and Tozawa escapes.  They lock up and Gulak with a side head lock.  Tozawa with a head lock of his own.  Gulak with a top wrist lock into a side head lock.  Gulak with a shoulder tackle.  Gulak with a sunset flip when Tozawa tries for a leap frog and Gulak gets a near fall.  They lock up and Gulak backs Tozawa into the corner by grabbing Tozawa’s ear.  Gulak has some words for the referee.

Tozawa with elbows and punches.  Gulak blocks a slam attempt and Tozawa gets Gulak to flinch and Tozawa with a jab and slam followed by a back senton for a near fall.  Gulak goes to the floor and then he kicks Tozawa and tries for a suplex on the floor.  Gulak returns to the ring but Tozawa tries to pull him to the floor.  Gulak kicks Tozawa into the ringside barrier.  Gulak with a slam on the floor.  They return to the ring and Gulak gets a near fall.  Gulak with kicks to the back.  Gulak stretches Tozawa and puts a knee in the back.  Tozawa gets to the ropes and Gulak takes his time to release the hold.

Gulak with boots to Tozawa.  Gulak with a slam and he gets a near fall.  Gulak with a rear chin lock.  Tozawa with an elbow but Gulak with a knee.  Tozawa misses a spinning heel kick and Gulak sets for a power bomb but they go over the top rope to the floor.  Tozawa with a rana and heel kick for a near fall.  Tozawa with a forearm followed by a back heel kick.  Tozawa goes to the turnbuckles for a back senton but Gulak rolls to the apron.  Tozawa kicks Gulak and Gulak with a forearm.  Tozawa with a kick and he goes up top and hits a back senton onto Gulak’s back while Gulak is in the ropes and both men are down.

Tozawa with strikes to Gulak but Gulak avoids a Shining Wizard and Gulak picks up Tozawa and tosses him into the turnbuckles.  Gulak goes for the GuLock but Tozawa uses the ropes to get a near fall.  Gulak with a clothesline for a near fall.  Tozawa goes to the turnbuckles and goes for a sunset flip but Gulak rolls through and hits a power bomb for a near fall.  Gulak with punches.  Tozawa with forearms and they go back and forth.  Tozawa with a running forearm or two.  Gulak with a boot to stop a third attempt.  Tozawa with a boot followed by an octopus.  Gulak counters into a standing Horse Collar and he spins Tozawa.  Gulak turns it into a Stretch Muffler and Tozawa gets to the ropes.

Gulak with forearms and Tozawa sends Gulak into the turnbuckles.  Tozawa with a Saito suplex and Tozawa gingerly goes to the turnbuckles.  Tozawa’s knee gives out but he is able to recover and he goes for the back senton but Gulak moves and catches Tozawa in the GuLock.  Gulak adds a body scissors.  Tozawa rolls to the apron and then they both go to the floor.  Gulak chops Tozawa and he tries to send Tozawa into the ring post but Tozawa blocks it.  Tozawa with forearms and he returns to the ring.  Tozawa with a running boot that knocks Gulak off the apron and then Tozawa with a suicide dive head butt.

Tozawa goes up top and Gulak crotches Tozawa.  Gulak slaps Tozawa and Gulak goes to the turnbuckles.  Drew sets for a superplex but Tozawa blocks it.  Tozawa sends Gulak to the mat but Gulak recovers and sets for another superplex but Tozawa continues to block it.  Tozawa with a head butt to send Gulak to the mat.  Tozawa with a back senton for the three count.

Winner:  Akira Tozawa

After the match, Brian Kendrick comes to the ring to celebrate with Akira Tozawa.

Tony says it just got easier for Buddy Murphy with Tozawa winning.

Next week, Cedric Alexander faces Hideo Itami to find out who finishes the field for the Cruiserweight Title Match at Royal Rumble.

Cedric Alexander says he does not scare easily.  Itami intimidates others, but not him.  Next week, it will end the same way the first one did.  You lying on the mat with a broken back and his hand raised in victory.

Ariya Daivari says that Alexander’s only friend left him to go to Smackdown, you are able to pick yourself up.  You are not facing the same Hideo Itami you faced last year.  You are facing a tornado of terror.  Itami speaks in Japanese and then Daivari tells Alexander he is only going to get a lesson in respect.
