NXT Results - January 9, 2019

Johnny Gargano makes his way to the ring and he looks like he is in a very good mood.

Johnny wishes everyone a Happy New Year.  He says 2018 was a bit of a roller coaster.  He says he had time during the holidays to reflect on things.  Success around here is measured by two things.  Wins and championships.  It doesn’t matter how hard you try or how good a person you are.  Johnny says he will be better in 2019.  He says he will win and he will become a champion.

Johnny mentions Tommaso Ciampa and he says he heard what Ciampa said.  Don’t mistake a moment in the cage that meant nothing.  It was a one time thing that will never happen again.  He calls Ciampa a piece of trash with the championship he wants.  There is another championship out there.  As soon as you spoke this idea into the world of Johnny Gargano vs. Ricochet for the North American Championship, Ricochet fired at him.  He said if Johnny wants the smoke, he is right here.

Johnny says he does not want the smoke, but if he wants the North American championship, he is going to take it.  You might fly around the ring like a superhero . . .

Ricochet’s music interrupts and he appears on the stage and makes his way to the ring.

Ricochet tells Johnny this is all you had to do.  If you wanted an opportunity at the North American title, all you had to do was ask.  You are going to take it from me.  Are you going to do it face to face or after attacking me from behind in a parking lot?  Ricochet says he heard about how he is not just Johnny Wrestling but Johnny Takeover.  When it comes to Takeover, there will be one and only man who remains NXT’s North American Champion.  You are looking at him.

Tommaso Ciampa makes his way to the stage.

Ciampa says let’s not get off track.  Wins and championships.  That is what this is all about.

Gargano tells Ciampa to shut up because it is about him and Ricochet.

Aleister Black’s music plays and he appears on the HunterTron.  Black says he hopes that Ciampa is more concerned about him that being more concerned about grooming your little dog of war.  Black says he poses more of a threat than Gargano and in Phoenix, he will make CIampa fade to black.

The lights go out and they come back on and Black is behind Ciampa.  They fight over to the announce table and Black goes for a suplex off the table but Ciampa is able to get away.
