WWE Smackdown Results - December 4, 2018

We start off with a look back at how we got the Smackdown Women’s Championship Match for TLC.

We are live from the the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas! Paige is in the ring with the official contract signing carpet and table. Around the ring are some tables, ladders, and chairs.

Paige says that Smackdown is not just the land of opportunity, it is the place where history is made. Paige says she is honored to sanction the TLC match for the Smackdown Women’s Title and it is not a normal TLC match, it is a Triple Threat Match.

Paige brings out Asuka first. Out next is Charlotte Flair. The final person to come out is the Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

Becky starts off the talking and she talks about history. It must be a Tuesday because the Man makes history every time she walks into the ring. She will do the exact same thing at TLC. Being put through a table or having a chair hit her in the back or being crushed by a ladder is nothing compared to where she came from. Becky says she does not care how you got into this match and she will do whatever it takes to win.

Charlotte tells Becky to change the song because it is the same one every week. She is given the opportunity? Spin it however you want. Charlotte says she picked up the ball that Becky dropped at Survivor Series and destroyed Ronda with one kendo stick. Charlotte says it took one punch by Nia to break your face. Charlotte tells Becky to imagine what she will do with tables, ladders, and chairs.

They go on arguing until Asuka interrupts. Asuka says Becky already beat Flair but not her. Asuka says she would have defeated Rousey and she will beat Becky at TLC. Flair taunts Asuka for how she ended her streak at WrestleMania. Asuka says Flair got lucky one time. They all argue and Paige interrupts. Becky says none of them could beat Rousey or her. Becky signs the contract and leaves as fans chant her name.

Flair says Becky can leave because she’s all talk these days anyway. Flair says she’s going to beat Becky and Asuka, again. Flair throws a “wooooo!” at Asuka. Asuka fires back in Japanese. Flair tells her to stop because she already shattered Asuka’s mystique at WrestleMania and will now finish her at TLC. Paige gets in between them and tells them to calm down. They sign the contract. Asuka wants to fight right now. Mandy Rose’s music interrupts as she comes out with Sonya Deville. They cut promos on Flair and Asuka. Deville says Asuka’s Battle Royal win was a fluke last week but she promises she won’t get caught like that again. Rose says if Paige wants to see fire and desire, she’s looking right at it. Fans give her the “what!?” treatment. Rose wonders what happens if Flair and Asuka don’t make it to TLC. Paige says they are past idle threats. She makes a tag team match for now. Flair’s music hits as they all get ready for the match. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Shane McMahon is in his office and Miz wants to know why he is hosting MIzTV with Daniel Bryan. Shane says it is because Miz is the host of MizTV. Miz says they need to do the job that he was 2/3 born to do and Shane was 1/3 born to do, become the best tag team in the world. Shane tells Miz that he needs to get the answers out of Daniel Bryan. Miz tells Shane if he does it, Shane owes him. Shane says he doesn’t owe Miz anything.

Charlotte Flair and Asuka vs. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

Asuka and Sonya start things off and they avoid each other as they go for the legs. Sonya with a front face lock but Asuka with a waist lock. Sonya with a standing switch. Asuka with a wrist lock and Sonya with a reversal. Asuka with another reversal. Sonya with a shoulder tackle and Asuka does not move. Sonya with a side head lock. Sonya and Asuka miss round kicks and Asuka with an arm bar. Sonya with a knee and Mandy tags in. They double team Asuka with kicks and knees. Mandy gets a near fall.

Mandy pie faces Asuka and Asuka with strikes to Mandy. Asuka goes for the pop up knee but Mandy blocks it and hits a forearm. Asuka with a missile drop kick for a near fall. Asuka taunts Sonya on the apron and Charlotte tags in. Charlotte with a snap mare and kick to the back. Charlotte with an Irish whip but Mandy with an elbow. Mandy escapes a slam attempt and Charlotte is sent into the turnbuckles. Charlotte with a fallaway slam to Mandy and a kick to Sonya followed by a fallaway slam. Charlotte with a pescado onto Mandy and Sonya. Charlotte struts.

Becky Lynch walks out to watch the match.

Charlotte gets a near fall on Mandy. Asuka tags in and she kicks Mandy in the leg. Asuka with knees to the midsection and a snap mare. Asuka with a kick to the back and she hits a sliding kick after pointing at Beck. Asuka gets a near fall and she goes for the Asuka Lock but Mandy escapes. Sonya with a spear after Mandy misses a kick. Sonya gets a near fall. Sonya with a knee to the head and she applies a reverse chin lock and body scissors.

Asuka leans back and gets a near fall. Sonya with a kick and she kicks Asuka in the corner while Charlotte takes the attention of the referee. Mandy tags in and chokes Asuka in the ropes and Sonya with a knee from the apron. Mandy tags in and applies an abdominal stretch. Mandy with a gutwrench suplex and she slams Asuka’s head into the mat and gets a near fall. Sonya tags in and they kick Asuka. Sonya with knees to the midsection followed by a snap mare and sliding knee for a near fall.

Mandy tags in and Asuka with punches. Mandy with a jumping knee and she gets a near fall. Mandy puts Asuka in the turnbuckles and tags in Sonya. Sonya with punches and she chokes Asuka in the corner. Mandy tags back in and Asuka punches Mandy. Mandy with a clothesline and she goes for a wheelbarrow move but Asuka counters into a bulldog. Charlotte tags in and she clotheslines Sonya and knocks Mandy off the apron. Charlotte with chops and a belly-to-back suplex. Charlotte with a spear to Sonya and Mandy is sent to the floor.

Rose pulls Asuka off the apron. Rose rocks Flair from the apron but Asuka pulls her to the floor. Flair turns around and kicks Asuka off the apron with a big boot, apparently thinking the shot came from her. Deville rolls Flair up for a 2 count. Asuka comes back and drops Flair with a sliding knee. Deville takes advantage and gets the pin on Flair for the win.

Winners: Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose

After the match, Becky looks on as Rose and Deville celebrate. Asuka throws her hands up. Becky raises the title at ringside and smiles as Flair recovers. We go to replays. Becky continues raising the title in the air, looking at her TLC opponents.

– Still to come, the WWE Champion on MizTV. Also, Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton and Cesaro vs. Jey Uso vs. Xavier Woods. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and we see Jon Stewart at ringside. Stewart will appear on WWE’s 16th annual Tribute to the Troops.

Xavier Woods vs. Cesaro vs. Jey Uso

We go to the ring and out first comes The New Day – Xavier Woods with Big E and Kofi Kingston. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bar are out next – Cesaro with Sheamus. Out last are The Usos – Jey Uso with Jimmy Uso.

The bell rings and they take turns on Cesaro, then toss him out of the ring. We see Kofi and Big E at their custom announce table. Woods and Uso go at it now while The Bar watches and talks at ringside. Woods and Cesaro trade pin attempts, then do a show of respect. Cesaro runs in and they deck him, tossing him right back out to the floor. We go to commercial.

We are back and Cesaro drop kicks Woods off the apron to the floor and then Jey pushes Cesaro off the turnbuckles and Jey comes off the turnbuckles but is met with a European uppercut for a near fall. Cesaro sets for the Gotch Style Neutralizer but Woods with an enzuigiri. Jey with an uppercut to Cesaro and hits a pop up Samoan drop on Woods. Jey with a running hip strike to Woods and Cesaro goes to the floor. Jey with a plancha onto Cesaro. Woods with a tornado DDT from the apron to the floor on Jey.

Woods with a victory gourdbuster for a near fall. Jey with an enzuigiri to Cesaro and Jey goes up top and goes for a splash but Cesaro gets his knees up and gets a near fall. Woods with an elbow drop to Cesaro and Jey breaks up the cover. Woods and Jey exchange punches. Woods with the advantage but Jey with a flying forearm. Woods with a running forearm. Jey with a flying elbow and Cesaro with a Giant Swing on Jey while giving Xavier an airplane spin. Cesaro with the Sharpshooter on Woods . Jey with an enzuigiri and Woods with a rollup on Cesaro for a near fall. Woods is sent to the floor and Jey with a super kick to Cesaro for the three count.

Winner: Jey Uso

After the match, The New Day checks on Woods at ringside as Jimmy enters the ring to celebrate with his brother. Sheamus checks on Cesaro. The Bar raises the titles as the three teams have words ahead of their match at TLC.

Backstage:

We go to the interview area with Rusev and Lana. Rusev is asked about what happened last week and we see the footage.

Rusev is asked why was he attacked. Rusev says that Nakamura is afraid of him. He says he is strong, relentless, and he says he is hungry. Rusev says he is hungry for his United States Championship. Nakamura holds on to the title like a toy but it is not a toy. Nakamura is trying to avoid a match against him. Rusev will not avoid him this time. Rusev says he will get his hands on Nakamura and feast on Nakamura on the greatest holiday… RUSEV DAY!!!! We go to commercial.

– We are back with a video feature on Lars Sullivan.

MizTV:

Miz is in the ring and he’s immediatly interrupted by Carmella and R Truth and a DANCE BREAK!!! Truth and Carmella go to the back.

Miz asks some of the people if they started dancing. Miz welcomes everyone to MizTV. He says over eight years, Daniel Bryan has appeared on MizTV many times, but for the first time, he is on the show as the WWE Champion. Miz brings out The New Daniel Bryan.

Miz says Daniel looks like the old Daniel physically, but Daniel is more confident and he is not listening to people’s opinions. Daniel realized there is no such thing as a virtuous win. It appears that Daniel realized that Miz was right all along.

Daniel says everybody thought the old Daniel Bryan was very very smart. How smart could he have been if he catered to these people. He allowed their expectations to subvert his dreams. Daniel says he does not care about these people. Daniel says he has let his dreams take control. Daniel does not have a lot of intellectual peers to discuss this with, but he has books. He can consult the fellow great minds of history. People like Alexander Hamilton.

Daniel comments on the people saying something from twenty years ago. He says giving power to the mindless masses is bad. Daniel calls everyone sheep. Daniel says what is more dangerous is the knowledge of the old Daniel Bryan with the brutality of the new Daniel Bryan.

Miz says that what Alexander Hamilton wrote is what he has said for years. The only reason you have the WWE Championship is because you did whatever it took to win and that is what he has told Daniel.

Daniel says that Miz dances around the issue. He kicked AJ Styles in the groin. He kicked one man in the groin on one day. These people harm the Earth every day with their needless consumption. They drink their plastic water bottles and eat their factory farmed meats which sends methane into the air and affects the climate. If you want to count sins, he kicked one man in the groin on one day. These people commit countless atrocities against the Earth every single day.

Miz says for eight years Daniel has painted him as the bad guy, but you had them fooled. Miz says he saw through all of it. Miz says Daniel owes him. Miz asks Daniel if he is WWE Champion because he listened to what Miz said… yes or no?

Daniel says yes… no… yes… no… yes… no. Daniel says it does not matter. The only thing that matters is that the old Daniel Bryan is dead. The Yes Movement, with these logos… DEAD. The most important thing that you cannot do anything about is, here is your WWE Champion… The New Daniel Bryan.

Daniel Bryan yells fickle and AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.

Styles marches to the ring and Bryan retreats. AJ enters the ring and Miz grabs his leg but AJ kicks him off. AJ ends up chasing Bryan back in the ring but he unloads on Miz. Bryan comes from behind and attacks Styles for the double team. Miz comes from behind and drops AJ with a Skull Crushing Finale as Bryan watches from the ramp.

– Still to come, Hardy vs. Orton. Back to commercial.

– We are back and AJ Styles will face Miz later tonight.

– Randy Orton says Rey Mysterio should have stayed away. Tonight a new cockroach emerges from under the floor boards. It looks like he will have to stomp on Jeff Hardy one last time.

Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton

Hardy attacks as the bell rings and Orton with forearms and he rips at the ear lobes again. Hardy with a jaw breaker and Jeff clotheslines Orton over the top rope to the floor. Jeff goes to the floor and he hits a forearm to Orton against the ringside barrier. Hardy sends Orton into the ring post but Orton with a kick and he sends Hardy into the announce table. Hardy sends Orton face first into the announce table. Hardy with a back drop driver onto the announce table and he returns to the ring.

Jeff goes back to the floor and he sends Orton into the apron. Hardy sends Orton back into the ring and Orton kicks Hardy and drops Jeff on the top rope. Orton with the Garvin Stomp to Hardy. Orton gets a near fall. Orton with a reverse chin lock. Hardy has a kick blocked but Hardy with a mule kick. Hardy kicks Orton from the corner and hits Whisper in the Wind for a near fall. Hardy blocks a punch and he connects with punches. Hardy with a running forearm and reverse atomic drop and leg drop to the midsection followed by a drop kick for a near fall.

Orton with a back elbow that sends Hardy to the apron. Hardy with a shoulder to the midsection but Orton moves on a second attempt. Orton with an IEDDT on Hardy. Orton twists to the mat for the RKO but Hardy pushes Orton away. Orton avoids a Twist of Fate. Hardy with a flying clothesline and then Jeff goes to the turnbuckles. Orton with a punch and Hardy is crotched. Orton climbs the turnbuckles and sets for a superplex. Hardy slides under and drops Orton on the top turnbuckle. Hardy with a Twist of Fate and Hardy goes up top but Orton rolls to the floor.

Hardy with a drop kick to Orton and Jeff goes to the floor. Hardy rearranges the announce table and slams Orton’s head on it. Hardy with a back drop driver onto the table. Hardy goes to the turnbuckles and sets for a Swanton but Samoa Joe appears on the TitanTron. Joe is at a local bar, telling Hardy he’s doing a good job, to keep it up. Joe looks to be having drinks with people at the bar. Orton returns to the ring and takes advantage of the distraction, dropping Hardy with the RKO. Orton covers for the pin to win.

Winner: Randy Orton

After the match, Orton exits the ring as his music hits. We go to replays. Hardy stumbles to his feet as Joe appears on the big screen again. Joe is here to warn us about excess and says everything is best in moderation. He plays more mind games with Hardy while pouring a beer. Joe says the choice is clear – choose to drink responsibly. Joe sends a “cheers!” to Hardy before drinking the beer. Hardy rolls out of the ring and greets some fans at ringside on his way to the back.

– We are back and next week, there will be a rap battle between the Bar and Usos with the New Day hosting. We will also see Charlotte Flair versus Asuka next week.

– We see Daniel Bryan walking in the back and he is asked why is he still in the building. Daniel says the New Daniel Bryan does not run. Everything he does, he does with purpose. Daniel says he will be doing commentary. Bryan walks off and we go back to commercial.

Miz vs. AJ Styles

Styles with a shoulder and chops in the corner. Styles sends Miz into the turnbuckles and Irish whips Miz. The referee tells Styles to break and Miz with a kick and side head lock. Miz with a shoulder tackle. Styles with a Phenomenal drop kick. Styles pulls Miz down and then he hits a slingshot elbow drop for a near fall. Miz with a jaw breaker. Miz with a knee to the midsection. Miz chokes Styles in the ropes and kicks Styles in the back.

Miz with a rear chin lock. Miz with Reality Check for a near fall. Miz punches Styles. Miz with an Irish whip and then he sets for the Awesome Clothesline but AJ with a super kick. Miz sends Styles to the apron and Styles with a forearm but Miz sends Styles to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and both men are down. Styles with punches and strikes followed by a discus clothesline. Styles with a flying forearm. Styles with a clothesline into the corner followed by an ushigoroshi for a near fall. Styles calls for the Styles Clash but Miz counters and catapults Styles into the turnbuckles. Styles with a rollup for a near fall. Miz with a DDT for a near fall. Styles sends Miz to the floor and hits a slingshot forearm.

Daniel Bryan gets up from the announce table and he tells AJ he does not want to do anything untoward and offers his hand. Miz attacks Styles from behind and sends Styles into the ring steps. Miz with a Skull Crushing Finale for a near fall. Miz with a knee to the hamstring and Miz goes for the figure four leg lock. Styles sends Miz into the ring post. Daniel Bryan pulls Styles down and Styles kicks Bryan. Styles with a Calf Crusher and Miz taps out.

Winner: AJ Styles

After the match, AJ celebrates as his music hits but Bryan enters the ring and takes his knee out. Bryan drags AJ to the corner repeatedly slams his knee into the ring post. Bryan pulls AJ out and sends him face-first into the ring post. Bryan slams AJ’s face into the announce table now, mocking him. Bryan rolls AJ back into the ring and follows him, stalking him from the corner. AJ gets up but Bryan takes his knee out from behind again with a running shot. Bryan applies his Heel Hook submission now as AJ screams in pain. The referee tries to get Bryan to break it but he won’t. More referees run down and the hold is finally broken. Bryan stands tall as fans boo. AJ looks to get up but Bryan nails a kick to the head. Bryan stomps away on AJ now. Bryan runs a victory lap around the ring as the boos continue. Bryan stomps away on AJ’s head now. Bryan leaves the ring and grabs his title. He goes over to Hamilton and bullies him into announcing him as our WWE Champion, the new Daniel Bryan. Bryan stands on the announce table and raises the title as the boos continue. Bryan takes the mic and asks the people if they don’t approve or what. Fickle. The people don’t cheer? Fickle. The people don’t love the new Daniel Bryan? Fickle. Fickle. Fickle. Bryan goes on chanting “fickle!” as AJ slowly gets up in the ring. Bryan runs back into the ring and attacks AJ some more. Bryan applies the Hook again as AJ screams out in pain, saying he gives up. SmackDown goes off the air with referees trying to get Bryan to break the hold.
