Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler Split Up

Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler Split Up

The big split between Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler finally happened on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

McIntyre let Ziggler know that he doesn’t meet the “height requirements” to be at his “appreciation night” party that kicked off the second hour of Raw. McIntyre told Ziggler that the business relationship is no longer working for him and Ziggler’s role was only to help him get in a prominent position.

McIntyre yelled at Ziggler and said that he should be kissing his feet because he became relevant for the first time in 10 years.

McIntyre went to attack Ziggler but the tables were turned and Ziggler hit the Zig Zag. That wasn’t the end for Ziggler because Raw GM Baron Corbin forced him to face McIntyre immediately. McIntyre lost the match but it was thanks to interference from Finn Balor.

The split was plan from the moment it was decided for Ziggler and McIntyre to team up. It was Dave Meltzer who reported that the team was modeled after the Shawn Michaels/Diesel team from the mid-’90s. The goal was to make Diesel into a major star and that is what they are doing with McIntyre, even though the loss to Ziggler is probably not the best thing but I guess they wanted to add heat to the feud with Balor.

Following the feud with Balor, McIntyre is set for a major singles push going forward and it looks like he will be a heel for a while before he eventually turns babyface. He will face Finn Balor at the TLC pay-per-view on December 16.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves basically buried Ziggler by talking about McIntyre being the person responsible for Ziggler having such a long Intercontinental Title reign.
