There was some speculation that AJ Styles would make a surprise appearance as Baron Corbin’s opponent at WWE’s live event in Madison Square Garden. The reason for this speculation is because it was announced to the crowd at the live event in Chicago that Styles was not there because he’s dealing with an illness.
The story given is true and he is currently out with the flu. The show in Chicago ended up being headlined by The Miz and Mustafa Ali challenging Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship in a Steel Cage Triple Threat Match.
Ali has been getting a push as the newest member of the SmackDown roster and he was put in the steel cage match because he is from Chicago.
The match was said to be really good and the crowd was really into everything Ali did. However, Bryan was able to retain the title.
Styles is advertised to face Bryan tonight at the Nassau Coliseum show in New York but that could change if he is still sick.
