Saturday’s NXT Takeover: WarGames will feature just four matches, according to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer website.
The reason for this is because the scheduled matches are scheduled to get more time, especially the WarGames match and the 2-out-of-3 falls match for the NXT Women’s Championship.
It looked like they were building towards a Takeover match between Kassius Ohno and Matt Riddle. That was the original plan but instead, the match will be taped before Takeover and it will air on the weekly TV show, likely on the 11/21 episode.
WWE will be running one NXT TV taping in San Jose before Takeover so it’s possible that the Ohno vs. Riddle match could air later than 11/21.
Here is the card for Takeover: WarGames II:
NXT Championship
Tommaso Ciampa (Champion) vs. Velveteen Dream
Aleister Black vs. Johnny Gargano
WarGames match
The Undisputed Era vs. Pete Dunne, Ricochet and War Raiders
NXT Women’s Championship – Two-out-of-three falls
Shayna Baszler (Champion) vs. Kairi Sane
According to the WWE Network schedule, the show is scheduled to air from 7 pm eastern to 9:30 pm eastern.
Takeover: WarGames II will kick off a big weekend for WWE. In addition to Takeover: WarGames II on 11/17, WWE will run Survivor Series on 11/18, Monday Night Raw on 11/19 and SmackDown Live on 11/20 at the Staples Center.
