WWE 205 Live Results - September 26, 2018

Last week, Cedric Alexander retained the Cruiserweight Title against Drew Gulak.  Cedric goes on to face Buddy Murphy in Australia. 

Tonight, there will be a face to face meeting between Buddy and Cedric.  Noam Dar will face Lio Rush tonight.  Mustafa Ali returns to the ring to face Hideo Itami tonight.  Itami won the last match between the two men but what will happen tonight?

We are in Denver, Colorado and your announcers are Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson.

Match Number One:  Noam Dar vs. Lio Rush

Rush gets a shot in on Dar before the bell.  Rush avoids Dar  but Dar kicks Rush in the leg.  Dar with knees to the midsection and then he hip tosses Rush into the ropes.  Dar with a cravate and he sends Rush into the turnbuckles.  Dar picks up Rush and drops him to the mat and gets a near fall.  Dar traps the arms and then he gets a near fall with a rollup.  Rush goes to the floor and Dar follows.  Rush tries to send Dar into the ring steps but Dar blocks it.  Dar grabs the leg but Rush with a slap and rolling kick into the ropes to knock Dar off the apron.  Rush with an Asai Moonsault.

They return to the ring and Rush gets a near fall.  Rush with a chop in the corner but Dar with forearms.  Rush with a slam and he gets a near fall.  Rush with a kick to the back and he applies a waist lock.  Rush with a bridge for a near fall.  Dar with a punch and forearms.  Rush with a kick to the knee and Dar goes down.  Rush with a kick to the chest and elbow to the back of the neck.  Rush with kicks in the corner.  Rush with a snap mare and he tries for a round kick but Dar blocks it and sends Rush to the mat.  Dar with a forearm.

Rush goes for a cross body but Dar drops down and Rush hits the ropes and bounces off them.  Dar with a double thrust and head butt followed by a European uppercut.  Dar with a running forearm into the corner.  Dar with a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall.  Dar sets for the running kick but Rush rolls through.  Dar blocks a kick and applies an ankle lock.  Rush rolls through and escapes.  Rush goes to the turnbuckles and flips off but lands on his feet.  Dar with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex into the turnbuckles for a near fall. 

Dar charges into the corner but Rush moves.  Dar blocks a slap and connects with forearms and punches.  The referee pulls Dar out of the corner and Rush with a kick to the knee and to the head.  Rush goes up top and hits the frog splash for the three count.

Winner:  Lio Rush

Drake Maverick is in the back with Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy to talk about the Cruiserweight Title match.  Drake mentions their last title match and the anticipation for this match.  Cedric is asked for his thoughts.  He is looking to win.  The last time they wrestled, he won and it was because of pride.  Nobody is more proud of being champion.  Buddy mentions that Cedric had all of the advantages being in his home town but he came this close to winning.

Cedric says excuses won’t help Buddy.  Buddy says he will not need excuses when he becomes the next Cruiserweight Champion in Melbourne.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Two:  Brian Kendrick (with Drew Gulak and Jack Gallagher) vs. A Guy

Kendrick with a kick and the Captain’s Hook and he taps out.

Winner:  Brian Kendrick

After the match, Gulak attacks Brian’s victim and hits a Saito suplex.  Drew with punches in the corner.  Gulak with a running kick on the apron.  Kendrick says that is enough.  Kendrick throws his victim to the floor.

Mustafa Ali is in the back and he says the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.  Every time with Hideo Itami it has ended the same way.  People see Hideo Itami’s path of destruction and they come to Ali to stop him. 

We go to commercial.

We are back and TJP is in a mask.  He says that people accused him of disrespecting lucha libre by removing Lince’s mask, but he wrestled for years in a mask.  TJP says he did not care about it then and he does not care about it now.   He does not care about people wearing a Halloween mask to the ring.  All he cares about is making people tap out and next week he will do it to Kalisto.

Next week, Jack Gallagher will face Akira Tozawa.

Match Number Three:  Mustafa Ali vs. Hideo Itami

Itami goes into the ropes when Ali wants to lock up.  Itami tells Ali to be tranquilo.  Itami rolls to the floor to do some stretching.  Ali goes to the floor and chases Itami around the ring.  Itami misses a boot when Ali teases getting back into the ring.  Ali with a chop.  Ali with a chop and Itami returns to the ring.  Ali flips out of the corner and flips to avoid a kick.  Ali with a drop kick and forearms to Itami.

Ali with a head scissors take down and he blocks a kick from Itami and hits a spinning heel kick for a near fall.  Ali tries to bring Itami back into the ring abut Itami pulls Ali down and sends Ali’s head into the ring post.   Itami pulls Ali off the apron and to the floor.  Itami with kicks to the chest.  Itami sends Ali back into the ring and Itami gets a near fall.  Itami with a kick to the back.  Itami works on the neck.  Itami with knees to the midsection and Ali with a rollup into a crucifix and he gets a near fall.

Itami with a knee to the midsection and he gets a near fall.  Itami with knees to the head and then he leaps over Ali and connects with a back kick to the head.  Itami with a kick to the chest but Ali with a chop.  Itami with more kicks and Ali with forearms.  Itami with a back heel kick and he goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Ali lands on his feet.  Itami with a DDT for a near fall.  Itami returns to the neck.  Itami goes for a Boston Crab and he sits on the back to apply more pressure.  Itami turns it into a single leg crab.  Itami kicks Ali in the head while still in the single leg crab.

Ali gets close to the ropes but Itami pulls Ali back into the center of the ring and puts his boot on the back of Ali’s neck.  Ali gets to the ropes.  Itami kicks Ali and Ali falls through the ropes and falls to the floor.  Itami sends Ali into a member of security.  Itami with kicks to the chest.  Ali tries to get back to his feet and Itami helps him up.  Itami with a suplex on the floor.  Itami goes to the apron and breaks the referee’s count for himself but the referee continues to count Ali out until he is able to return to the ring.  Itami gets Ali on his shoulders but Ali escapes and he gets a near fall with a rollup.  Ali with an enzuigiri.

Ali hits the rolling X Factor and then he goes to the turnbuckles.  Ali with a sunset flip into a sit out power bomb and Ali gets a near fall.  Ali is sent to the apron by Itami and Itami is back dropped to the floor.  Ali flips into the ring and then he hits a plancha onto Itami.  Both men are down on the floor.  Ali sends Itami back into the ring and Ali goes to the turnbuckles.  Itami rolls to the apron and goes to the floor.  Ali goes to the floor as well.  Itami with an elbow but Ali with an elbow of his own.  Ali comes off the ring steps and is met with a kick to the head.

They return to the ring and Itami gets a near fall.  Itami sets for the hesitation drop kick into the corner but Ali gets to the floor.  Ali goes to the turnbuckles and hits a tornado DDT for a near fall.  Ali pulls Itami into position for the inward 450 splash but Itami crotches Ali on the top rope.  Itami sets for a superplex and he turns it into a Super Falcon Arrow for a near fall.  Itami sets for a superplex but Ali pushes Itami off and hits a frog splash for a near fall.

Ali goes to the turnbuckles for the inward 450 splash but Itami goes to the apron.  Ali goes to the turnbuckles and hits a 450 splash onto Itami on the apron.  Both men fall to the floor after the impact.  The referee makes his count and gets to ten.

Double Count Out

After the match, the referee calls for help and Drake Maverick comes out and he asks for some medical assistance for Ali and Itami.
