Mick Foley Explains His Guest Referee Role For Hell In A Cell

Mick Foley was a guest 0n Busted Open Radio discussing the 20th anniversary of Hell In A Cell. In the conversation, the WWE Hall of Famer talks about his role as the Special Guest Referee in the WWE Universal Championship match between Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns.

Here’s a little excerpt from the interview where he believes that spots like this deserve to have a purpose:

“I think having superstars returning is a good thing in doses and in this case, this was in the works well before WWE came to see my [stand-up] special… I had the chance to participate in the 25th anniversary of Raw and I texted Mr. McMahon and said, ‘I appreciate it, but I feel like I have something to offer if you can wait until September so I can do something more impactful for the 20th anniversary of Hell In A Cell.’ And so this is a case where I have a definite role.”
