The Bludgeon Brothers defeated The New Day at SummerSlam after they just got tired of the match and beat The New Day down with those big hammers. The New Day won via DQ, but Rowan and Harper still retained their titles.
But Rowan was injured in the process and now he will have to get a possible arm injury checked out. The New Day have a no DQ rematch set for SmackDown Live tonight, and since Rowan is injured, Kofi, Big E, and Woods might become tag team champions once again.
Dave Meltzer said all he knew about Rowan’s injury during Wrestling Observer Radio.
“Rowan they think has a torn bicep from catching one of those guys in one of those spots but it’s not a certain what the injury is.”
Since we don’t know much about Rowan’s injury and they are defending the title on SmackDown, unless something happens to stop the match from going down, it wouldn’t be surprising to see The New Day pull down a W and the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
