WWE RAW Results - July 9, 2018

Tonight’s show starts off with a video package for Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns. We cut to backstage where Roman Reings walks in Bobby Lashley’s face.

Roman says he is going to his ring so he tells Bobby to get out of his way. Bobby says he hopes that Roman will call him out. Bobby says if he does, he won’t be coming out to talk, he will be coming out to tear you apart. Bobby lets Roman go to his ring.

We are live from the TD Garden in Boston, MA, and Roman Reings makes his way to the ring. Roman says after this week, there’s a whole lot he can talk about, but he never literally had anyone stare him in the face and tell him to call someone out. Roman says he is curious to see what Bob can do. Roman tells Bobby Lashley to get his ass out here because he is calling him out.

Bob makes his way to the ring and they are ready to fight, but Kurt Angle appears on the stage with Baron Corbin and says this is not happening tonight and to save it for Sunday. Angle repeats himself and they start brawling in the middle of the ring, taking it to the corner.

Angle calls for reinforcements and out comes the RAW locker room with a few referees. Reigns and Lashley are broken up but they get free to continue the brawl. They are separated again but Lashley breaks free and leaps at Reigns in the other corner. Reigns is taken to the floor as more Superstars come from the back. Reigns starts punching Superstars as more come from the back to keep the two separated. Lashley makes it to the floor but they’re still being kept apart. Lashley gets free again and rocks Reigns a few times. They start pushing Lashley up the ramp as we get a “yes!” chant from the crowd. Lashley breaks free again and floors Reigns at ringside. Lashley with more offense as they try to break them up. Reigns also gets a few shots in. Lashley manages to roll Reigns into the ring but the Superstars carry Lashley away before he can do anything.

Reigns gets to his feet in the ring now. Reigns runs the ropes and nails a huge dive to the floor, taking out Lashley and more than a dozen Superstars. Reigns stands tall and poses on the ramp before other Superstars back him to the stage. Angle, Finn Balor and others try to keep Reigns from going back to ringside as his music hits. Lashley is now on his feet at ringside but the other Superstars are keeping the two apart. Reigns fights a few off and runs back down to ramp to attack Lashley again. Lashley’s music hits as they are kept apart once again.

– We see Alexa Bliss and Mickie James watching backstage. They talk about the chaos at ringside but it’s nothing compared to what they have planned for Nia Jax and Natalya. We get another look at ringside as Lashley stares up at Reigns. Cole hypes Bliss and James vs. Jax and Natalya as we go to commercial.

We are back with a Moments Ago Moment of the pandemonium between Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley . . . and a lot of the locker room.

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James vs. Nia Jax and Natalya

Nia and Alexa start things off in the ring but Mickie is tagged in before anything happens. They lock up and Nia sends Mickie to the mat and then picks her up and Natalya tags in and they hit a Hart Attack. Mickie kicks Natalya away on a Sharpshooter attempt. Alexa tags in and Natalya with a clothesline. Alexa goes to the floor and Natalya with a baseball slide to Mickie and Alexa. Natalya sends Alexa into the ringside barrier and then she clotheslines Mickie.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Mickie with knees to the ribs. Mickie sends Natalya into the corner and then kicks her. Alexa tags in and Mickie Irish whips Alexa towards Natalya and Alexa with a slap. Alexa chokes Natalya and then gives her a snap and reverse chin lock. Alexa with a clothelsine and she gets a near fall. Alexa punches Natalya and gets a near fall. Mickie tags in and Natalya with an elbow to Alexa and then she avoids Mickie and sends her into the corner. Nia tags in and she connects with a shoulder tackle to Mickie and she knocks Alexa off the apron.

Nia with a shoulder into the corner and then she runs Mickie into the turnbuckles. Nia with a head butt and shoulder tackle. Nia gets Mickie on her shoulders and then presses Mickie over her head and drops Mickie and then hits a leg drop for the three count.

Winners: Nia Jax and Natalya

After the bell, Bliss immediately hits the ring and nails Jax with a kendo stick. Bliss with more kendo stick shots as some fans boo her. Jax finally gets up and catches the stick. Jax swings it but Bliss retreats and runs away with Mickie on the ramp. Jax tosses the stick and stares them down from the apron as they run to the back. Jax marches up the ramp while her music plays.

– Still to come, Bo Dallas vs. Matt Hardy. Also, a look at Kevin Owens after last week’s portable toilet ride. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Nia is asked about the things Alexa has done. Nia says she does not need a list of what she has done. Alexa cannot break her, but she can break Alexa. She will use Alexa like she used that kendo stick. She will not forget what Alexa has done. She will be paying it back to Alexa, inch by inch. Nia vows to win back her Raw Women’s Title.

– We have a video package about what happened to Kevin Owens thanks to Braun Strowman the last few weeks.

Backstage:

Kurt Angle is on his phone and Kevin Owens arrives in his office. Kevin says he is here to work despite the vendetta that Kurt has and the obsession that Braun has. You would love to feed him to his pet monster or fire him. You can’t do that because Kevin has connections. Kevin says that instead of filing a complaint for an unsafe work environment. Kevin gives Kurt a doctor’s note saying he is not medically cleared to wrestle, but he is still here. Kevin says he will hang out in the place where he is safe from Braun Strowman. Kevin says he will be in Kurt’s office all night.

No Way Jose vs. Mojo Rawley

We go to the ring and out comes Mojo Rawley. Back to commercial.

They lock up and Jose with forearms. Jose with a front face lock and Mojo picks him up and tosses him to the mat. Mojo with a POUNCE for a near fall. Mojo with another near fall and then he connects with forearms to the back. Mojo runs into an elbow and then Mojo with a running shoulder into the corner followed by a gutwrench suplex. Mojo with a half nelson and chin lock. Mojo slams Jose’s head into the mat.

Mojo returns to the half nelson and chin lock. Jose gets to the ropes and then Jose gets an elbow and knee up when Mojo charges into the corner. Jose with forearms and knees. Jose with a clothesline and he gets a near fall. Jose with a forearm in the corner and then he climbs the turnbuckles but Mojo with an Alabama Slam for the three count.

Winner: Mojo Rawley

– We take a look at Sasha and Bayley with a new therapist. Bayley says she has always been Sasha’s friend and she would not let things get between them. Sasha constantly tries to stab her in the back and she knows that Sasha will never change because she only cares about Sasha Banks.

Backstage:

Seth Rollins walks in the back and Jinder Mahal and Sunil Singh stop him. Jinder says life is beautiful. Instead of burning it down, you must embrace it. You can achieve inner peace if you chant his mantra. Seth says that maybe when he is burning it down, he is burning down pieces of his soul. Jinder chants Shanti and Seth leaves. Back to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. Seth says over the years, you have given him some sweet nicknames. Mr. Money in the Bank since he won it in Boston. The Kingslayer, the Architect, Monday Night Rollins. The only moniker that matters now is Former Intercontinental Champion. Seth says he has an opportunity to change that. At Extreme Rules, he goes one on one against Dolph Ziggler for thirty minutes. The man with the most wins in that period is the Iron Man and leaves Extreme Rules as the Intercontinental Champion. Dolph is no joke. He is a veteran and he is savvy. Seth says that Dolph will bring that overgrown Scottish Wookiee, Drew McIntyre.

Dolph’s music interrupts and he makes his way to the stage with Drew McIntyre.

Ziggler takes the mic first and taunts Rollins with the title. Ziggler says he will walk out of Extreme Rules and will still be our champion. Some fans boo. McIntyre tells Rollins it’s not all bad because he will still have his little nicknames and a painful career-ending loss where he got a glimpse at the future of this place. Ziggler gives props to Rollins and says he’s one of the greatest to step into the ring but he’s no Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler says he may win 5-0 or 10-0, maybe 100-0 or 1000-0 at Extreme Rules, he’s that good. Rollins says Ziggler has been bleaching his hair for too long, maybe the peroxide got to his brain. Ziggler stumbles over his words and fans boo him for it. Ziggler knocks Rollins for doing CrossFit and brags about how he will win at Extreme Rules.

The back & forth continues as Rollins cracks jokes. Drew marches to the ring for a fight but Ziggler stops him. Ziggler runs down Rollins on the mic again. Drew has had enough of this. He wants to see how much of a man Rollins really is. McIntyre issues a challenge for a fight tonight. Fans cheer and chant “yes!” at Rollins as he looks out. Rollins accepts the challenge and says McIntyre better be very careful because he’s a baaad man. McIntyre rushes the ring but Rollins runs right out and hits the ramp. Rollins backs up the ramp and taunts Ziggler & McIntyre as they look on from the ring.

– Still to come, Roode and Balor vs. Elias and Corbin. We see Curtis Axel backstage getting his Matt Hardy wig on. Bo Dallas appears as Bray Wyatt and fools Axel for a second. They mock the RAW Tag Team Champions. Still to come, Dallas vs. Hardy. Back to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel are in the ring. Curtis says on Sunday at Rules of Extreme, the B Team will dethrone the delusional Deleters of the World and become the new Raw Tag Team Champions. Bo says they will devour their souls with a side of rice and beans. Maybe a side of avocado if it is in season. A little salt and pepper. It is going to be a buffet.

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt appear on the TitanTron to interrupt. Matt says enough of the mendacious monkeys. The time for fun and games is over. Bray says laughter is contagious, but you know what else is contagious… fear. You have been infected. Bray says they have the cure. Matt says they will eat you and delete you. Bray says why wait for Sunday when they’re here.

Matt and Bray appear behind Bo and Curtis and Bo and Curtis leave the ring.

Matt Hardy vs. Bo Dallas

Matt runs Bo into the corner and connects with shoulders. Matt with forearms and he sends Bo into the turnbuckles for the shots of deletion. We see The Revival watching in the back. Matt works on the shoulder and he applies a hammer lock. Bo with a back elbow and punch to Matt. Matt with more punches and a back elbow that sends Bo to the floor. Matt follows Bo and he suplexes Bo on the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Matt with elbows to the back of the neck. Matt with a snap mare into a cravate. Bo with punches but Matt punches back. Matt with a punch to Bo against the ropes and then he punches Bo in the midsection. Matt Irish whips Bo’s throat into the bottom rope. Bo falls to the floor and Matt teases going to the floor. Matt goes to the floor and he clotheslines Bo when Bo gets back to his feet.

Matt Irish whips Bo into the ringside barrier. Bo escapes a Side Effect on the ring steps but he cannot avoid it in the ring.

Matt with another Side Effect and then he goes to the apron to try to suplex Bo to the floor. Bo holds on and Bray hits Axel from behind when Axel distracts Hardy. Bo with a hanging swinging neck breaker for the three count.

Winner: Bo Dallas

After the match, the lights go out and Bray and Matt are on the floor outside the ring. Wyatt with a uranage to Axel while Hardy hits a Twist of Fate on Dallas.

– Michael Cole announces that the match between Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins will take place tonight.

– We take a look back at what happened at the start of Raw between Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley.

Backstage:

Bobby Lashley is asked about his mindset for Sunday. Bobby says he has respect for everyone he stepped in the ring with, but he has zero respect for Roman Reigns. He does not like the way that he walks and talks. He does not llike how Roman thinks he is the sheriff of Raw. He is tired of Roman bringing up what happened ten years ago. At least Roman wants to fight and he knows that Roman will show up. Roman will walk into Extreme Rules, but he will not walk out. BELIEVE THAT.

Backstage:

Tyler Breeze says that he knows they need help because he knows something about fashion. We see that he is talking to Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. They say they don’t do fashion, they riot. Liv hops on Sarah’s back and they walk away. We go to commercial.

– We are back with more from Sasha Banks and Bayley during the counseling session.

– We see coverage of Ronda Rousey being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

– We go to comments from Alexa Bliss. She says that she thought being Raw Women’s Champion was the biggest joy of her life, but hearing the kendo stick connect with Nia Jax over and over again was great. Now she gets to see that rookie in the front row. Nia can say whatever she wants about her, but Nia will have to call her the Raw Extreme Women’s Champion.

Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan (with Sarah Logan)

They lock up and Liv with a waist lock and Ember with a standing switch. Liv misses an elbow and Ember pushes her away. Ember lands on her feet on a hip toss attempt and Liv avoid a kick and backs into the corner. Liv gets to the ropes but Ember pulls her into the center of the ring. Liv goes to the floor. Ember goes to the floor and we go to commercial.

We are back and Liv with elbows followed by a bulldog for a near fall. Liv with a Japanese Stranglehold. Ember falls back to escape the hold. Liv misses a kick and Liv with a matrix and then she takes Ember to the mat. Ember with a head scissors to send Liv into the turnbuckles. Ember with knees to the head and chest followed by a knee lift. Ember with a fallaway slam.

Logan gets on the apron and Ember with a springboard punch to knock Logan off the apron. Morgan with a rollup but Ember with a jackknife cover for the three count.

Winner: Ember Moon

Backstage:

Renee Young is with Finn Balor and he is asked about his tag match tonight and comments from Baron Corbin. Bobby Roode shows up and he says that they are cut from the same cloth. Both are great looking men, have great hair, and great abs. They are unstoppable in the ring. When it comes to performing in the ring, there is no one better than Finn Balor. When they are done tonight, they will be… Renee says GLORIOUS, but Bobby says they will be victorious. They will also be Glorious. Finn says he loves it when Bobby does it. It is funny for Baron to think that he is in control. Tonight, Baron will find out that he is not half of anything. He is twice as good. They prefer to do their talking in the ring. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Kevin Owens sprays the office. Drew and Dolph enter and Kurt tells Drew if he loses tonight, Drew will be banned from ringside on Sunday. Kevin says that is favoritism. Drew says that is okay because Seth will not get through the match tonight.

In the Arena:

We go to the ring and JoJo introduces Elias. He plays the guitar some and announces he’s been in the studio working on his debut album as of late. Elias says it’s real and it’s happening because of one universal truth – WWE stands for Walk With Elias. He gets the crowd to say it a few times. Elias starts singing about his opponents now and takes shots at Boston. The crowd goes from cheering to booing him. The crowd chants “you suck” now. Elias goes on and mentions Tom Brady being his friend. Constable Baron Corbin is out next. Corbin asks Elias if he can try a song out. Corbin suggests they perform a little lullaby for Finn Balor. Corbin asks Elias if he knows “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and he does. Elias has the lights brought down. They start performing “Itsy Bitsy Spider” but Corbin changes the words to take shots at Balor. The music interrupts as Balor comes out first for his team. Bobby Roode is out next.

Elias and Baron Corbin vs. Bobby Roode and Finn Balor

Back from a commercial and the match is underway as Roode is going at it with Elias. Roode catches Elias in an inverted atomic drop and more offense for a pin attempt. Roode with more offense and a counter. Elias avoids the Glorious DDT and ends up dropping Roode face-first. Corbin tags in and keeps Roode down. The screen splits to a promo for Reigns vs. Lashley at Extreme Rules as Corbin keeps Roode grounded in the lower corner. Roode fights up to his feet now but Corbin tosses him into the corner. Corbin runs around and back into the ring but they both collide and go down after clothesline attempts.

Elias and Balor tag in at the same time. Balor takes Elias down first. Balor decks Corbin on the apron next. Balor stomps Elias in the mid-section and nails Corbin in the corner. Balor sends Elias out to the floor. Balor runs the ropes for a dive to Elias but Corbin grabs his leg from behind and trips him. Elias comes from behind as Balor has his attention on Corbin. Elias drops Balor and takes control as we go back to commercial.

We are back and Corbin with a half nelson and chin lock. Corbin with a back elbow for a near fall. Elias tags in and applies a reverse chin lock. Balor with forearms but Elias with an Irish whip. Balor gets a boot up and then he sends Elias to the floor. Corbin tags in and he hits Balor in the back with a forearm to prevent the tag. Balor with slingblade and both men are down. Roode tags in and he knocks Elias off the apron and then connects with an elbow to Corbin and he leaps over Corbin and hits a forearm. Roode with a clothesline into the corner followed by a neck breaker.

Roode goes to the turnbuckles for a blockbuster and Corbin catches Rood by the throat and hits a chokebreaker for a near fall. Elias is sent to the floor and Balor with a baseball slide. Corbin knocks Balor down on the apron. Roode with a rollup on Corbin for a near fall. Roode with boots and he hits a blockbuster for a near fall. Elias breaks up the cover and goes back to the apron for a tag but Balor pulls Elias off the apron. Balor tells Corbin to come out to the floor and they exchange forearms. Balor with a kick and then he goes up top for Coupe de Grace but Corbin crotches Balor.

Corbin charges into the corner and Roode moves so Corbin hits the ring post shoulder first. Roode with a spinebuster to Elias and Corbin hits End of Days for the three count.

Winners: Elias and Baron Corbin

Backstage:

Kevin Owens is in Kurt’s office having a snack and Braun Strowman shows up and Kevin reminds Kurt about the note. Kurt says they will fight on Sunday in a steel cage match. Braun asks what is that smell and he picks up the air freshener. He says it is Kevin and he reeks of fear. Braun sprays Kevin and Kurt asks Kevin if he is okay but he does not sound sincere. We go to commercial.

– We are back with more counseling between Sasha Banks and Bayley. Next week, we will find out the results of the counseling.

– We see what happened when people who have issues and are not sent to counseling with a look back at the opening segment between Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley.

Backstage:

Renee Young is in the back with Roman Reigns. He is asked if it was reckless to provoke Bobby Lashley. Roman says he did not think he provoked him. He did not have any respect for Bobby until he saw the fire. Roman says Bobby cannot beat him in the ring. He does not care about Bobby’s physical tools. He will beat Bobby at Extreme Rules and move on to bigger and better things. Bob will be the guy… somewhere else.

– The announcers go over the Extreme Rules card.

Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre

We go to the ring for tonight’s main event and out comes Seth Rollins. Back to commercial.

They lock up and Drew backs Seth into the corner and he pushes Seth and has something to say to Rollins. They lock up again and Drew sends Seth face first into the mat. Rollins with jabs and a side head lock. Rollins holds on when Drew tries to send Seth off the ropes. Drew blocks a side head lock take down and he sends Seth to the mat with a shoulder tackle. Drew with a side head lock take down. Rollins with a drop kick but Drew with a shoulder tackle.

Rollins with chops and punches but Drew with a punch and deadlift suplex for a near fall. Drew chops Seth a few times and then he applies an arm bar. Rollins with punches and chops but Drew with a back drop for a near fall. Drew with a seated abdominal stretch. Drew with a clothesline and then he stomps on Seth’s head. Drew with a chop and then he applies an arm bar. Rollins lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt. Rollins drops down and Drew goes over the top rope to the floor. Rollins with a baseball slide and then he goes for a suicide dive and Drew catches Rollins and hits a tilt-a-whirl slam on the apron.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Drew with an arm bar. Rollins with chops and forearms but Drew with an Irish whip. Rollins is sent across the ring via an overhead belly-to-belly throw. Drew with punches and then he stomps on Seth’s head. Drew with a chop and then he stomps on the hand when Rollins reaches for the ropes. Drew stomps on the head and then he applies an arm bar. Rollins with a jaw breaker to escape the hold. Drew goes for a deadlift suplex but Rollins with a knee. Rollins with a flatliner into the turnbuckles.

Rollins with chops and forearms followed by clotheslines but Drew stays on his feet. Drew with a boot but Rollins with Slingblade and Drew is down and on the floor. Rollins with a suicide dive and then he hits a second one. Rollins sends Drew back into the ring and hits a springboard clothesline for a near fall. Drew with a back body drop but Rollins lands on his feet and he connects with a boot followed by a blockbuster for a near fall.

Rollins sets for a super kick and he hits a thrust kick and misses Black Out. Rollins with a forearm into the corner but Drew with a forearm and reverse wheelbarrow slam for a near fall. Drew goes for a slam but Rollins lands on his feet and gets a near fall with a rollup. Rollins with a chop but he misses an enzuigiri. Drew with a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Rollins rolls to the apron and Drew sends Rollins into the turnbuckles. Drew goes to the turnbuckles and he sets for a superplex but Rollins drops under and crotches Drew.

Rollins falls to the apron to recover and Seth with an enzuigiri and Drew is caught in the turnbuckles. Rollins goes up top and Drew pulls himself up and throws Rollins across the ring. Drew runs into a super kick and Rollins with a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Drew with a head butt and he gets a near fall. Drew gets Rollins on his shoulders and Drew climbs the turnbuckles for a super Air Raid Crash but Rollins escapes and he sets for a buckle bomb and hits it. Rollins with a thrust kick to the head and then Rollins goes up top. Rollins kicks Ziggler and Seth with a cross body for a near fall.

Rollins with an enzuigiri and then he hits Black Out on Ziggler. Drew with the Claymore for the three count.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

After the match, McIntyre stands tall and has his arm raised as the music hits. Rollins is still down on the mat. We go to replays. McIntyre carries Ziggler on his back and marches up the ramp as the referee checks on Rollins in the ring. McIntyre carries Ziggler to the back as RAW goes off the air.
