Dana White Confirms Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier, Paul Heyman Reacts

Dana White Confirms Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier, Paul Heyman Reacts
- During the UFC 226 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White took questions from reporters.

White said that Lesnar reached out a couple of days ago and apologized for “going dark” on him for a while. Lesnar said that he told White that he wanted to be at the fight on Saturday night and he was fired up when he got to the arena.

Lesnar thought that Stipe Miocic would win the fight against Daniel Cormier because Cormier put on some weight. White said that he doesn’t know yet what date works for Cormier vs. Lesnar.

White said that Lesnar entered the USADA testing pool last week and he’ll pop up on the testing roster “soon.” A reporter mentioned that there was an anonymous name on the testing pool but White didn’t know if that was Lesnar. White said that Cormier and Lesnar have known each other for a long time and there is “a thing between those two” because they’ve always bantered about who would win in the Octagon.

MMA reporter Jeremy Botter cited multiple sources saying that the plan is for Lesnar vs. Cormier at UFC 230 in Madison Square Garden. That is interesting because Lesnar still needs to serve 6 months from his UFC 200 suspension. At the press conference, White said “I think” he still needs to serve 6 months. If that is the case, then he would be eligible to fight at the UFC show in late December and not in November at MSG. The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will host UFC 232 on December 29.

White said that Lesnar is “free and clear” to do this fight and Lesnar is not going to do anything to piss Vince McMahon off. White said he did not talk to McMahon about this fight but he is sure that Lesnar let McMahon know what is going on. White said that he does not know what Lesnar’s contract terms are with WWE.
