Smackdown Reportedly Moving Back to Friday Night As Part of Their Deal With Fox

There is a big update on TheWrap.com concerning Smackdown Live’s move to the Fox Network. The show will move there in October 2019 and the deal is said to be a “massive” offer following last week’s news that Raw would be staying on NBCUniversal (USA) for almost 3-times the amount they are currently getting.

The Wrap notes that Smackdown would move to Friday’s, which could mean that the show would go back to a taped format.

Smackdown Live has been WWE’s “B” show since it’s inception on the UPN Network in 1999. The show has bounced around over the years. It started on Thursday night’s on UPN and then eventually moved to the CW, MyNetwork TV, the SyFy Network and then eventually became a live show again on Tuesday nights on the USA Network.

WWE and Fox have declined to comment on the story.
