Brock Lesnar is on the verge of breaking a WWE World Championship title record.
Lesnar’s current WWE Universal Championship title reign sits at 397 days after capturing the championship at last year’s WrestleMania by defeating Bill Goldberg. If The Beast Incarnate doesn’t defend the championship until the Money in the Bank event, his reign will be at 441 days — surpassing CM Punk’s 434 day championship record. This record currently sits as the longest WWE World Championship reign since Hulk Hogan‘s first WWE Title reign from 1984-1988.
With Lesnar not currently scheduled to defend the championship at Sunday’s WWE Backlash event and the company saving Lesnar’s matches strictly for pay-per-view events, it’s safe to say he’s going to beat Punk’s record.
