On the Backlash go-home edition of last week’s Smackdown Live, there was a segment featuring Big Cass and a little person dressed as Daniel Bryan. The segment featured Cass hitting the little guy with a big boot and followed by a barrage of punches and slaps to the face.
The problem is that Cass went into business for himself. Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that the script only called for Cass to hit the little person with the big boot. However, prior to the segment, Cass felt that the punches were needed so he went to officials and they shot down his idea. He then went to Vince McMahon and he shot him down as well.
However, during the segment, the big boot happened as scripted but he decided to go against his boss’ wishes and then proceeded to throw the punches despite being told not to.
WWE officials were said to be unhappy about this. Ryan Satin described it as Cass being in “hot water” with management. This might explain why he lost to Daniel Bryan at Backlash on Sunday and why he was not featured on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live.
