Cass has been out since August 2017 with a torn ACL. It was believed that he would be out until May but it looks like he will be back working the storylines before then.
- Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated speculated in his weekly update that either Daniel Bryan or Shane McMahon could be turning heel at Sunday’s WrestleMania 34 event. Barrasso predicts it will be Shane turning as a way to position Bryan as significant underdog against an authority figure.
The show is expected to exceed the length of the average school day and run for seven hours, and the crowd could riot if Daniel Bryan turns heel.Barrasso’s remarks are purely speculation but it’s worth noting that many others in the business are also predicting that Shane could in fact turn on Bryan at Sunday’s event.
I do expect there to be a heel turn in the Bryan/McMahon tag against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, but the swerve has to be McMahon turning heel. In addition to completely rejuvenating McMahon’s character, this also allows the company to re-insert Bryan as the ultimate underdog trying to overcome the authority. That served as the formula for success, and there is no need to stray from such a lucrative storyline.
