Many of you may have noticed that there was no crowd noise during the backstage promos at Greatest Royal Rumble. The reason why is because the backstage stuff was not shown on the live screens. WWE took a few minutes do backstage interviews with Chris Jericho and Daniel Bryan so they could kill some time while the fans in the stadium could pray. We reported earlier that a prayer session was scheduled during the show and it would last about 15 minutes.
In other news, Hornswoggle returned for one show. Apparently, plans were changed for him and he was not originally planned for the 50-Man Royal Rumble match. PWInsider reports that he was originally booked for a Kickoff Show match against Robbie Araujo. Araujo once worked on the mini’s color commentary table during Hornswoggle’s WeeLC match against El Torito on the 2014 Extreme Rules Kickoff show.
At some point during the day, the decision was made to put Swoggle in the Rumble match. Araujo was at the arena in Saudi Arabia but there was nothing for him to do since plans were changed for Swoggle.
Swoggle commented on his WWE return on Twitter:
Life is pretty crazy sometimes! Thanks @wwe for having me a part of the #WWEGRR ! Got to dust off the ol’ suit for the first time in almost 10 years! pic.twitter.com/X4w4DwpfMv— Dylan Postl (@wwehornswoggle) April 27, 2018
