The Shield made their triumphant return in the latter half of 2017, to the delight of the WWE Universe. However, their reunion was cut short when Roman Reigns had to sit out the TLC pay-per-view for medical reasons.
Furthermore, things got more disappointing when news of Dean Ambrose’s brutal injury surfaced in December last year. It was also reported earlier this week that Dean Ambrose’s recovery period might be longer than previously expected.
It was reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE possibly does not plan on continuing a Shield reunion, even after Ambrose’s return. Apparently, in a list of DVDs scheduled to release in 2018, one title seems to signal that the Shield will not be reuniting anytime soon.
“The Rise and Fall of The Shield”, the title of the DVD reads and is scheduled to be released on the 9th of July. It is interesting to note that this is also when WWE starts off with their SummerSlam buildups.
The title of the DVD is a matter of concern since whenever WWE has released a DVD of such a title, it usually gives more emphasis on its downfall than it’s rise.
