As seen below, WWE did an injury angle with AJ Styles at last night’s Madison Square Garden event which led to some fans believing that Styles was really hurt.
Styles was scheduled to team with Shinsuke Nakamura against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Owens and Zayn attacked Styles and Nakamura from behind with Styles appearing to have a leg injury as a result of the attack. One of the referees reportedly gave an “X” sign and Styles was helped to the back. Nakamura ended up facing Owens in a singles match which ended when Zayn interfered. Styles came back out with a steel chair and attacked Owens and Zayn.
