WWE RAW Results – Dec 18, 2017

– We begin this week’s Raw with a look back at the match that was supposed to determine who would face Brock Lesnar at The Royal Rumble, but the match ended in a double count out. Who will be the man to face Brock in Philadelphia?

– Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring. Kurt welcomes everyone to Raw and he mentions last week’s match to determine Brock Lesnar’s challenger. Since there was no decisive winner we do not have an opponent. By the end of the night, Kurt says he will choose the opponent for Brock.

Braun Strowman makes his way to the ring.

Braun says he earned the right to face Brock as he was the only man left standing last week, which is why Angle should pick him to get the title shot at the Rumble. Kane’s music interrupts and out he comes. Kane says he’s caused more destruction than anyone in WWE in the last 20 years, so there’s no way anyone is stepping up in front of him. Kane says Lesnar’s list of victims is impressive and it does include his brother, The Undertaker, it does not include Kane. Kane says he will get his chance at the Rumble unless Braun is man enough to stop him. Angle gets in between the two big men as they face off. We hear a “Ladies and gentlemen…” as Paul Heyman interrupts to a pop.

Heyman comes to the stage and says we’re not having this discussion without input from the champion. Heyman does a big entrance for The Beast as fans go along with him. The music hits and out comes WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Kane and Strowman stare Lesnar down as he hops up on the apron. Angle says he needs to quickly make his announcement before things get out of hand. He announces a Triple Threat for the Rumble. Angle quickly leaves the ring and the three giants size each other up.

Kane and Strowman go after Lesnar first. Lesnar ends u sending Braun over the top rope to the floor. Kane and Lesnar go at it now. Lesnar gets the upperhand after blocking a chokeslam, and drops Kane with the F5. Lesnar takes the title and leaves as his music hits. Heyman and Lesnar watch from the stage as Kane sits up. Kane stares Lesnar down from the ring.

– Still to come, Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe. We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and Jason Jordan’s music plays instead of Seth’s opponent, Samoa Joe.

Jason tells Seth he understands he is not the guy that Seth wants to see right now. You want Samoa Joe. Jason says you are not the only one. He says he has been asking Kurt Angle for a match against Samoa Joe for two weeks. Jason gets to the ring and he says he is done asking. He says he has nothing but respect for Seth, but if you have a bone to pick with Samoa Joe, you have to pick them when he is done. Seth gets a mic and he tells Jason he respects and appreciates him. He says that he knows that Jason has Kurt’s voice in his head that he needs to win. This is not your big opportunity…

Samoa Joe’s music plays and he makes his way to the stage to speak. Joe says this is nice. He feels like the belle of the ball and all of the popular people want to dance with him. Joe says he believes in simple solutions. Why not have Jason Jordan versus Seth Rollins and the winner gets beat down and put to sleep by him. Seth says that sounds wonderful but the match has already been made between him and Joe. He tells Joe to mosey on down and kick in his teeth while Jordan looks elsewhere for his daddy’s approval. Jordan pushes Rollins down and we have a match.

Seth Rollins vs. Jason Jordan

Rollins avoids Jordan when Jordan wants to lock up. Jordan with a take down into a waist lock and take down. Jordan with a waist lock take down and he gets a near fall. Jordan with a side head lock. Jordan with a shoulder tackle and Rollins with a kick and he clotheslines Jordan over the top rope and he lands on Joe’s feet.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Jordan with a shoulder tackle and shoulders to Rollins. Rollins with a thrust kick and he sends Jordan to the floor. Rollins comes off the apron but Jordan catches Seth and runs him into the ringside barrier. Jordan gets a near fall. Jordan punches Rollins and connects with forearms to the kidneys and shoulders to the lower back. Jordan with a hard Irish whip for a near fall. Jordan runs Rollins into the turnbuckles. Rollins chops Jordan and applies a front face lock.

Jordan runs Rollins into the turnbuckles again. Jordan kicks Rollins in the back and applies a rear chin lock. Jordan runs Rollins into the corner two more times and then he picks Rollins up and does it a third time. Jordan with a running shoulder into the corner and he gets a near fall. Jordan punches Rollins. Rollins with chops but Jordan with a back breaker and he gets a near fall. Jordan with a rear chin lock and his knee in Rollins’ back.

Rollins with punches but Jordan with a knee and he tries for a belly-to-back suplex but Rollins turns the hips to counter into a lateral press and he gets a near fall. Rollins with a flatline into the turnbuckles. Jordan blocks a super kick and Jordan hits an exploder as we go to commercial.

We are back and we miss Rollins hitting slingblade and he is sent to the apron. Rollins with a kick and springboard clothesline for a near fall. Rollins with a running forearm into the corner. Jordan with a suplex and he gets a near fall. Rollins sets for the V Trigger but Jordan blocks it. Rollins sends Jordan to the floor and hits a baseball slide and then he hits a suicide dive.

The referee makes his count and both get back into the ring at nine. Rollins is caught on a springboard attempt and Jordan hits two rolling Northern Lights suplexes and Jordan gets a near fall. Jordan puts Rollins on teh turnbuckles for a superplex but Rollins blocks it. Rollins punches Jordan off the turnbuckles and then Jordan leaps to the turnbuckles again and Rollins with a head butt. Rollins with a frog splash for a near fall.

Rollins with a running knee off the apron and then Rollins gets in Joe’s face and Joe gets up from his seat. Joe tells Rollins to finish his match and Rollins sends Jordan into Joe and Rollins with a super kick to Joe. Rollins sends Jordan back into the ring and Jordan with a near fall. Rollins with the V Trigger for the three count.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After the match, Rollins stands tall as his music hits but Joe attacks him. They brawl to the floor and back inside the ring as the referee tries to break them up. Joe with a cheap shot and a Uranage to plant Rollins onto the mat. Joe mounts Rollins and beats on him as more referees are out now. Joe leaves and talks trash from the ramp. Jordan is down on the floor being checked on while Rollins recovers.

– We are back with a look at what happened at the end of the Seth Rollins versus Jason Jordan match and the post match actions.

Backstage:

Seth Rollins tells Kurt Angle he wants a shot at Samoa Joe tonight. Dean says he is looking for a piece of Joe too. Jason Jordan shows up and asks Kurt if he saw what Joe did to him. They argue and Kurt says that they will face Samoa Joe in a six man tag match that also includes Sheamus and Cesaro.

– We go back three weeks when Matt Hardy lost to Bray Wyatt and then deleted himself in the corner.

Backstage:

Bray Wyatt appears and he asks what is it. What is it that draws us to Woken Matt Hardy. Is it his voice or the words he speaks? Is it his childish laugh? Is it all of his funny faces? It is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. That is where he comes in. He will make sure the right people get hurt. That person is Matt Hardy. If Matt wants to continue on this little chess match, he is ready. He will play by the rules. The Great War must end. He tells Matt to run.

2-on-1 Handicap Match: Finn Balor vs. The Miztourage

We go to the ring and out comes Finn Balor. We go back to commercial as he hits the ring.

Dallas starts things off and Bo tries to back Balor into the corner but he avoids Axel. Dallas pulls Balor towards the corner but Balor kicks Dallas away. Axel tags in. Axel with a waist lock and he moves Balor towards the corner but Balor is able to get away. Axel with an elbow and he runs Balor into the corner and connects with shoulders. Dallas tags in and he kicks Balor. Axel tags in and he kicks Balor. Balor with elbows to Bo and Axel but Axel with an elbow.

Axel with a sunset flip but Balor rolls through and Balor hits a drop kick for a near fall. Balor with a reverse chin lock. Balor knocks Bo off the apron when he tries to interfere and Axel with a Northern Lariat. Axel with kicks in the corner and then he sends Balor into the turnbuckles. Dallas tags in and he hits a short arm clothesline and gets a near fall. Dallas with a reverse chin lock. Balor with a running forearm to Dallas and then he hits a double stomp after a double leg take down. Axel breaks up the cover and the referee pulls Axel off Balor.

Axel tags in and he kicks Balor and sends him into the turnbuckles. Axel puts Balor on the turnbuckles and sets for a superplex. Balor knocks Axel off the turnbuckles and Bo stops Balor from hitting the Coup De Grace. Axel and Bo attack Balor and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner by DQ: Finn Balor

After the match, Axel and Bo attack Balor and Hideo Itami’s music plays and he comes to the ring. Itami with kicks to Axel and then a back heel kick to Dallas. Itami with a round kick while Balor holds Dallas. They celebrate as we go to commercial.

– We are back and we have a tag match.

Hideo Itami and Finn Balor vs. Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas

Itami tags in and he hits a double sledge and then works on the arm. Balor tags in and he goes up top and hits a double sledge to the arm. Balor and Axel argue on the apron and Bo with a thumb to the eye and clothesline. Axel tags in and so does Balor. Axel with a back breaker. Axel with a knee to the ribs and a kick. Axel with a knee to the back and an arm bar and chin lock. Bo tags in and Axel with a running knee. Dallas gets a near fall.

Bo sends Balor into the turnbuckles. Axel with a snap mare and reverse chin lock. Axel with a knee and then he misses a Stinger Splash when Balor moves. Itami tags in and he knocks Dallas off the apron. Itami with a knee as he goes to the apron. Itami with a clothesline off the turnbuckles and he gets a near fall. Itami kicks Axel and then connects with a series of strikes and a flying knee for a near fall. Balor with a Slingblade to Axel and he clotheslines Dallas over the top rope to the floor. Itami with a hesitation drop kick into the corner while Balor hits a running drop kick to Dallas against the ringside barrier.

Itami gets Axel up and hits the GTS for the three count.

Winners: HIdeo Itami and Finn Balor

Backstage:

Renee Young is with Cedric Alexander. He is asked about his match against Drew Gulak and whether he is overlooking Drew. Cedric says he wants to be Cruiserweight Champion. He wants to beat Enzo and represent 205 Live. He wants to show everyone what the cruiserweights are made of. He cannot do it all in one night. He got a second chance and he is going to take advantage of it. He says he will not be overlooking Drew unless his is standing over him with his hand raised. We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and Enzo Amore makes his way to the ring with Drew Gulak. Enzo says we are going to get a showdown when Drew Gulak faces Cedric Alexander. He says it will rival anything you will see in the new Star Wars movie. Enzo gives his mic to Drew.

Drew thanks Enzo and he says if we are going to talk Star Wars, he considers himself a Jar Jar Binks. He says that is a hero. Tonight is the biggest match of his life and he owes it all to his mentor and his best friend, Enzo Amore. Cedric’s music interrupts and we are ready for the match!

Drew Gulak vs. Cedric Alexander in a Number One Contender’s Match

They lock up and Cedric backs Drew into the corner and he breaks the hold. Drew with a single leg take down. Alexander with a side head lock and take down. Alexander with a head scissors and drop kick that sends Gulak to the floor. Alexander with a plancha onto Gulak and they return to the ring and Cedric gets a near fall. Alexander with chops as they go around the ring. Gulak with a waist lock but Alexander with a front face lock.

Gulak tries to suplex Alexander over the top rope to the floor but Alexander holds on and they both go over the top rope to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Drew with a hard Irish whip. We see Drew knock Cedric off the turnbuckles to the floor and Cedric appears to have hurt his back. Drew with an Irish whip and clothesline for a near fall.

Alexander with punches and a back body drop. Alexander with a clothesline but Drew with chops. Drew with a sunset flip for a near fall but Alexander gets a near fall. Drew with a jackknife cover for a near fall. Drew misses a clothesline and Alexander with a standing C4 for a near fall. Alexander with a chop.

Drew blocks a handspring elbow and applies an ankle lock and then he applies a modified Regal stretch. Alexander gets to the ropes to force Gulak to remove the hold. Enzo gets up from the announce table and he walks to the back. Drew looks dejected and Alexander with an enzuigiri. Drew with a chop but Alexander with chops of his own. Drew with a boot but Alexander blocks it and he connects with a back elbow. Cedric with a springboard clothesline and he hits the Lumbar Check for the three count.

Winner: Cedric Alexander

After the match, Cedric stands tall as his music hits.

– Still to come, Absolution will be in action. Also, Asuka is up next. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and we see Enzo walking in the back and he sees Nia Jax and Nia is smiling. Enzo says he got the DM. Nia says she thought that they could finish their conversation. Nia mentions Drew and Enzo says that Drew is not his friend and he just works for him.

Drew stops by and his nose is bleeding and he has a tissue in the nose. He tells Enzo that he lost and it is not alright. Drew says he let Enzo and the Zo Train down. They need to talk about it. Nia says they should talk about it and she will talk to Enzo some other time. Drew says he does not know what happened out there and he will review the tapes and see what went wrong. Drew says if they could go over it together… Enzo screams that Drew did a lot of things wrong and he walks away.

Asuka vs. Alicia Fox

We see Alicia Fox mentioning that Paige and her fangirls ruined her match against Asuka. Lightning will not strike twice. She will use what she learned and win and end the undefeated streak. If she loses, she will freak out.

Alicia tries to stay away from Asuka. Alicia avoids a punch and backs into the ropes. Alicia has a kick blocked and Asuka with a waist lock. Asuka with a side head lock. Asuka with a shoulder tackle.

Alicia gets to the ropes when Asuka tries for a cross arm breaker. Alicia goes to the floor and kicks Asuka and then connects with a boot to the head for a near fall. Alicia with strike like moves to Asuka followed by a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall. Alicia with a reverse chin lock.

Alicia with a forearm and Asuka wants more. Asuka with strikes and Asuka goes to the turnbuckles and hits a missile drop kick. Asuka with a running hip attack into the corner followed by a biel. Asuka with a round kick to the head and she rolls into the cross arm breaker and Alicia taps out.

Winner: Asuka

After the match, Asuka stands tall as her music hits and Fox recovers. We go to replays.

– Still to come, Joe and The Bar vs. Jordan, Rollins and Ambrose. We go back to commercial.

Samoa Joe and The Bar vs. Jason Jordan, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose

Back from the break and out comes Samoa Joe to the ring. We see what happened earlier with Joe, Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins. Out next come RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Sheamus. Jordan is out first for his team as some fans boo. Rollins and Dean Ambrose are out next.

Rollins starts off and he wants Joe but Sheamus will start the match. Jordan tags himself in to start the match. Jordan with a forearm to Joe and then he punches Sheamus. Sheamus with a kick and Irish whip. Jordan with elbows but Sheamus with a clothesline. Joe tags in and he punches Jordan. Cesaro tags in and he connects with European uppercuts. Sheamus tags in and he kicks Jordan. Sheamus gets a near fall. Cesaro tags in and he goes up top and connects with a boot to the chest. Cesaro gets a near fall. Cesaro gets between Jordan and his corner and Jordan with a belly-to-back suplex.

Rollins tags in and hits a springboard clothesline to Cesaro and he follows with slingblade. Cesaro with a rollup for a near fall. Rollins with a jumping thrust kick for a near fall. Cesaro with an elbow and then he sends Rollins to the apron. Rollins with a slingshot leg drop to teh back of the head. Rollins with a pescado and he gets back into the ring as we go to commercial.

We are back and Sheamus with a forearm and he works on the kidney area. Sheamus chokes Rollins in the ropes. Joe tags in and he connects with a forearm. Joe with knees and he jabs Rollins in the corner. Joe with a snap mare and a chin lock using Rollins arm to add more pressure to the hold. Rollins wtih a jaw breaker but Joe with a running back elbow for a near fall. Sheamus tags in and he gets Rollins up for a back breaker and Cesaro with an elbow drop for a near fall. Sheamus kicks Rollins from the apron and Cesaro gets a near fall. Sheamus tags back in and Rolilns tries to fight to his corner but Sheamus with a uranage back breaker.

Sheamus with a second uranage back breaker. Rollins escapes a third attempt and hits a DDT. Both men are down. Joe tags in and he stops Rollins from making the tag. Joe with an Irish whip followed by an elbow and enzuigiri in the corner. Jordan breaks up the cover and he is thrown to the floor by Sheamus and Cesaro. Sheamus tags in and he gets Rollins up for White Noise but Rollins counters with a sunset flip for a near fall. Sheamus misses a running shoulder into the corner and he hits the ring post.

Cesaro tags in and he slides in front of Rollins to pull him into the corner and prevent the tag. Rollins blocks a butterfly suplex but Cesaro keeps Rollins from powering his way to the corner. Cesaro with a knee and he sends Rollins to the floor. Joe and Sheamus attack Rollins and Ambrose and Jordan go after Sheamus and Joe. Sheamus is sent into the ring post while Jordan is sent into Yeatonville. Rollins with a back body drop to Cesaro on the floor. Ambrose sends Rollins into the ring and Ambrose gets on the apron to try to make the tag.

Cesaro kicks Ambrose off the apron but Rollins clotheslines Cesaro over the top rope and he sends Joe to the floor when Joe charges. Rollins with a suicide dive onto Joe, Cesaro, and Ambrose. Rollins is rolled back into the ring and Sheamus with a Brogue Kick for the three count.

Winners: Samoa Joe, Cesaro, and Sheamus

– A limousine arrives and Stephanie McMahon emerges.

Backstage:

We are back and Matt Hardy is playing chess and he has hit checkmate. He says it is like the battle at the Loo of Water where your horses were eradicated. We live and learn and we see that Matt is talking to his fish Napoleon. He says that maybe when you have a homo sapien vessel, we can battle again.

The vast grounds of the WWE are a battleground. Every move must be precise. One mistake can lead to annihilation. They have been doing this twisted little tango since the beginning of existence. Matt says he will be brighter than any shadow that Bray can provide. He will stand with his Woken Warriors against Bray Wyatt and Sister Abigail.

Matt says they must be deleted. DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!

– We see footage from the end of the six man tag match and they talk about Dean Ambrose’s arm.

Backstage:

Cole talks about Dean Ambrose hurting his arm i the last match. The cameras go backstage to Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins near the trainer’s room. Samoa Joe and The Bar attack them and lay them both out. Joe warns that they are never safe, then drops a production case onto Ambrose’s arm before they team up to send Rollins into the concrete wall. They leave as trainer’s check on Ambrose and Rollins. Back to commercial.

– We are back and we have a Moments Ago Moment of the attack on Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe by Sheamus, Cesaro, and Samoa Joe.

Heath Slater and Rhyno vs. The Revival

We go to the ring and out comes The Revival making their returns. We see a quick video for Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, who have been away due to Dawson suffering a bicep injury in August. Rhyno and Heath Slater wait in the ring.

Rhyno and Wilder start things off and Rhyno with a shoulder tackle. Slater tags in and they hit a double back elbow and get a near fall. We see Dana, Titus, and Apollo watch in the back. Dawson tags in and he punches Slater. Slater with an Irish whip and splash into teh corner. Wilder pulls Dawson out of the corner and Dawson with a short arm clothesline. Dawson punches Slater. Wilder tags in and he gets a near fall.

Wilder with a European uppercut and reverse chin lock. Slater sends Wilder to the mat but Dawson tags in and Slater with a leg lariat. Wilder tries to stop the tag and Rhyno with a punch. Slater and Wilder bump heads. Wilder pulls Rhyno off the apron and Slater with a forearm to Wilder. Slater punches Dawson. Wilder tags in and they hit Shatter Machine for the three count.

Winners: The Revival

– Stephanie McMahon is in the office talking to Kurt Angle. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Slater and Rhyno are walking in the back. Kurt Angle comes out and tells them that they need to tough up as we approach the new year so they can have opportunities. Slater says he hopes they don’t get fired, he has kids. Rhyno says they need to change their attitude. Rhyno says they need to toughen up. Slater wants to know if this is going to hurt.

In the Arena:

Elias is in the ring and he has a song for everyone, but he wants to know who wants to walk with Elias. Elias says he has crossed paths with Tom Brady. Tom told him that Elias’ music is the soundtrack for his success. He listens to Elias’ music as he gets ready for games, deflating footballs and manipulating the rule books. Elias says he is a legend. He has taken Roman Reigns to the limit and he has survived Braun Strowman. Elias vows to win the Royal Rumble.

Elias has a song for a good friend of his, Roger Goddell.

Sasha Banks interrupts Elias and makes her way to the ring. Elias thanks Sasha for joining him so he can do his thing.

Mickie James comes out to the ring and maybe we get a duet with Elias and the country star. Elias says the women want to walk with Elias and he tells them they can jump in and join him.

Bayley interrupts Elias as well and Elias has had enough. Bayley wants a hug but Elias walks away. We go to commercial.

Mickie James, Sasha Banks, and Bayley vs. Paige, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville

Paige and Mickie start things off and Mickie with forearms and a round kick and a jumping kick and flying forearm. Sasha tags in and they hit a double suplex. Sasha gets a near fall.

Paige with a forearm and Sasha with a kick. Sasha hits Mandy on the apron and Paige with a kick for a near fall. Mandy tags in and she kicks Sasha. Sonya tags in and she punches Sasha. Paige tags back in and she runs into a boot and Sasha fights out of the corner, but Paige with a clothesline for a near fall.

Paige kicks Mickie off the apron while Mandy and Sonya go after Sasha on the floor. Sonya attacks Bayley on the floor while Mandy goes after Mickie. Mickie kicks Mandy while Sonya punches Bayley. Sasha goes up top and hits a seated splash but Mandy breaks up the cover and Sonya and Mandy attack Sasha.

The referee calls for the bell.

Winners: Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James (by disqualification)

Nia Jax’ music plays and she walks to the ring. They go after Nia but Nia pushes them away. Nia pushes Sonya away and head butts Mandy. Nia sends Sonya and Mandy into the corner and then she picks both of them up for a double Samoan drop.

Paige clips Nia and hits a running knee to the head. Paige kicks Nia and then Sonya and Mandy join in.

The rest of the women’s roster come to the ring and everyone fights. They continue until the music for Stephanie McMahon plays and she makes her way to the ring.

Stephanie takes the mic and she says a revolution started three years ago by the women in the ring and on Smackdown. Stephanie says you turned the revolution into an evolution. The diva division turned into the women’s division. You have main evented shows and pay per views. We have had the first Money in the Bank match with women, the first Hell in a Cell match, and they had the first women’s match in the Middle East.

Stephanie says it is time to make history again. She announces an all-women’s Royal Rumble match for the first time at the January 28th pay-per-view. Stephanie says if there ever was a time for a “Yes!” chant it’s now and the crowd gives her one. The red brand women’s division celebrates with Stephanie as RAW goes off the air.
