RAW General Manager Kurt Angle announced on tonight’s RAW from Providence, RI that WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will defend against Kane and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat at the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
Kurt came to the ring, and was quickly followed by Braun Strowman and Kane, who each made their case for who should have the title shot against Lesnar. Paul Heyman came out and said this talk isn’t happening without Lesnar, who made his way to the ring. Kurt looked a little rattled and knew they might come to blows, and quickly announced the triple threat match and got out of the way.
Just like he thought, the three ended up slugging it out, with Brock hitting Kane with a F-5 before leaving the ring. Kane sat up after taking the move, and Braun and Brock both stared down Kane as the segment closed.
The 2018 Rumble event takes place on January 28th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The main event of the night will be the Royal Rumble match with a WrestleMania 34 title shot up for grabs.
