WWE Smackdown Results – Nov 21, 2017

WWE Smackdown Opener:

We begin with highlights from the main event of Smackdown and the actions of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn during the match.

– We are in Houston, Texas and your announcers are Byron Saxton, Byron Saxton, and Tom Phillips.

– Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring and despite losing on Sunday, he is able to do the Shane-O Shuffle on the stage.

Shane says Team SmackDown was so close on Sunday but they came up short. Shane says his sister and her husband will try to spin this but SmackDown proved, even in defeat, that they will be called The Show from now on in WWE. Shane talks about how he’s proud of the Team SmackDown members for bringing it but it’s not just Survivor Series, they bring it each week. Shane says they do it every week, except for two individuals. He calls Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to the ring.

Kevin asks what do they get tonight? Death defying Shane McMahon or Drunk with Power Commissioner Shane McMahon. Kevin says it must be so hard to come out every week with another excuse why you failed. Sami says it must be exhausting. Sami asks Kevin if it is harder to come up with new excuses for failing or man up and apologize when you were wrong.

Kevin says Shane should be on his knees begging them for forgiveness because they can beat anyone. They would have beaten the Shield. They would have beaten Raw’s team in a 2 on 5 situation. Either of them could and would beat Brock Lesnar. Kevin tells Shane to be a man and tell them that he is sorry.

Shane says you are speaking to the commissioner tonight. Shane tells Kevin to shut his mouth for the first time. You have no respect for any superstar in WWE, especially the Smackdown roster. Shane says that they have no respect for him. Shane says that they have no respect for anyone in the arena tonight. Sami agrees with all of them.

Shane says he will deliver two words for them.

Kevin says he knows where Shane is going and he says Shane cannot fire him. They are too vaulable. The locker room wants to be like them. Sami says Shane would be a damn fool to do anything to two future WWE Hall of Famers. Kevin says there is no one who does not think that they are the top two superstars in WWE.

Shane calls them delusional. Shane says he will take great pride in saying those two words to Kevin and Sami. How delusional are you to think you are the top two superstars in WWE? Do you realize the entire locker room hates your guts? They have no respect for either of you. Shane calls them the biggest megalomaniacs to step in a WWE ring.

Shane tells Sami and Kevin: you’re…

Daniel Bryan interrupts and he makes his way to the ring. Daniel says that Shane has every right to fire these two, but before you do, Daniel tells Shane to put his personal feelings aside.

Kevin says that Daniel is the voice of reason and Sami says that Daniel is reasonable and will not let Shane…

Daniel tells Sami to shut up. He says he has a better temporary solution than to terminate their contracts. Everybody hates their guts. Daniel says he had to send Randy Orton home because he said he would not be responsible for what they did. The New Day are angry at them for what happened last week. Daniel says they will get to prove it tonight when they face the New Day.

Sami says that is bogus and it is not fair because there are three of them.

Daniel tells Sami to shut up. He says everybody hates him and wants to get their hands on them. Tonight, they just might. The entire locker room will be surrounding the ring during your match. If you try to escape, they will gang up on you and throw you back in the ring. Kevin and Sami, not only will you face the New Day, but you will face them in a Lumberjack Match.

– Still to come, Charlotte Flair defends against Natalya. Also, WWE Champion AJ Styles will be here to address a challenge from Jinder Mahal. We see Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable backstage. We also see The Usos. We go to commercial.

Jey Uso vs. Shelton Benjamin

They lock up and Benjamin backs Jey into the corner and he gives a clean break. They lock up again and Benjamin misses a punch and Jey connects with punches. Shelton with a knee to the midsection and shoulder tackle. Jey with a back elbow. Benjamin sends Jey to the apron but Jey with a punch. Jey goes to the turnbuckles but Benjamin with a running knee to knock Jey to the floor.

We go to split screen and Benjamin slams Jey on the floor. Benjamin rolls Jey into the ring and he connects with a knee and punches. Jey with uppercuts. Benjamin with forearms to Jey against the ropes.

Benjamin with a hard Irish whip. Benjamin uses the ropes to choke Jey and then he pulls Jey back from the apron and applies a reverse chin lock. Jey with elbows but Shelton with a spinebuster and he gets a near fall. Benjamin with a reverse chin lock.

Jey with punches and uppercuts. Benjamin with a knee and then he tries for a belly-to-back suplex but Jey lands on his feet and hits a thrust kick followed by another kick and a Samoan Drop. Jey with a running hip strike in the corner. Benjamin rolls to the floor.

Gable gets in the way when Jey tries for a suicide dive. Jimmy pulls him off the apron but Gable sends Jimmy into the crowd. Benjamin with a rollup for a near fall. Jey with a super kick and he gets a near fall. Gable tries to interfere but Jey stops him. Jey goes up top and misses the splash and Shelton with Paydirt for the three count.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Backstage:

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are telling someone that they know he isn’t a fan of Shane. We see it is Baron Corbin and he asks what is in it for him. He says he doesn’t like Kevin or Sami. Kevin and Sami see Bobby Roode. They offer to give Bobby the chance to be someone instead of one of Shane’s guys. Kevin tells Bobby he can be different during the lumberjack match. Bobby reminds Kevin and Sami that he was in the match that they ruined. Bobby says they ruined it not just for him, but the entire locker room. Bobby says he owes both of them a receipt. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Naomi is in the makeup area. She says she was bummed that they lost the elimination match but it was good to see Charlotte win. Ruby Riot stops by and she says hello to Naomi. She also introduces Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. They attack Naomi. Becky Lynch attacks them from behind but Logan sends Becky into a case and then into a table. Liv pushes the table onto Becky and then they slam Becky into the door and they close the door on Becky.

Backstage:

Daniel and Shane are in the office and Shane says he was surprised to see the new talent from NXT. Shane also likes the idea of the lumberjack match. At least New Day and everyone else get to put their hands on him and then Daniel can fire him. Shane says he is going to his hotel to watch this and he wishes Daniel luck tonight.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley

Rowan with a shoulder tackle to Mojo and then he knocks Ryder off the apron. Harper with a boot to Ryder and then he sends Zack into the ring steps. Rowan with a slam to Mojo and Harper tags in. Harper slaps Rowan and sends him into Mojo. Harper with a boot to the head and Rowan tags in. They pick up Rawley and send him to the mat with a double power bomb for the three count.

Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers

Backstage:

Natalya is in the interview area and she is asked about the changing landscape of the women’s division. Natalya says the only change they have to worry about is the title change when she beats Charlotte. Charlotte is riding high after the biggest week of her career. She won the title last week and her father, the hot mess, Ric Flair came out to congratulate her. Charlotte beat Alexa on Sunday, but Natalya says her cat could beat Alexa. Charlotte thinks she is Wonder Woman and we need to wonder which woman beats her for the title. Natalya says she will win tonight and be the champion forever. We go to commercial.

– We are back with a look back at the match between AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar from Survivor Series.

In the Arena:

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.

AJ says he wishes he could have been out here celebrating slaying the Beast at Survivor Series, but it did not happen. AJ says he tried every trick in the book but Brock is the beast that they say he is. AJ says people congratulated him for holding his own against Lesnar. AJ says that even Paul Heyman respected the effort. AJ says you don’t get trophies for second place. After his match at Survivor Series, AJ says he wasn’t the one limping to the back. If you ever want a rematch, in the sequel to Rocky, he wins.

AJ says that we are here to talk about Smackdown. AJ says he is a little salty because someone said they were going to take his title from him on Smackdown. Jinder Mahal said he was going to take the title away from him right here on Smackdown. AJ puts the belt down in the center of the ring and he tells Jinder to come here and take it from him.

Jinder Mahal appears on the TitanTron. He says this is not how it works. He comes down when he wants. Jinder says he has been watching AJ’s match with Brock over and over. Jinder says two weeks ago, you took advantage of him because Jinder says he was preparing for Brock. Jinder says if he faced Brock, he would be hailed now as the BeastMaster.

AJ says that sounds so stupid. If you don’t want to come down now, you are rested because you didn’t do anything at Survivor Series.

Jinder says he will have his title match when he wants. He had the people of India looking up to him. Jinder says he chooses when he wants his rematch. Jinder says that AJ is a disgrace to the title. We will clash in a place more deserving than Texas. Jinder says he will be invoking his rematch clause at Clash of Champions.

Jinder laughs as AJ looks on. The Singh Brothers suddenly hit the ring and attack AJ. AJ takes out Sunil and then Samir as Jinder watches on the big screen. AJ fights Samir into the ring while Sunil is down on the floor. AJ stares at Jinder before hitting a Styles Clash on Samir. AJ raises the title as his music hits. Jinder reminds him of their match at Clash.

Backstage:

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn continue to look for people to help them and they come upon Aiden English serenading Rusev. Sami and Kevin applaud Aiden’s song and Sami says they do not buy into Thanksgiving because they are French Canadian. They would rather celebrate Rusev Day. Kevin says they were not screwing over Smackdown. They are here to make sure that people screwed over by Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan. They remind Rusev that his qualifying match was cancelled for John Cena to get on the team. Sami says that Rusev Day is better than the New Day. Back to commercial.

Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya for the Women’s Title

Natalya with a side head lock and take down followed by kicks. Charlotte with a back elbow and chops. Natalya with a discus clothesline and then she sets for the Sharpshooter but Charlotte kicks her away. Natalya sends Charlotte hard into the turnbuckles.

Charlotte gotes to the floor and Natalya follows. Natalya with kicks and then she sends Charlotte into the ringside barrier. Natalya slaps Charlotte and sends her back into the ring. Natalya gets a near fall. Natalya with kicks and she hits a suplex. Natalya walks across Charlotte’s midsection a few times and then she gyrates but that allows Charlotte to get a near fall with a rollup. Charlotte does the Flair flip to the apron and then connects with a shoulder and rollup.

Charlotte with a neck breaker followed by an exploder. Natalya slaps Charlotte but Charlotte with a kick and sunset flip. Natalya rolls through and hits a drop kick. Natalya with punches in the corner and Natalya is pulled out of the corner. Charlotte with an elbow and punches. Natalya with a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Natalya sets for the Sharpshooter and she locks it in. Charlotte gets to the ropes and Natalya releases the hold. Charlotte with a back breaker and then she sends Natalya into the turnbuckles.

Charlotte goes up top for a moonsault but Natalya gets her feet up. Charlotte with a spear when Natalya goes for a discus clothesline. Natalya rolls to the floor.

Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan attack Natalya and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Natalya (by disqualification)

After the match, they continue the attack on Natalya and send her into the announce table and ring post. They see Charlotte in the ring and they enter. Charlotte kicks Logan but the numbers are too great for her. Logan with a running boot to Charlotte’s ribs. Morgan with a gutbuster. Ruby with a jumping round kick. We go to commercial.

– We are back with a look back at what just happened.

Backstage:

Daniel Bryan is asked about what just happened in the Women’s Title Match. Daniel has no comment. Kevin and Sami show up and they know that they are going to get ripped limb from limb because of their jealousy over their success. Sami says if you fire them after the match, it will be the biggest mistake they ever make. Daniel wishes them luck and walks away.

Handicap Lumberjack Match: The New Day vs. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens

Back to the ring for tonight’s main event. Out comes Shinsuke Nakamura, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, Bobby Roode, The Ascension, Tye Dillinger, Rusev, Aiden English, The Colons, Chad Gable, Shelton Benjamin, Sin Cara, Mike Kanellis, Breezango and WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin. They all surround the ring as Lumberjacks. The New Day is out first. We go to commercial.

Owens and Big E start and Owens with a waist lock but Big E with a hip lock take down. Big E gyrates for Kevin and Sami. Owens with a kick and forearm to the back. Owens with a side head lock. Owens with a shoudler tackle and side head lock. Big E gets a near fall. Kofi tags in and hits a knee off the turnbuckles. Kofi is sent to the floor and nobody lays a hand on Kofi. Sami tags in and Kofi with a waist lock. Sami with a side head lock. Sami with a shoulder tackle and Kofi hits a jumping back elbow for a near fall. Sami kicks Kofi and punches him.

Sami sends Kofi to the floor and no one touches Kofi. Sami goes to the floor and everyone attacks Sami. Sami rolls to the floor and tries to go up the ramp but they all grab Sami and carry him back into the ring as we go to commercial.

We are back and Kofi kicks Owens in the corner. Big E tags in and kicks Owens. Kofi comes back in and kicks Kevin. Big E with more kicks. Big E Irish whips Kofi into Owens for a drop kick and he gets a near fall. Owens backs Kofi into the corner and Kofi kicks Owens. Kofi punches Sami on the apron but Owens with a super kick and he kicks Kofi. Sami tags in and he punches Kofi in the ribs. Sami with more punches to Kofi. Sami with a short arm clothesline. Sami with an arm bar and Owens tags in. Owens with a head butt and he stands on Kofi’s hand.

Owens with a slam and he gets a near fall. Owens mocks Big E’s clap and then he goes for a back senton but Kofi gets his knees up. Big E and Zayn tag in and Big E with two overhead belly-to-belly suplexes followed by a belly-to-belly suplex. Big E with the Warrior Splash. Big E tries to back Zayn into the turnbuckle but Zayn moves. Kofi makes the tag and he goes up top for a cross body and he gets a near fall. Owens and Big E with clotheslines and both go down. Zayn is back dropped to the floor. Corbin with a forearm to Roode when Zayn moves and the lumberjacks battle into amd through the ring.

Kofi with a running forearm to Owens but Zayn with a rollup for the three count.

Winners: Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens

After the match, Big E and Owens face off at ringside. Rusev nails Big E from the side and lays him out. English joins him. Owens runs away through the crowd. Kofi leaps from the top and takes down Rusev and English. Sami tries to run away through the crowd too but Woods stops him. Woods rolls Sami back into the ring and The New Day surrounds him. Sami pleads with them but they triple team him. Kofi hits Trouble in Paradise on Sami. Big E scoops Sami while Woods goes to the top for Midnight Hour. The New Day stands tall and talks trash to Sami as their music hits.

Backstage:

We see Owens approaching Bryan backstage. Bryan asks if Owens is at all concerned about what happened to his partner. Owens is concerned but he and Sami want to know about their jobs. Owens begs Bryan not to fire them. Bryan says Owens doesn’t have to beg, he was never going to fire them. Bryan says he does recognize their talents, which is why he wants him here next week for a one-on-one match with Randy Orton. Owens changes his mind and thanks Bryan, then walks off.

We go to credits.
