Reason Impact Is No Longer Pursing Ownership of The “BROKEN” Gimmick

We noted earlier today that Impact Wrestling will not be pursuing ownership of the “BROKEN” gimmick and Matt Hardy will be able to obtain the trademark and use it wherever he wants.

According to Nick Hausman of Eric Bischoff’s podcast, Impat made the decision to break off the pursuit of the gimmick because they left it was a “negative financial and contractual issues” that Anthem Media was at fault for.

Hardy claimed that when Impact sought to gain control of the gimmick that he was legally free to use it due to the contracts not correctly stipulating Impact’s ownership. Anthem & Hardy publicly battled out the dispute on Twitter for several months and it appears that Impact is finally putting the issue behind them.
