This week’s WWE SmackDown, featuring Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event, drew 2.119 million viewers. This is down 21.5% from last week’s 2.699 million viewers and the lowest number since mid-June.
SmackDown also featured more build for the Survivor Series, AJ Styles vs. Samir Singh, Sin Cara vs. WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin and a 2 of 3 Falls Match between Bobby Roode & Dolph Ziggler advertised ahead of time.
SmackDown aired on Halloween. The last time SmackDown aired on Halloween in 2014, when it was a taped show without its own roster on Thursday nights, it dropped only 2.9% from the previous week and averaged 2.213 million viewers.
SmackDown was #9 in viewership for this week on cable, behind Rachel Maddow, The Story, Shephard Smith Reporting, Special Report with Bret Baier, Hannity, Tucker Carlson, The Ingraham Angle and Your World with Neil Cavuto. Coverage of the terror attack in New York City dominated the cable viewership chart for the night. SmackDown was #2 in the 18-49 demographic on cable for the night, behind American Horror Story. Game 6 of the MLB World Series drew 22.6 million viewers for FOX on network TV last night.
In comparison, Monday’s RAW drew 2.854 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.953 million viewers.
