Roman Reigns may not return to WWE in time for next month’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that while Reigns’ viral illness isn’t expected to keep him out of action very long, it’s still very possible that the company keeps him off WWE programming until after the upcoming Survivor Series event for storyline purposes. Reigns’ is slated to be cleared right before the event, but it doesn’t seem likely that they will just toss him into a match at last minute.
As of this writing, it’s unclear if the company is planning to continue with The Shield reunion once he’s back. We should have a better understanding in the weeks to come regarding the direction the company is taking.
Speaking of Survivor Series, the following matches are expected to take place at next month’s PPV event:
* WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Champion Jinder Mahal
* WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin
* WWE RAW Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs. WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos
* Traditional Survivor Series match: RAW Team vs. SmackDown Team
* Traditional Survivor Series Women’s match: RAW Team vs. SmackDown Team
* Enzo Amore, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari vs. Kalisto, Sin Cara, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali.
