Update on Big Cass After Last Night’s Injury, WWE RAW Viewership

– Monday’s WWE RAW, featuring the fallout from Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, drew 3.404 million viewers. This is up from last week’s 3.233 million viewers. This week’s show featured free agent John Cena returning to the red brand to team with Roman Reigns for a win over Samoa Joe and WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz in the main event.

For this week’s show, the first hour drew 3.416 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.581 million viewers and the final hour drew 3.216 million viewers.

– As seen on Monday’s episode of RAW, Big Cass got injured in his match against Enzo Amore and the bout ended up being cut short.

Dave Meltzer discussed the incident on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and pointed out that Cass went up for the Empire Elbow after he suffered the injury but was unable to execute the maneuver. Cass was original scheduled to win the Street Fight against Amore, however the referee had no choice but to stop the match with Enzo getting the win after Cass was unable to physically continue.

While the results of his MRI are not out yet, Meltzer speculated that the injury is likely serious and Cass will be sidelined for a significant amount of time. The timing of the injury couldn’t have come at a worse time for Cass, as he was slated to receive a top midcard level push coming out of his feud with Amore.
