As noted, Ric Flair, 68, was hospitalized earlier this month with extreme pain due to an obstruction in his bowels that was complicated by other health issues that Flair had been dealing with, including heart issues that he was already aware of. Flair underwent surgery on his bowels but the situation turned dire when Flair’s kidneys shut down due to the obstruction. Flair was in a medically induced coma for several days before and after surgery and underwent dialysis to get his kidneys back up and running. As we’ve noted before, it will be some time before Flair is 100% but Flair has been ambulatory and is walking, with assistance.
Ric Flair’s longtime girlfriend Wendy Barstow updated fans on the WWE Hall of Famer’s health on her Facebook page, writing:
“I wanted to update everyone on Ric’s progress as So many people have been reaching out and offering their Prayers and Support. He is doing very well for a Man who has been through so much! He will begin Physical Therapy shortly and will be stronger than ever and back out enjoying all the fans sooner than you would think. I can Honestly say I have witnessed a Miracle.”
