WWE Smackdown Results – Jun 6, 2017

– We start off with a look back at what was supposed to be the number one contender match for the Women’s Title, but it would not happen and we got the announcement of the first Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

– Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring as only Shane McMahon can. As he makes his way to the ring, we see the five women who will be in the Money in the Bank match and James Ellsworth.

There is a table that is waiting for something special to be added.

Shane introduces the Superstars in the ring – Tamina Snuka, Natalya, Carmella, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. James Ellsworth is also there. Shane calls for a drum roll and unveils the white Money In the Bank briefcase that these Superstars will be competing for in the first-ever women’s MITB Ladder Match. Shane talks about the match but Ellsworth interrupts him. Ellsworth runs him down and says we already know what will happen at MITB. He hands the mic to Carmella and she talks about how she’s going to win but Charlotte shuts her up. Charlotte goes on but Natalya cuts her off. Becky knocks Natalya and accuses her of ripping Bret Hart off. Becky says she will go on to be the first Ms. Money In the Bank. Tamina interrupts and says all they do is talk but she’s going to shut them all up in St. Louis. The music interrupts and out comes SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi.

Naomi takes the mic but the music interrupts and out comes Lana for her debut. Shane says this isn’t working for him right now. Lana says Naomi can’t compete in this match but she can. Natalya laughs but a “yes!” chant breaks out. Naomi is also cracking up at the idea of Lana wrestling. Naomi wants to know who Lana has ever defeated. Lana says she can beat Naomi. They start arguing. Shane says with all due respect, a title match is something she needs to earn. Lana pitches a quick fit and leaves the ring. Some fans boo the decision. Lana storms to the back as a “we want Lana” chant starts. Shane calls for a referee as it’s time for a six-woman match. We go to commercial.

Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Naomi vs. Natalya, Carmella and Tamina Snuka

Back from the break and Charlotte starts the match with Natalya. Back and forth between the two. Charlotte has words with Carmella. Becky tags in for a bit of double teaming. Becky with a takedown as Natalya tags in Carmella. Fans chant for Becky as they go at it. Becky with several pin attempts in a row. Becky rolls Carmella around the ring several times now. Becky drops Carmella again for a 2 count.

Carmella ends up sending Becky to the floor with a kick. Natalya clotheslines Becky on the floor with a cheap shot. Back to commercial.

More back and forth after the break. Carmella knocks Charlotte off the apron but Becky rolls her up for 2. Naomi finally tags in and unloads on Carmella now. Naomi with the series of kicks and a jawbreaker. Tamina tags in but Naomi rocks her. Naomi with kicks to Tamina now. Tamina lifts Naomi and rams her back into the corner.

Naomi drops Tamina with a kick and springboards in from the apron, hitting a crossbody. Carmella breaks the pin. Flair boots Carmella out of the ring. Tamina holds Flair while Natalya chops her. They double team Charlotte and send her out of the ring. Lana comes walking out now. Naomi fights off Natalya and Tamina. She turns her attention to Lana. Naomi turns back around and kicks Tamina from the apron. Lana takes Naomi’s legs out and she goes down on the apron. The distraction leads to Tamina hitting a superkick on Naomi for the win.

Winners: Tamina, Carmella and Natalya

After the match, Lana looks on as we go to replays. Lana stands behind the winners on the ramp as the two teams face off.

Backstage:

We see Shane backstage on the phone. He walks into a room and sees the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy. Mojo Rawley walks in. He talks about what the win meant to him and says he thought it would open doors for him but that’s not happening. Mojo mentions not being in the Money In the Bank Ladder Match. Mojo says there’s one person on this roster that has beaten WWE Champion Jinder Mahal – Mojo. Shane says if Mojo wants in the MITB match, he must defeat his opponent tonight – Jinder. Mojo gets hyped up and says he’s ready. He walks off.

– Still to come, Owens vs. Nakamura. Also, Styles vs. Ziggler in a rematch from last week. Back to commercial.

AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler

Back from the break and out first comes AJ Styles to a pop. Dolph Ziggler is out next for a rematch from last week.

Ziggler goes for the leg and AJ stays on his feet. Ziggler with a rollup for a near fall. Styles with a waist lock take down. Ziggler gets another near fall. Ziggler with a front face lock and Styles with a side head lock. Ziggler with a top wrist lock and head butt. Styles with strikes to Ziggler but Ziggler with a drop kick and he gets a near fall.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Ziggler with a head lock but Styles with a jaw breaker. Styles and Ziggler exchange punches. Styles with a chop and punches. Ziggler with a knee to the midsection but he misses a Fameasser. Styles with a clothesline. Ziggler with a double leg take down and he uses the ropes for the cover but the referee does not make the count when he sees Ziggler’s feet on the ropes. Ziggler with a Fameasser for a near fall.

Ziggler puts Styles on the turnbuckles and he sets for a superplex but Styles blocks it. Styles slides under but Ziggler with a kick to Styles. Styles sends Ziggler away when he goes for the tornado DDT. Styles with a forearm and then he avoids Ziggler trying to stop a springboard move. Ziggler blocks a sunset flip attempt and drops down for a near fall. Styles with a Styles Clash for the three count.

Winner: AJ Styles

The Fashion Files

It is time for the latest from the Fashion Files… Noir Style. Tyler says you are asked to turn left on the runway and when you are getting your mug shot taken. Tyler says it was a slow night in Rochester. Fandango says he took the bottle to the boys in the lab but there were no boys or lab. He tried the cologne and he does not think it is the Colon’s Cologne. Tyler and Fandango get cologne and colon mixed up.

Tyler says he gets it, but he does not really get it. Fandango does not get it either.

We see the New Day in the back but the New Day Pops cart tilts to the right.

They enter the room and are in black and white.

Xavier asks for help from Fandango and Tyler. They agree to take the case but they say it internally.

The New Day are waiting for a response. They say there is something in it for them. They give Fandango and Tyler some clothing but they throw it down. Fandango says he may like dancing and he may like dirty dancing, but he is not a dirty dancer. He will not take bribes and they will not sell out.

Tyler puts on the gear and he likes it.

The New Day want some information about the Usos.

Tyler and Fandango give them their files and Fandango pulls out the Day Is H shirt.

Fandango and Breeze says they are on the case, but they say it internally so New Day does not hear it and they back out carefully.

Tyler and Fandango think ‘New Case Rocks’.

Mojo Rawley vs. Jinder Mahal

We go to the ring and out comes Mojo Rawley as he tries to earn a spot in MITB. Back to commercial.

They lock up and Mahal misses a punch on the break and Mojo with punches and he sends Mahal into the turnbuckles. Mojo with a hip toss and Mahal rolls to the apron. Mahal returns to the ring and he kicks and punches Mojo. Mahal with more punches. Mojo with a flying shoulder tackle and Mojo rolls to the floor again. The Singhs talk to Mahal and Mahal yells at them. Mojo with a pounce but the Singhs distract Mojo and Mahal with a boot to stop him. Mahal with kicks to Mojo.

Mahal with a short arm clothesline. Mahal with a reverse chin lock. Mojo with a belly-to-back suplex. Mahal misses a splash and Mojo with running shoulder tackles and a clothesline. Mojo with a Stinger Splash and he gets Mahal on his shoulders but Mahal with a rake of the eyes and he sends Mojo shoulder first into the ring post followed by a Cobra Clutch Slam for the three count.

Winner: Jinder Mahal

After the match, Jinder takes the mic and he demands silence when he speaks. He reminds everyone that he is the WWE Champion. Mahal says he just broke the dream of Mojo Rawley just like he will dismantle the dreams of Randy Orton thinking he can win the WWE Title in his home town. Mahal says Randy Orton is sick and anyone who supports him is sick. Mahal says he is your antidote. He is your medicine. Once he cures the WWE Universe of Randy Orton, you will have no choice but to accept him as your Modern Day Maharaja.

Jinder address people in Punjabi.

– The announcers lead us to a video package on Shinsuke Nakamura.

– We see The New Day walking backstage. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Randy Orton is asked about Jinder Mahal’s comments.

Randy says after Smackdown, he had the honor of getting a few calls from legends like his father, Ric Flair, and Harley Race. They said let Jinder run his mouth all he wants because actions speak louder than words. In his home town, he will not have to say one word and Jinder Mahal will hear him just fine.

The COlons vs. Big E and Xavier Woods (with Kofi Kingston)

Primo and Woods start things off and Primo with a chop. Woods floats over and he hits a head scissors take down. Woods sends Primo into the ropes and Woods with a hesitation drop kick to the back for a near fall. Primo with a knee and Epico tags in and he punches Woods and connects with an elbow to the back of the neck. Woods with a forearm and he tags in Big E. Big E with a shoulder into the corner followed by a clothesline for a near fall.

Big E with a forearm to Epico’s back while Woods takes care of Primo. Big E runs Epico into the ringside barrier. Woods tags in and Big E drops him onto Epico for a near fall. Woods with a punch and chops. Woods is sent into the ropes and Primo kicks him on the floor. Primo tags in and he rakes the eyes with his boot. Primo chops Woods and sends him back into the ring. Primo punches Woods and we go back to full screen.

Woods sends Primo into the turnbuckles but Primo with an Irish whip and clothesline in the corner. Primo puts Woods on the turnbuckles and punches him. Woods punches Primo and knocks him off the turnbuckles with a head butt. Woods with a missile drop kick and both men are down. Big E tags in and hits two overhead belly-to-belly suplexes to Epico and follows with a belly-to-belly suplex. Big E with a Sexy Party and then he hits a Warrior Splash. Big E sends Primo over the top rope to the floor and Woods with a plancha. Epico with a rolup for a near fall. Epico with a jaw breaker but Woods tags in and Woods with an enzuigiri and then Woods and Big E hit Midnight Hour for the three count.

Winners: Big E and Xavier Woods

After the match, The Usos come out and Jimmy says they were impressed. Jimmy and Jey tell them to keep doing what they are doing because they have the tag team division on lock down. Jimmy says they are not always serious. Jimmy comments on Kofi’s outfit. Jimmy asks if Big E is his bra size. They say at Money in the Bank there won’t be any more laughter.

Kevin Owens is getting ready for his match against Shinsuke Nakamura. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

Back from the break and Sami Zayn is backstage with Dasha Fuentes. He is asked about his preparation for the Money in the Bank match. Sami says he has been watching a lot of matches involving his opponents to find out their weaknesses. He has not been able to figure out Shinsuke Nakamura so he will be on commentary for this match. He says Shinsuke’s charsima is what makes it hard to forget how hard his strikes are. This oppotunity is too big and too important.

Baron Corbin stops by and he takes the mic and he has a question for Sami. Corbin punches Sami instead and then he hits Sami with a small ladder. Corbin picks up Sami and he tells Sami that Nakamura isn’t who Sami should be worrying about. Corbin sends Sami into more ladders that are very convenient. Corbin says a spot just opened up on commentary.

Backstage:

We go to Shane in his office. He’s on the phone with someone talking about what Corbin just did. Naomi walks in and says she wants Lana at Money In the Bank. Shane says he’s dealing with the issues right now and Naomi has no obligation to fight Lana. Naomi says she wants to fight Lana and will even put her title on the line. Shane makes the title match for MITB. Naomi is happy and says Lana better invest in one of those Russian hats because she plans on snatching her bald.

– Back from the break and TJ Perkins is backstage with a promo to hype tonight’s WWE 205 Live. Back to the ring and Baron Corbin has joined the announcers for commentary. Shinsuke Nakamura is out next to a big pop.

Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

We go to the ring and out comes WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens for this non-title main event.

Nakamura goes for a kick but Owens avoids it. Nakamura with a kick to the leg. Owens with a wrist lock and take down. Nakamura with a reversal but Owens gets away. Nakamura tells Owens to bring it and Nakamura with a kick and forearm. Owens goes to the floor and we go to commercial.

We are back and Owens with a kick to Nakamura’s back. Owens with a boot to the head. Owens punches Nakamura and kicks him in the chest. Owens gets a near fall. Owens with a reverse chin lock. We see footage from the commercial break when Owens dropped Nakamura onto the apron and then giving Nakamura a fallaway slam into the ringside barrier. Nakamura with elbows but Owens with a DDT and he gets a near fall. Owens with a reverse chin lock. Nakamura with an elbow and forearm. Owens with a forearm. They go back and forth but Owens gets Nakamura on his shoulders but Nakamura gets to his feet. Nakamura with a flying boot and then he connects with a series of boots and a kick to the chest.

Nakamura with an Irish whip and knee into the corner. Nakamura puts Owens on the turnbuckles and hits a running knee for a near fall. Owens with elbows to block the reverse exploder. Owens with a head butt and clothesline into the corner. Owens puts Nakamura on the turnbuckles and then he sets for a superplex. Nakamura with punches and a double sledge to knock Owens to the mat. Owens pulls Nakamura off the turnbuckles and Owens follows with a cannonball for a near fall. Owens sets for the pop up power bomb but Nakamura holds on to the ropes. Nakamura with a round kick and a reverse exploder. Nakamura with Kinshasa for the three count.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

After the match, Nakamura stands tall as we go to replays. We come back to Nakamura celebrating until Corbin hits the ring and attacks him from behind. Corbin drops Nakamura with End of Days. We get another replay as Corbin heads to the ramp and Nakamura recovers. Corbin’s music hits as the announcers hype Money In the Bank. We get another replay of the End of Days to Nakamura. SmackDown goes off the air with Corbin looking on from the stage as Nakamura is still down in the ring.
