As previously noted, WWE has plans to eventually bring in the “BROKEN” gimmick for Matt and Jeff Hardy to use on WWE programming.
Negotiations are currently on-going between Anthem & WWE and either one of two things happen. WWE will either pay them royalties as long as they use the gimmick or a one-time payment.
The belief is WWE does not want to to give Anthem any royalties on a long-term merchandise deal for the “BROKEN” gimmick. WWE is hopefully they can just pay them off in one lump sum and take full control of the gimmick moving forward with no strings attached.
The plan is that once The Hardy’s drop the RAW Tag-Team Championships titles that they can move into the “BROKEN” gimmick, however those plans will not go into effect unless WWE and Anthem have a finalized deal for the gimmick.
