– As seen on Sunday’s Royal Rumble, John Cena defeated AJ Styles to capture the WWE World Title for a sixteenth time.
At one point the company had plans to have Ric Flair come out to the ring to congratulate Cena for tying his record after the match, but that obviously never happened.
It’s being said that those plans were changed last minute for unknown reason. The company did however film Flair talking about the win without Cena for online distribution.
– Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were not originally in the Royal Rumble plans to leave the show as the new RAW tag-team champions.
It’s being said that earlier plans this week had called for Sheamus and Cesaro to retain their championship titles against Anderson & Gallows at Sunday’s event. The company made a last minute decision before the show started and had Cesaro and Sheamus drop the titles.
WWE is notorious for changing their plans on the fly.
