WWE RAW Results – Dec. 26, 2016

– Last week on Raw, Braun Strowman took matters into his own hands after losing to Sami Zayn at Roadblock.

– We are in Chicago, Illinois and your announcers are Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and Corey Graves.

WWE RAW Opener:

– We go right to the ring and out comes Stephanie McMahon.

Stephanie welcomes us. Fans chant for CM Punk. Stephanie says if they can keep that up for 2 minutes and 15 seconds longer, they’ll last 1 second longer than Punk. Stephanie goes on but the music interrupts and out comes Seth Rollins.

He wishes Chicago and Stephanie a Merry Christmas. He says he wanted to come out and he wanted to know how things were for Stephanie and HHH. Seth asks if HHH got a new leather jacket or NXT Jammies. Did she give him his manhood back. Seth says he does not know if she has his snow balls or his whole yule log in her purse.

Stephanie says that when Seth goes low, she goes high. She reminds Seth that HHH is an executive. Seth reminds Stephanie that last year HHH was primed for a return to the Royal Rumble. Now he is calling HHH out and begging him to come out. Seth says that HHH will be remembered as the biggest coward.

Stephanie says she is not her husband’s keeper and she tells Seth that her husband will be more of a champion than Seth will ever be. Seth says he came to Chicago for a fight. Last week, Braun Strowman stuck his nose in Seth’s business and he wants Braun Strowman.

Roman Reigns’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Stephanie guesses that Roman wants to face Strowman tonight. Roman says that Strowman made a big mistake last week and he deserves a big fight. He is here to fight. Seth says if Roman wants Stromwan, he tells Roman to get to the back of the line. seth says he is not stepping aside. Roman says he will jump the line and teach Strowman a lesson in the back. Seth says that maybe they will go to the back together and teach him a lesson the way they did it in the past. Roman says they should beat him up in the back and then bring him back out and power bomb him through a table.

Stephanie likes the idea of that and she throws out her fist like she is in The Shield. She says that Smackdown is in Chicago tomorrow and there is a certain Lunatic Fringe who will be there. Should they reunite the band for one night only? Stephanie says that is too bad because that ain’t gonna to happen. She tells Seth that he can face Braun Strowman. Stephanie then tells Roman he will defend the United States Title tonight against an opponent of her choice.

Stephanie mentions there is a tag title match coming up next as The New Day make their way to the ring and they pour Booty-O’s onto people on the aisle. We go to commercial.

RAW Tag Team Title Match: The New Day vs. Cesaro and Sheamus

Woods with a drop kick to Sheamus as the bell rings and he gets a near fall. Kofi tags in and hits a clothesline followed by an elbow from Woods and a splash from Kofi for a near fall. Sheamus punches Kofi and Cesaro tags in. Kofi with a rana and a drop kick. Kofi kicks Cesaro in the corner and then Woods tags in and kicks Cesaro. Kofi with more kicks and then Woods adds more kicks. Kofi with more kicks and then Woods tags in a for an Irish whip and a series of drop kicks to Cesaro. Woods with a leaping leg drop for a near fall. Woods with a chop.

Cesaro with a European uppercut and Woods is down. Woods wtih an elbow but Sheamus pulls Woods over the top rope to the floor when Cesaro was dealing with the referee. We go to commercial.

We are back and Sheamus punches Woods and then he knocks Kofi off the apron. Cesaro tags in and Sheamus with a uranage back breaker followed by a knee from the top by Cesaro. Cesaro goes for the giant swing but Woods escapes. Woods sends Cesaro to the floor and then he hits a springboard tornado DDT to the floor. Sheamus tags in and he goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Woods lands on his feet and he tags in Kofi. Kofi with a chop and drop kicks to Sheamus followed by a plancha onto Cesaro. Kofi blocks a uranage back breaker and hits SOS for a near fall.

Kofi with a pendulum kick in the corner and Woods tags in. Xavier with an enzuigiri and Woods goes up top for a springboard elbow drop and Cesaro breaks up the cover. Sheamus with a knee and Cesaro tags in and goes for a sunset flip but he turns it into a Giant Swing. Big E gets on the apron and distracts the referee. Kofi goes for Trouble in Paradise but Ceasro blocks it and he catapults Kofi to the ropes and then Cesaro press slams Kofi onto Big E.

Woods goes for the Honor Roll on Cesaro but Sheamus makes the blind tag and he hits the Brogue Kick for the three count.

Winners: Sheamus and Cesaro

– Still to come, Rollins vs. Strowman plus a look at Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg in the Royal Rumble. We go to commercial.

– We are back and it is time to talk about the Royal Rumble, which is in less than five weeks. Michael Cole mentions that the two men announced so far are Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. We have a video package where Paul Heyman says it scares him that Goldberg and Lesnar are in the Royal Rumble match because it means that Brock is motivated.

Backstage:

Braun Strowman walks into the arena and people run away.

We see Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho standing there. Kevin says Braun is the man they were looking for. Kevin says he decked the halls… or he decked people in the hall. Chris says he would not want to be on the List of Strowman.

Strowman wants to know what Kevin and Chris want from him.

Kevin says he wants to talk to Strowman Man to Bigger Man. He says that after he is done with Roman, maybe Strowman is his next opponent. Kevin says that Seth and Roman are calling him out. Chris says that Seth and Roman said that they did not think that Strowman is very big. Kevin says that Seth said that Strowman should take up Crossfit. Chris reminds Strowman about the match tonight. Chris says that Seth said that Strowman is a one hit wonder. Chris says that Seth said that Strowman didn’t beat Zayn because he was a stupid idiot.

All three men talk about how bad rumors are. Strowman walks away.

Backstage:

We see Goldust and R Truth. Goldust says that Bill Murray is the best Scrooge. Truth says it was Mr. Magoo. Bayley shows up and says she has a gift for Goldust. Truth wants in on the gift but he asks for a hug. Bayley gives Goldust a bear in polka dots. She says she would not be the number one contender if it wasn’t for the influence of Dusty Rhodes. Goldust appreciates the gift and he thanks her for it.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows stop by and Luke calls them nerds. Karl talks about how Goldust is playing with Christmas toys. Karl takes the bear and he rips the head off. We go to commercial.

– We are back and it is time to talk about the Iron Man Match from Roadblock.

– We take a look back at what Nia Jax did to Sasha Banks last week on Raw.

Nia Jax vs. Scarlett

Nia’s opponent is interviewed at ringside. Scarlett says it does not matter if it is Nia Jax or not. She is happy to be in her home town of Chicago. She says she wishes her inspiration Sasha Banks was here.

Nia kicks Scarlett into the corner and biels her across the ring. Nia with a few splashes into the corner. Nia with a Samoan drop and Nia gets the three count.

Winner: Nia Jax

After the match, Nia tells Scarlett to get a better role model and then she hits a leg drop.

– Bayley walks in the back as we go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Stephanie and Charlotte shake hands.

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho enter and Kevin says they are here to make a protest against Mick Foley. Kevin reminds Stephanie he won at Roadblock but Roman is getting a rematch and Chris has to hang above the ring like a sexy pinata hundreds of feet above the ring. Chris says he will break out if Mick puts spiders in the cage. He will have acneacraarachophobia.

Chris says that Stephanie said that Roman was going to get a United States Title Match so why not give him a chance since he does not have a match. Stephanie says that she hates officials who take advantage of their positions. She says Roman will face the man who beat him at Roadblock… Kevin Owens. Kevin says they will make history tonight as the Universal and United States Champions.

In the Arena:

Bayley makes her way to the ring.

Bayley says she loves Chicago and she says that she hopes Santa gave them everything they asked for. Bayley says Christmas came early for her because she pinned Charlotte for the third time and she is pretty sure that makes her the new number one contender. All Bayley has dreamt about is holding the Women’s Title.

Charlotte Flair interrupts and says she knows that Bayley enjoys playing wrestler. Charlotte tells Bayley that she did not beat her. Bayley says that when the referee raises your hand after the three count, you won the match.

We take a look at last week when Charlotte may have kicked out of the back slide before the three count.

Charlotte says she kicked out. If it was someone like you, you would have to deal with the loss. Charlotte says that since she was raised in the industry, she was taught to have a good lawyer with her. She says they came to a settlement, your victory has been expunged from the records so it never happened. Charlotte wonders if she cannot relate to someone so average. Charlotte says she was born with a silver spoon. She did not wait in line and she did not cut coupons.

Charlotte says she remembers how Bayley reacted when she won the NXT Championship. Charlotte says she was secretly laughing at Bayley the entire time. Charlotte says she is not unreasonable and because this is the holiday season, she will give Charlotte another shot at her childhood dreams, a match right now.

Bayley agrees to the match. Charlotte tells Bayley that in the settlement she was guaranteed a referee who would call it down the line. That referee will be Dana Brooke. Back to commercial.

Bayley vs. Charlotte

They lock up and Dana keeps Bayley out of the corner and Charlotte with a shoulder and chops. Bayley kicks Charlotte in the corner and the referee pulls Bayley out of the corner. Bayley with a belly-to-belly suplex to Dana. Charlotte with a forearm to Bayley and Charlotte with more forearms. Charlotte floats over and Bayley with a hip toss and sliding clothesline for a near fall as a new referee comes to the ring.

Charlotte with a knee and she sends Bayley into the turnbuckles. Bayley returns the favor. Bayley Bayleys up and sends Charlotte into the turnbuckles. Bayley goes up top and hits a cross body for a near fall. Bayley with a shoulder into the corner and then he hits an elbow and then goes for a suplex but Charlotte holds on to the ropes. Charlotte with a back breaker and then she sends Bayley into the turnbuckles for a near fall.

Bayley kicks Charlotte away on a figure four set up and Bayley hits the belly-to-belly suplex and Dana pulls the referee out of the ring. Bayley chases Dana around the ring and Charlotte wtih a rollup and her feet on the ropes for the three count.

Winner: Charlotte

Backstage:

Stephanie McMahon is in the back and she tells Braun Strowman to stop what he is doing. Braun says he is looking for Sami Zayn. Stephanie says that he needs to focus on his match. Braun says he wants both men because he is multitasking. She gives Braun a match against Sami Zayn next week. Braun says he wants to face Sami in a Last Man Standing Match. Stephanie says that Braun is a destructive force and he wants Braun to see Sami in Seth. He wants Braun to do to Seth what he will do next week against Sami Zayn.

– We take a look back at Neville from last week’s Raw. Back to commercial.

Neville vs. TJ Perkins

Neville refuses the hand shake before the match starts. They lock up and Neville with a wrist lock. Perkins with a drop kick and European uppercut. Perkins with kicks and a running knee to the head for a near fall. Perkins with a side head lock and Perkins with a head scissors and a jumping side kick that sends Neville to the floor. Perkins with a corkscrew pescado onto Neville.

Neville is rolled back into the ring and Perkins goes up top. Perkins with a cross body for a near fall. Perkins with a kick to the chest. Perkins puts Neville in the tree of woe but Perkins misses a baseball slide when Neville pulls himself up. Neville with an enzuigiri that sends Perkins to the floor. Neville runs Perkins into the ringside barrier. Neville rolls Perkins back in and Neville with elbows to the head. Neville with a reverse chin lock into a rear chin lock. Perkins lands on his feet but Neville with elbows. Perkins goes to the apron and he slides back in. Perkins with a drop kick and then a slingshot drop kick.

Perkins with a double underhook face buster for a near fall. Perkins and Neville with punches. Neville with a series of kicks. Neville floats over and then he is sent to the apron. Perkins catches Neville and sets for the Detonation Kick and connects. Perkins goes for the knee bar but Neville drops down and gets the three count.

Winner: Neville

After the match, Neville is asked what is next for him.

Neville says when you leave a line of bodies in your wake, suddenly everyone wants to talk to you. You Americans only talk about him when you insult his accent or think his accent is too bland for television. Maybe you don’t think this face is appropriate for Raw. It is your ignorance and your arrogance that has prevented you from appreciating him. Neville says you will see him beat the Cruiserweight Champion tomorrow night because he is the King of the Cruiserweights.

– Michael Cole mentions Sensitivity Training and we see what happened last week.

– We see Big Cass pushing Enzo in a wheelchair as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

Back from the break and out comes Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Enzo, speaking from a wheelchair, cuts a promo on Jinder Mahal and Rusev. Enzo tells Cass he’s batting clean-up because of the injury. Cass hits the ring and challenges Rusev to come out and try to do what he did to Enzo to Cass. Rusev comes out with Lana but Jinder Mahal joins them. Cass waits in the ring and Enzo looks on from ringside in his wheelchair. Jinder goes over and slaps Enzo before entering the ring. Rusev and Jinder look to double team Cass.

Enzo gets up from the chair and pulls Jinder off the apron. Cass takes advantage and unloads on Rusev, sending him back to the floor. Jinder ends up in Enzo’s wheelchair. Enzo limps to the steel steps and Cass launches him onto Jinder in the chair. Rusev tries to come back into the ring but Cass stops him with a big boot. Rusev retreats with Lana as Enzo and Cass celebrate in the ring.

– Still to come, Braun vs. Rollins. Back to commercial.

Darren Young and Bo Dallas (with Bob Backlund) vs. Epico and Primo

Primo and Young start things off and Young with a waist lock take down. Primo with a punch and jab. Young with a rolliing elbow but Primo drop kicks Young into the ropes.

Braun Strowman makes his way to the ring and he has a Christmas Tree with him. Strowman hits Dallas with the tree and then he connects with a forearm to Primo.

No Contest

Strowman sends Young to the floor and then Epico hits Strowman with a chair and it has no impact. Strowman destroys Epico with a clothesline. Strowman sends Young into Backlund and then he picks up the steps and throws them at Epico, Primo, and Dallas. Fans chant “thank you Strowman” as he stands tall and we get replays. The chants for Braun continue as we go to commercial.

Seth Rollins vs. Braun Strowman

Back from the break and Strowman is still in the ring. Seth Rollins is out next.

Strowman biels Rollins across the ring. Rollins with a kick and punches and then Rollins drops down and Strowman goes to the floor. Rollins with a suicide dive and Strowman stays on his feet. Rollins runs into a shoulder tackle. Strowman with a forearm across the chest. Strowman with a kick to the chest. Strowman with a forearm to the back and he chokes Rolilns in the ropes. Rollins lands on his feet when Strowman takes him off the ropes. Rollins with an enzuigiri and then Strowman hits the ring post shoulder first. Rollins with two springboard knees to the temple and Strowman stays on his feet. Rollins goes for a third one but Strowman catches Rollins and runs him into the turnbuckles.

Strowman runs into a boot from Rollins. Rollins with a blockbuster followed by a thrust kick and Rollins goes for the Pedigree but Strowman with a back body drop that sends Rollins over the top rope to the floor. Strowman with a running shoulder tackle on the floor and then he sends Rollins back into the ring.

Sami Zayn’s music plays and Zayn comes off the ring steps with a forearm and then he sends Braun into the ring post a few times.

Winner: Braun Strowman (by disqualification)

Zayn goes into the crowd and Strowman follows after him.

Chris Jericho comes out and he hits a Codebreaker on Rollins. Officials come to the ring to point at Jericho to not do anything. Jericho does not care and he hits another Codebreaker. The referees point with more conviction and add yelling to their directions to Jericho.

Backstage:

Kevin Owens watches what just happened on the monitor and Charlie Caruso asked about his preparation for his match against Roman Reigns.

Kevin says he cannot answer her question because he tuned her out when she started talking. Kevin tells random stranger that Roman’s closest friend got taken out by Chris Jericho. There will be a new United States Champion and his… their names will be Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho.

Chris says that means that Roman is all alone tonight and they will own Roman Reigns and they will own the United States Championship. Kevin says they will be Universal and United States Champion. He tells Chris that she is annoying him. They walk off into commercial.

– We are back and Emma has added audio to her random photos and says that it will be worth the wait.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows vs. R Truth and Goldust

Goldust punche Anderson and then he knocks Gallows off the apron. Anderson is sent into the turnbuckles and Goldust kicks Anderson. Truth tags in and hits a forearm in the corner. Anderson with a knee to the midsection but Truth with a hip toss and leaping leg drop. Gallows tags in and Truth punches Gallows but Anderson sends Truth to Gallows for a kick. Gallows with an elbow and Anderson tags in and applies a reverse chin lock.

Anderson with a flying boot for a near fall. Anderson returns to the reverse chin lock. Gallows tags in and Truth with a drop kick. Goldust and Anderson tag in and Goldust with clotheslines and a drop down uppercut followed by a power slam. Anderson goes to the floor and Goldust sends Anderson into the ringside barrier. Goldust kicks Anderson and he sends Anderson back in and he hits a bulldog. Goldust clotheslines Gallows over the top rope. Anderson with a rollup for the three count.

Winners: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows

– We see Rich Swann walking in the back and he stops to look at Noam Dar hitting on Dana Brooke. We go to commercial.

Rich Swann vs. Ariya Daivari

Daivari with punches and kicks as the bell rings. Swann punches Daivari and Swann with a slingshot arm drag. Daivari with a neck breaker for a near fall. Daivari goes up top and misses a frog splash. Swann with clotheslines and a back heel kick and a double stomp to the back. Swann with a back heel kick to the head for the three count.

Winner: Rich Swann

After the match, Swann is asked about Neville’s challenge from earlier tonight. Swann says Neville claims to be the King of the Cruiserweights but Neville sounds like a Royal Sour Puss. Neville is still one of the best in the WWE and if it is a fight Neville wants, it is a fight that Neville gets. Neville attacks Swann and then he sends Swann into the apron. Neville sends Swann into the ring and he pulls Swann into position for the Red Arrow and he hits it onto Swann’s back. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Daivari is asked about his loss and what led to his defeat. Daivari says the fear of interference from Jack Gallagher cost him the match. Jack Gallagher shows up and he wants to know why he was called a scoundrel. He will allow Daivari to retract his slander. Gallagher says they need to settle this the proper way. He challenges Daivari a duel. Daivari asks if he is Alexander Hamilton. Gallagher says he would be more like Aaron Burr and he slaps Daivari with a glove.

– It is time to take a look at Bill Goldberg and his return to the WWE ring at Survivor Series.

WWE United States Title Match: Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns

We go to the ring and out comes WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and out comes WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns to some boos. We get formal ring introductions from JoJo. The bell rings and here we go.

They lock up and Reigns gives a clean break. Owens with a kick and a side head lock. Owens with a shoulder tackle and kick. Owens with a side head lock. Roman with a shoulder tackle and Owens goes to the floor. Owens wants Reigns to back up as he tries to get back into the ring. Owens decides he is not ready to return to the ring so he stays on the floor. Reigns goes to the floor and he punches Owens and sends him back into the ring.

Out comes Chris Jericho and Owens takes advantage of the distraction and gets a 2 count. Owens drops Reigns again for another 2 count. We go to commercial with Owens in control as Jericho cheers him on from ringside.

We are back and Owens stands over Reigns. Owens with kicks and a punch. Reigns with two clotheslines followed by a leaping clothesline. Reigns with NeverEnding Story in the corner but Owens gets out of the corner and hits a thrust kick. Owens mocks Reigns before hitting the cannonball and he gets a near fall. Owens kicks Reigns in the back and then he applies a reverse chin lock. Reigns gets back to his feet and he punches Owens but Owens with a knee and he sends Reigns to the floor.

Owens goes to the floor and he sends Reigns into the ringside barrier. Owens gets back into the ring and then he goes back to the floor and Reigns with a Drive By and then he sends Owens into the ringside barrier. Reigns is able to do the full NeverEnding Story. Reigns with a boot and Samoan drop for a near fall. Owens goes to the apron and then Owens with a cutter onto the top rope. Owens with a lungblower for a near fall.

Reigns with an elbow but Owens with a forearm. Reigns with a forearm and they continue with the forearms. Reigns blocks a kick and Reigns hits a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Reigns looks around and he sets for the Superman punch but Owens moves and gets a near fall with a rollup. Reigns with a Superman punch for a near fall. Jericho gets on the apron and Owens hits a Codebreaker off the distraction and Owens gets a near fall.

Seth Rollins comes out and he attacks Jericho and hits a thrust kick and Rollins with a Pedigree to Jericho. Owens with a super kick to Rollins on the floor. Reigns with a spear for the three count.

Winner: Roman Reigns

After the match, Reigns and Rollins stand over Owens in the ring. Rollins with a crotch chop and he hits a Pedigree. Reigns hits a spear on Jericho.

We go to credits.
