WWE is now referring to the “WWE World Championship” to the “WWE Championship” on their website.
This is now the third time in recent WWE history that they have changed the name. The title was originally called the “WWE World Championship”, then they changed it to the “WWE World Heavyweight Championship” once they combined the titles. Once the brand split occurred, they decided to go back to calling it the “WWE World Championship” again.
