As noted, last night’s NXT TV tapings at Full Sail University saw a match stopped after the referee called for the bell due to injury after a scary looking spot.
The injury took place when The Authors of Pain powerbombed one of the opponents (Johnny Vandal) onto the other, who was confirmed to be WrestlePro (NJ) talent Anthony Bowens.
Bowens posted the following on his Twitter account, noting his injuries will force him to miss in-ring time:
Not the way I saw my #WWE #NXT debut ending but due to the injuries sustained last night I have to unfortunately pull off all Dec shows.— Anthony Bowens (@Bowens_Official) 1 dicembre 2016
Bowens suffered a concussion due to the spot, and it was clearly evident that there was a head injury upon examination by WWE doctors. Bowens will reportedly remain in Florida for a short time while WWE doctors can monitor his progress.
– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting Ryback had preliminary negotiations this week with Combate Americas to fight.
It had previously been reported that Ryback has had talks with Bellator; this was previously confirmed by Ryback himself as well as Bellator’s Scott Coker.
