– Jerry Lawler is no longer working weekly WWE programming and only has a legends deal with the contract. The report claims that he won’t be an announcer on any pre-shows going forward and will only make special appearances for the company.
The following statement was released by WWE regarding his status:
“Jerry Lawler has a Legends agreement with WWE, however, he will no longer regularly appear on our pre-shows. He will continue to host special events, including WWE’s annual Hall of Fame celebration at WrestleMania.”
– WWE is now airing a “Previously on RAW” segment prior to the show broadcasting live that recaps the events of on-going storylines. They added voice narration to the video packages.
The RAW pre-show has been cut from 30 minutes to only 10 minutes. Instead of being recorded at WWE Headquarters, they now tape it backstage at the event. The show no longer features four hosts on the show either, they are only now using two — Charly Caruso and Booker T.
It’s expected that that SmackDown pre-show also be cut down from 30-minutes to 10-minutes.
