WWE Smackdown Opener:
We begin with a video package showing the history of Smackdown since tonight is the 900th episode.
We are in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and your announcers are Mauro Ranallo, John Layfield, and David Otunga. Your host is Tom Philips.
Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon is out first to kick off the show for a big reaction. Shane has a mic in hand and then motions to the entrance area as Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan make his way out to the entrance area to a big ovation as well. Shane welcomes everyone to the 900th episode of Smackdown. Bryan plugs the return of WWE Hall of Famer Edge to host “The Cutting Edge” tonight. He also promotes the return of The Undertaker. Shane says we will kick off tonight with a championship match.
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. The Miz w/ Maryse
We get introductions for the challenger The Miz and the champion Dolph Ziggler.
Lock up and Miz goes to work on the left arm of Ziggler. Ziggler with a takedown into a pinfall for a one count. Miz avoids a superkick early and Ziggler with a roll up for a two count. Miz responds with a backbreaker, but Miz avoids a dropkick. Ziggler counters an early Skull Crushing Finale attempt and Miz avoids another superkick attempt. Commercial break.
We return live as Ziggler catches Miz with a big dropkick as Miz jumped off the top turnbuckle. During the break, we see Miz launching Ziggler into the ring barricade. Ziggler catches Miz with an elbow in the corner. Miz with a backbreaker and neckbreaker combo. Miz with knees to the left leg of Ziggler to keep him grounded.
Miz misses a shot in the corner. Ziggler with leaping clotheslines on Miz. Ziggler with a splash in the corner. Miz counters with another backbreaker. Ziggler counters Miz, pushes him to the corner and connects with a swinging neckbreaker. Ziggler with a quick jumping elbow for a two count. Ziggler takes the back of Miz and applies a sleeper. Miz gets his boots on the bottom rope to break it up. Ziggler with a roll up on Miz for two. Miz with a big boot on Ziggler. Miz into a cover and uses the ropes for leverage. The referee sees this and stops the count. Miz argues with the referee. Ziggler with a Fameasser on Miz for a close two count. Commercial Break.
Back live, Ziggler has a cover on Miz for another two count. Ziggler with rights. Miz avoids a Zig Zag attempt holding on to the ropes. Miz does Daniel Bryan taunts and starts kicking Ziggler like Bryan. Ziggler avoids the last big kick for a roll up for two. Miz catches Ziggler with a huge running knee! Miz connects with the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz with the cover and Ziggler barely kicks out. Ziggler avoids a Figure Four attempt by Miz, goes for a jumping DDT, Miz counters, kicks out the knee of Ziggler, Ziggler rolls Miz through and connects with a quick Zig Zag on Miz. Miz gets his boot on the bottom rope to break up the pinfall by Ziggler. The Spirit Squad runs down. Ziggler with superkicks on Mikey and Kenny. Miz gets Ziggler down and locks on the Figure Four. Miz is yelling at Ziggler to tap. Ziggler reaches out and pulls himself to the bottom rope to break it up. Miz goes for another Figure Four. Ziggler counters into a small package. Maryse reaches in and pushes Miz over on top of Ziggler without the referee seeing. Miz gets the pinfall.
Winner and new WWE Intercontinental Champion: The Miz
After the match, Mauro Ranallo talks about how The Miz will now defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn at Survivor Series this Sunday. We see a shot of Dolph Ziggler in the corner looking completely shocked.
– Tom mentions what happened at the end of Raw when the two men’s teams had a scuffle to end the show.
– We take a look back at Episode 36 in 2000 when Austin blew up the DX bus. We go to commercial.
– We are back and we see Sami Zayn tweeting about having to face the Miz at Survivor Series.
Backstage:
Alexa Bliss is complaining to Daniel Bryan about her foot being on the rope last week and thinks she deserves to be the rightful champion. Bryan promises she will get her rematch and wants her to focus on beating Team RAW at Survivor Series. Bliss wants to know when she gets her rematch when Natalya walks up blowing a whistle. She talks about being the coach for Team Smackdown Live. Bliss is annoyed by her.
Kalisto vs. Oney Lorcan
Lorcan with a charging uppercut early on Kalisto in the corner! Lorcan with quick stomps and an uppercut to the back of Kalisto’s head. Lorcan with a half-in-half suplex on Kalisto for a two count. Kalisto cuts off Lorcan with kicks. Kalisto slips with a springboard off the ropes. Lorcan with more uppercuts to Kalisto. Kalisto with Salida Del Sol for the win.
Winner: Kalisto
– We see The Undertaker’s hat as his music plays. We see Undertaker reach out and grab his hat.
– A video package runs from the first episode of Smackdown (August 26, 1999) where Shawn Michaels assisted Triple H in defeating The Rock. We go to commercial.
Backstage:
The tag team participants for Smackdown are in the back and the captains show up. Heath says he got everyone a mach tonight. He says he has a motivational speaker to pump them up. Heath brings in King Booker.
Booker says he was summoned at the behest of their captain to talk about the significance of the Survivor Series game.
Tyler Breeze and Fandango enter as the Fashion Police and he has citations for everyone. They show puffy shirts for everyone and Fandango gives it to Booker.Booker says you have to dress like a champ, not some reject from the Pirates of the Caribbean. He blows his nose in the shirt and asks if you can dig it.
Nikki Bella vs. Carmella
Nikki Bella is out first as we go to commercial.
– We are back with John Cena’s debut against Kurt Angle and the vote of confidence by The Undertaker.
Carmella is finally out and we have our next match!
Lock up and Carmella pushes Nikki to the corner. Nikki fights back as they remained locked up. The referee breaks it up. Carmella with a “you can’t see me” taunt at Nikki. Carmella bails and Nikki chases her back inside the ring. Carmella cuts off Nikki with knees. Nikki with a big facebuster to her knee and a quick suplex on Carmella. Nikki catches Carmella with a dropkick. Carmella rolls out and blocks a baseball slide. Carmella twists Nikki around and drives Nikki down by her neck into the mat on the outside. Carmella starts bouncing the head of Nikki off the mat. Carmella is back in and Nikki rolls in.
Carmella chokes Nikki against the ropes and the referee breaks it up. Nikki with a roll up for two. Carmella catches Nikki with a superkick. Carmella drops elbows to the shoulders/neck of Nikki. Carmella with a headlock to keep Nikki grounded. Nikki lifts herself up with Carmella on her back and pushes Carmella to the corner. Carmella with some big elbows to Nikki in the corner. Carmella takes the back of Nikki going for a sleeper and Nikki breaks it up getting to the ropes. Carmella chokes Nikki with her boot in the corner. Carmella misses a Bronco Buster attempt when Nikki moves.
Both of them are down as we see RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte walking down the steps in the crowd with a ticket in hand. Charlotte waves at Nikki and takes a seat at ringside. Back to commercial.
Back live, Nikki with an Alabama Slam on Carmella as we see another shot of Charlotte at ringside. Nikki with a corner clothesline and springboard kick to Carmella. Carmella rolls out and Nikki tries to cut her off. Team RAW hits the ring and starts attacking Nikki.
Winner: No Contest
After the match, Team RAW also goes after Carmella when she returns to the ring. Nia Jax levels Carmella. Team Smackdown Live hits the ring featuring Natalya, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss and Naomi. Tons of brawling at ringside with the ladies. Jax is launching Natalya and Becky at ringside. Nia tries to charge at Becky, but Becky moves and Nia levels the ringside barricade. Naomi takes out members of Team RAW jumping off the top turnbuckle. Team Smackdown Live stands tall as Team RAW looks on from ringside.
– We see another shot of The Undertaker backstage as we go to commercial.
– Renee Young introduces a video package hyping Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar.
The Spirit Squad, The Ascension, The Vaudevillains and The Headbangers vs. The Usos, The Hype Bros, American Alpha and Breezango
We are back live as American Alpha double team Aiden English. Jordan is all over English as Jimmy Uso tags himself in. Jimmy with a superkick to Mikey who gets the tag. Tag to Jey Uso as both Usos double team Mikey in the corner. Mikey with a right and tags in Simon Gotch. Gotch with shots to Jey as Jimmy tags himself in. A loud “WE WANT SLATER” chant breaks out as we see Slater smiling at ringside cheering on his team. Tag to Mojo Rawley who works over the left arm of Gotch. Rawley plants Gotch with a scoop slam and a seated senton for a two count. Zack Ryder tags himself in. Ryder works over Gotch’s left arm and then drops him with a neckbreaker for a two count.
Tag back to Rawley who punches Gotch in the ribs. Gotch fights back with chops. Rawley fires himself up. Rawley with a big slap that drops Gotch. Tag back to Ryder who loses Gotch who tags in Viktor. A “WE WANT RHYNO” chant breaks out. Rhyno with a thumbs up to the crowd. Viktor works over Ryder on the bottom rope and eats a knee from Ryder in the corner. Ryder with a missile dropkick on Viktor and sends Viktor over the top rope with a clothesline. Ryder with a dropkick to Konnor on the outside (who dropped down) and Viktor cuts off Ryder at ringside. The rest of Team Smackdown Live drops down and goes face-to-face with the other teams at ringside. Time for another commercial.
We are back and Konnor Irish whips Ryder into the corner. Konnor knocks some people off the apron. Konnor runs into boots from Ryder and then he misses a shoulder in the corner. Gable and Mosh tag in and Mosh with a kick and slam. Thrasher goes up top but Gable with a superplex for a near fall. Jordan sends Thrasher over the top rope but Kenny and Mikey take care of Jordan. Breeze and Fandango take care of The Spirit Squad. More people go to the floor and the Usos with a stereo plancha. Gable and Jordan hit Grand Amplitude for the three count.

The Cutting Edge:
It is time for the Cutting Edge and Edge makes his way to the ring and he is introduced by Tony Chimmel, but first… We go to commercial.
We return live with Edge on the mic. “Man does that feel good!” Edge said he is excited not only for the return of the Cutting Edge, but because tonight is the 900th episode of Smackdown. He talks about bleeding blue and making this show. Edge says he has a vested interest in the Team RAW vs. Team Smackdown Live match this Sunday at Survivor Series. He wants to bring out Team Smackdown right now.
Team Smackdown Live (WWE World Champion AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Shane McMahon, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton) head to the ring with James Ellsworth.
Edge talks about watching Smackdown since the brand split and wants to shake the hand of the man that represents the brand the best. AJ Styles walks up to shake Edge’s hand and Edge stops then shakes the hand of James Ellsworth instead. Ellsworth suggests a five second pose and refers to Edge as one of the founding fathers of Smackdown.
Styles interrupts saying the five second pose is stupid. He reminds Edge he is the face that runs this place. “No one cares about Ellsworth. And no one cares about you either,” said Styles. He tells Edge to do his job and ask questions to people that actually matter on this team. Edge agrees and turns his attention to Randy Orton. He brings up Orton as his former partner on Team Rated-RKO. Edge asks Orton if he is even there. Bray Wyatt interrupts and says the world will see a very dangerous viper this Sunday.
Edge tells Shane McMahon he has his work cut out for him. A loud “SHANE O’MAC” chant starts up. Shane says no one has to like each other on this team, but everyone has to be on the same page on Sunday. He tells Styles he may be the face that runs the place, but this is “our team” and refers to Smackdown as the “money show.” Shane says Styles might be competing soon on Shane-O-Macdown. Styles calls that name stupid. He talks about being willing to co-exist with the hot head known as Dean Ambrose. Ambrose tells Styles he is coming after him at TLC after they win at Survivor Series. Styles said he agreed to play nice at Survivor Series, but maybe he won’t.
The Undertaker’s gong hits and the arena goes dark. Undertaker’s music hits as flames shoot up and smoke appears. The arena goes dark blue. The Undertaker is in the house in his first appearance since WrestleMania 32.
He makes his slow walk to the ring and eventually gets inside staring down Team Smackdown Live and Edge. Undertaker gets in the face of Shane McMahon. He backs off and has a mic in hand. Undertakers refers to Shane as being the man who has no fear in his role as Commissioner of Smackdown and gives him a tip of the hat. He talks about being here for two reasons: WrestleMania will no longer define who he is as he is back and ready to take some souls and dig some holes. Undertaker talks about being born at Survivor Series and Smackdown “has always been my home.” The crowd starts a loud “UNDERTAKER” chant. The second reason he is out here: at this year’s Survivor Series, he said the team has no reason to fear failure, “but if you fail…you will have reason to fear the Deadman.” Undertaker says Team RAW better “rest…in…peace.”
