WWE RAW RESULTS – SEPTEMBER 12, 2016

WWE RAW Opener:

We start off tonight’s show with a look back at week one of the Kevin Owens Show and the interaction between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.

– We are in Baltimore, Maryland and your announcers are Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and Corey Graves.

– Mick Foley is in the ring and he welcomes everyone to Raw. He says summer may be over, but things are heating up on Mondays with the first Raw exclusive pay per view in less than two weeks. We will find out if we will see Kevin Owens face Seth Rollins or Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Mick mentions the Backlash pay per view and the crowning of their first women’s champion, Becky Lynch. Mick says that he thinks the women on Raw are the best in the WWE. Mick brings out the Women’s Champion Charlotte, and she is joined by Dana Brooke.

We see what happened last week when Charlotte lost to Becky Lynch in a non-title match. We also see Dana getting slapped by Charlotte and Sasha’s announcement that was interrupted by Dana Brooke.

Mick thanks Charlotte for being here and Charlotte says it is good to see Mick. Charlotte says she has something to get off her chest. She says that after last week, an apology is in order. Dana says Charlotte does not owe an apology. Charlotte says she would never apologize to Dana. She asks if Dana knows how embarrassing it is to lose to Bayley. Charlotte says that she is going to get the record books to reflect that Dana lost. She mentions what happened with Sasha Banks. She tells Dana to apologize or their friendship and apprenticeship is over. Mick reminds Charlotte that Clash of Champions will see every title defended…

Sasha Banks makes her way to the ring. She says she is the face of the women’s division and the only legit boss of the WWE. She says you are looking at the woman who is going to take the title back at Clash of Champions.

Bayley’s music plays and she comes to the ring. Bayley says she would love to see Sasha compete for the championship tonight, but she reminds everyone that she beat Charlotte so maybe the person who deserves the title shot is… her. Sasha tells Bayley they go way back and Bayley had her back at Battleground, but when it comes to the title, she has no friends. She tells Bayley to get to the back of the line because they have unfinished business.

Charlotte says they took care of things at SummerSlam. Charlotte says she is the only champion in the ring and Sasha does not dictate when Charlotte defends her title.

Mick says Charlotte is right about Sasha not saying who defends the title, but Charlotte does not either. Charlotte says that Sasha does not belong in the ring with her. Charlotte says she agrees. Dana says Sasha and Bayley should be fighting over who should face Charlotte and maybe in a best of seven series.

Charlotte tells Dana to stop talking. Mick says Charlotte will face the winner of tonight’s match between Sasha Banks and Bayley at Clash of Champions.

Charlotte tells Dana it is all her fault and then Dana slaps Charlotte. Mick says that it is a Triple Threat Match and it will also include Dana Brooke. That match is next. Foley’s music hits as Charlotte and Dana have words. Charlotte leaves the ring holding her face as we go to commercial.

– We are back and Charlotte is with the announcers.

Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley in a Number One Contenders Match

Dana pushes Bayley down and punches Sasha and Becky. Dana sends Sasha to the mat and chokes her in the corner. Dana kicks Bayley off the apron and Dana chokes Sasha in the ropes. Sasha sends Dana into the turnbuckles and kicks her. Sasha with kicks and a slap. Sasha with a snap mare for a near fall.

Dana sends Sasha to the floor. Bayley with a rollup and then she sends Dana into the turnbuckles. Bayley gets a near fall and then she hits a clothesline and knee drop for a near fall on Dana.

Bayley with an arm bar. Dana with forearms and a reversal on the wrist lock. Bayley with an arm drag into an arm bar. Bayley takes Dana back to the mat and Bayley holds on to the arm bar. Sasha pulls Dana to the floor and then Bayley and Sasha with a double hip toss to Dana when she interrupts their moment in the ring. We go to commercial.

We are back and Dana works on Bayley’s back. We see footage from the break when Dana send Sasha into the apron to work on the back. Bayley with forearms but Dana with a forearm and she gets Bayley on her shoulders. Sasha with a sunset flip on Dana for a near fall. Sasha with forearms to Dana. Sasha puts Dana on the ropes and then she puts Bayley on the ropes. Sasha hits the double knees on Dana when Bayley moves. Bayley with a cross body for a near fall. Dana with a double clothesline to Sasha and Bayley. Dana with a series of near falls on Bayley and Sasha. Dana punches Sasha and sends her into the turnbuckles. Dana sends Bayley into the turnbuckles. Dana with shoulders and she puts Bayley on the turnbuckles.

Dana with forearms and she goes for a superplex but Sasha comes under and hits a tower of doom. Sasha gets a near fall on Dana. Sasha with clotheslines to Dana followed by a drop kick. Dana has a kick blocked by Sasha and Sasha with a kick and she goes for the lungblower but Dana holds on to the ropes. Dana hits the lungblower and floats over into the Banks Statement and Bayley kicks Sasha before Dana taps out.

Bayley with a belly-to-belly suplex on Dana for a near fall but Sasha breaks up the cover and gets a small package on Bayley for the three count.

Winner: Sasha Banks

– We are reminded that Cesaro won match four last week in London. Match five of the Best of Seven Series is later tonight. We go to commercial.

– We are back and Dana Brooke is walking in the back. She is confronted by Charlotte and she apologizes. Charlotte tells her to shut up and get her bags.

Backstage:

Epico and Primo are trying to push timeshares in Puerto Rico to R Truth. Truth asks about taking Little Jimmy. They say that if you make a one time payment, you can take whoever you want. Truth leaves before they can finish the sale.

They turn around and Colin and Enzo show up. Colin calls them con men. Epico says that they beat Enzo and Colin last week. Enzo says Epico and Primo cheated last week.

Backstage:

Tom Phillips is in the interview area with Kevin Owens. Kevin asks Tyler how things are. Tyler asks Kevin about his match against Roman Reigns. Kevin says he was there when the match was made. He asks Tyler if he should say something controversial. Should he say that Triple H trusts him more than Seth Rollins? Should he say that Roman Reigns should never be in the same ring as him? Should he says that Mick Foley was never better than his mentor Triple H? He tells Terry that it will not be a Triple Threat match at Clash of Champions and he will win at Clash of Charmpions.

Chris Jericho shows up and he says that if Terry wasn’t such a hack journalist he would realize the problem was that Kevin Owens was put into the match against Roman Reigns and pulled from the Highlight Reel. Chris says he will have Kevin’s former best friend Sami Zayn and he will show the true Sami Zayn and that he is a… Stupid Idi-IT.

– Bo Dallas comes to the ring and we go to commercial.

Bo Dallas vs. Brandon Scott

Bo with a kick and knees but he is sent to the floor when Brandon moves. Brandon with a drop kick and he goes for a splash but Bo catches him and hits a belly-to-belly slam. Bo with a gutbuster and a second one. Bo with a third gutbuster. Bo with a clothesline. Bo with Roll The Dice for the three count.

Winner: Bo Dallas

We go to commercial.

Jericho’s Highlight Reel:

We are back and it is time for the Highlight Reel with Chris Jericho.

Chris says this was supposed to be the greatest Highlight Reel because it would have had the man who Tom Cruise would have played in the movie about his life, or Brad Pitt. He is talking about his best buddy and the longest reigning Universal Champion Kevin Owens. Mick Foley ruined it by putting Kevin in a match against Roman Reigns. Jericho says when you have the highest of the high, you have to go the other way and the lowest of the low. Jericho lies down on the carpet and introduces Sami Zayn.

Sami thanks Chris for the great introduction and Jericho asks if he should sing Ole Ole Ole. The crowd sings Ole.

Jericho says that intro was worthy of Sami. There is a reason why Owens dumped you and does not look at you in the back. He asks Sami if he has Kevin’s phone number and Jericho says he has it and he won’t give it to Sami. Jericho says he wants to know what happened. It had to be Sami’s fault.

Sami asks if Jericho really brought him out to talk about Kevin. The only thing he cares about is the Universal title and he will have it some day. If you want to bring Kevin up. If he is your best friend and your brother, you truly are a stupid idiot.

Jericho tells the people to be quiet. He says that Zayn is like all of them. He is rude and a name caller. He says that Sami is a taker while Jericho says he is a giver. He is giving all of the heathens what they want and need. Sami tells Chris the gift of Jericho sucks. He says the only gift that Kevin gave him was showing him his true colors. Kevin only cares about himself.

Jericho says that Sami is jealous. He is jealous that Kevin Owens is the longest reigning Universal Champion. Sami wants to know if any shred of the old Chris Jericho is there. It was because of Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, and Eddie Guerrero that they are doing this. It is because you are craftsmen. You are a six time World Champion and the first Undisputed Champion. Now you are Kevin Owens’ bitch.

Jericho asks Sami if he really believes that. Jericho says he got a text from Kevin Owens telling him what to expect from Sami. Jericho says he will show Sami the text and hits him with the phone and then hits a Codebreaker.

– We are back and Sheamus was asked about Cesaro winning last week. Sheamus says Cesaro got lucky once. The key is consistency. He only needs one more win to send the Swiss Miss back to the mountain while he would get a title opportunity.

Sheamus vs. Cesaro (3-1) in Match Five of the Best of Seven Series

They lock up and Sheamus with a forearm to the back. They lock up and Cesaro with a forearm. Sheamus with a kick and Cesaro with a clothesline for a near fall. Cesaro goes for the Gotch Style Neutralizer but Sheamus backs Cesaro into the turnbuckles and connects with forearms. Sheamus with an Irish whip and shoulder into the corner. Sheamus with another Irish whip and another shoulder in the corner. Sheamus with a third one but Cesaro with a European uppercut and he tries for the Sharpshooter but Sheamus gets to the ropes and the floor.

Cesaro with a seated splash off the apron and then he hits a running European uppercut. Cesaro gets a near fall when the return to the ring. We go to commercial.

We are back and Sheamus has Cesaro on his shoulder for a back breaker but Cesaro escapes. Sheamus with a knee lift. Sheamus with a forearm to the lower back and then he connects with a forearm to the back. Sheamus with a third forearm to the back. Cesaro wtih forearms and then he blocks being sent into the turnbuckles. Cesaro sends Sheamus into the turnbuckles and punches Sheamus. Cesaro goes up top and hits a European uppercut to stop Cesaro. Sheamus goes for a superplex and Cesaro knocks him off. Cesaro with punches from the turnbuckles followed by a kick and cross body for a near fall.

Sheamus and Cesaro go back and forth with European uppercuts. Cesaro wtih an Irish whip but Sheamus grabs Cesaro and hits a Finlay Slam and gets a near fall. Sheamus goes for the Cloverleaf and Cesaro with a rollup for a near fall. Cesaro with the springboard corkscrew European uppercut and a near fall. Cesaro with a Sharpshooter and Sheamus gets to the ropes. Cesaro with the giant swing, but he can only get him around a few times. Sheamus with a rollup for a near fall. Sheamus with a uranage back breaker for a near fall. Cesaro with a rollup and his foot against the ropes to get the extra leverage and the three count.

Winner: Cesaro (2-3)

After the match, Sheamus is upset as Cesaro celebrates with fans at ringside. We get replays.

Backstage:

Mick Foley is in his office with Seth Rollins. Seth says he has a bone to pick with him. He says he thought he was on the same page as Mick. Mick kept him from being suspended and gave him a title match. He wants to know why Roman.

Mick says that Roman was wronged.

Seth says there is no comparison. Seth says he is the man and you would know it if you binge watched the WWE Network. Seth says he does not want any distractions and get his hands on the title. If Mick is not going to do anything about it, maybe we should talk to Stephanie.

Mick says that Stephanie is in Singapore and all Stephanie cares about is wins over Smackdown. Seth says he will take things into his own hands. Mick tells Seth not to question his integrity and he wants Seth to say that he won’t interfere. Seth says if Mick is going to continue to support Stephanie, you are a fool. We go to commercial.

– We are back and it is official for Clash of Champions. Sami Zayn faces Chris Jericho.

– Tom Phillips is with Nia Jax and he asks her about dealing with Alicia. Nia says she has dealt with wackos and she does not do crazy. She will continue to beat up Alicia until she gives up or cannot get up.

Alicia Fox vs. Nia Jax

Nia pushes Alicia to the mat and then runs her into the turnbuckles. Nia runs Alicia into the corner and connects with shoulders. Alicia with a forearm and she goes to the turnbuckles but Nia pushes Alicia to the floor. Nia goes to the floor and Alicia with a boot to the head and she climbs on Nia’s back and chokes her. Nia backs Alicia into the ring post. Nia swings Alicia into the ringside barrier a few times. Nia tosses Alicia by the hair.

Nia with a huge spear through the ringside barrier. The referee checks on Alicia.

Winner: Nia Jax (by referee stoppage)

Officials tell Nia she needs to leave. Nia walks to the back and we go to commercial.

– Back from the break and we see what just happened to Fox. Cole says she was helped out of the arena and is being evaluated.

In the Arena:

We go to the ring and out come WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day. Kofi Kingston apologizes for the “Old Day” segment Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson put on last week. The segment leads to Gallows and Anderson coming out with a few words before we get a SummerSlam non-title match. Back to commercial.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston

Anderson and Woods start things off and Anderson with forearms and then Woods with a float over and drop kick. Woods with a near fall. Woods with an arm bar and he connects with elbows to the arm to the tune of “New Day Rocks”. Kofi tags in and he kicks Anderson and Woods with a sliding D. Kofi with a knee drop and Woods with an elbow off the turnbuckles. Kofi comes off the turnbuckles and gets a near fall. Kofi with an arm bar and Gallows tags in and he connects with a shoulder tackle. Gallows goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Kofi lands on his feet and he kicks Gallows and hits a springboard cross body for a near fall.

Gallows sends Kofi over the top rope and Anderson tags in. Anderson punches Kofi and kicks him. Gallows tags in and Anderson sends Kofi into the ring and Gallows with a boot and elbow drops. Kofi with punches but Gallows with a clothesline. Anderson tags in and he runs his forearm across the face. Anderson with a leaping boot in the corner. Anderson with a reverse chin lock. Anderson sends Kofi into the corner but Kofi kicks Gallows. Anderson catches Kofi and hits a spinebuster for a near fall. Gallows tags in and kicks Kofi off the apron.

The referee makes his count and Kofi struggles to get back into the ring but he beats the count. Gallows runs Kofi into the corner and Anderson tags in and drops Kofi gut first onto Gallows’ knee. Anderson chokes Kofi. Anderson with a knee drop and he gets a near fall. Anderson sends Kofi into the turnbuckles and Gallows tags back in and he punches Kofi. Gallows with a slam. Gallows misses an elbow drop and both men are down. Woods and Anderson tag in and Woods with forearms and a discus forearm. Woods puts Anderson into the ropes and Woods with a hesitation drop kick. Woods knocks Gallows off the apron and then Woods with an Honor Roll for a near fall.

Woods goes for a suplex and Anderson blocks it and punches Woods. Woods with a forearm and Anderson fires back. They continue to go back and forth. Woods with a series of forearms and Anderson with an uppercut. Woods with an enzuigiri and a springboard DDT. Woods goes up top and hits an elbow drop but Gallows breaks up the cover. Kofi is met with a super kick as he comes off the ropes. Woods with a super kick to Gallows but Anderson with a flying boot followed by Magic Killer for the three count.

Winners: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

Roman Reigns is walking in the back and Tom Phillips asks Roman about his match against Kevin Owens. Roman says the only thing in his head is getting to Clash of Champions and winning the Universal title. The only way he does it is by kicking KO’s ass. We go to commercial.

– We are back and Michael Cole talks about the finals of the Cruiserweight Classic on Wednesday and the cruiserweights will be on Raw starting next Monday. They talk about how we will see new things with the cruiserweights.

– Jinder Mahal makes his way to the ring and he is introduced as a man who comes in peace.

Jinder says he has not had a chance to explain his absence. He says he felt hate and rage towards everyone. Jinder says he has learned to let that all go. He has trekked in the Himalayas and he has been at the monasteries and he has found peace. He wants everyone to have inner peace.

Jack Swagger vs. Jinder Mahal

Mahal gets on his knees and he connects with a head butt and forearms. Mahal with a back elbow. Mahal chokes Swagger in the ropes and kicks the ropes and then drops a series of knees on Swagger. Mahal punches Swagger and Swagger goes to the floor. Swagger with a back elbow and punches. Back in the ring, Mahal hits a Harley Race knee for a near fall. Mahal with a drop kick to the back of the head for a near fall.

Mahal with a quarter nelson and chin lock. Swagger punches Mahal and hits a back body drop. Mahal misses a splash into the corner and Swagger with clotheslines into the corner followed by a belly-to-belly slam. Swagger with a back elbow and boots to Mahal. Swagger goes for a Swagger bomb and Mahal gets his feet up. Mahal with a flying neck breaker for the three count.

Winner: Jinder Mahal

– We see Enzo Amore and Big Cass backstage walking. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and Phillips catches up with Swagger backstage. Phillips mentions Swagger’s RAW contract expiring soon and Swagger just stares at him before walking off.

Enzo Amore vs. Epico

We go to the ring and out comes Enzo Amore and Big Cass with mics. The Shining Stars are out next.

Enzo with a head scissors and he punches Epico in the corner. Epico sends Enzo into the turnbuckles and follows with a hard Irish whip. Epico with a belly-to-back suplex and he holds on and hits a German suplex and then he finishes things off with a delayed vertical suplex. Epico gets a near fall. Epico with an Irish whip but Enzo with a boot. Epico with a rollup and a handful of tights for a near fall. Enzo with a jawbreaker and punches. Enzo punches Epico and then he hits a tornado DDT. Enzo goes up top and Primo gets on the apron to distract Enzo. Colin with a boot to Primo.

Epico with a suicide dive onto Colin and then Enzo with a cross body off the turnbuckles onto Epico. Enzo goes for a suplex but Primo grabs Enzo’s leg and Epico gets the three count.

Winner: Epico

After the match, The Shining Stars leave as Enzo looks shocked in the ring.

– Still to come, Owens vs. Reigns. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Kevin Owens walks in the back and he stops to talk to Seth Rollins. He tells Seth to remember what Foley said.

Seth says he wants Kevin to beat Roman tonight so their match can be one-on-one. Since Triple H is a coward and won’t show up on Raw, what better thing than to take the title from his golden boy.

Kevin says he won’t need luck. He says Roman won’t be in the match since he will beat him. Kevin says he would think that Seth would want Roman in the match since Roman did most of the work and you picked up the win. Isn’t that the way you did it. You had Roman, Dean, Kane, J&J Security, and Jon Stewart. Didn’t Triple H have your back, but Hunter found a better person to follow.

Since you came back, you let down Raw by letting Dean keep the WWE Title. You lost to Finn Balor who had one arm. Kevin says he won the title on his first chance. He says the motto should be rebuilt, redesigned, and replaced.

Mick tells Kevin to go to the ring. He tells Seth not to get involved in the match or there will be consequences.

Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens

We go to the ring and our first comes Roman Reigns. If he wins, he gets put into the main event at Clash of Champions. WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens is out next for this non-title match. Back to commercial.

Back from the break, he bell rings and Owens goes to the floor. Reigns follows and punches Owens and head butts and punches Owens. Reigns sends Owens into the ringside barrier and Owens with a chop. Owens kicks Reigns when he gets back into the ring. Owens with a punch and head butt but Owens forgot that Roman is Samoan.

Owens with a punch and back elbow. Owens with a near fall and punches. Owens wtih a forearm. Reigns with punches and forearms. Reigns with a kick and he goes for a clothesline but Owens goes to the floor. Reigns with a baseball slide and he goes to the floor. Reigns Irish whips Owens into the ringside barrier.

Owens sends Reigns into the ringside barrier and then he punches Reigns. Owens returns to the ring and so does Reigns. Reigns with a punch. Reigns with an Irish whip but Owens with a boot and Northern Lariat followed by a back senton for a near fall. Owens with a boot to the back. Owens with a kick to the back. Owens teases a kick but he returns to showcase his role as CHIN LOCK MASTER.

Reigns gets out of the hold with a back drop driver and both men are down. Reigns with two clotheslines and then he hits a flying clothesline. Reigns with a clothesline into the corner and then he hits another clothesline. Reigns sets for the Superman punch and Owens goes to the floor. Reigns comes off the steps for a Superman punch but Owens sees it coming and hits a super kick. Owens sends Reigns into the ring post as we go to commercial.

We are back and Owens returns to the reverse chin lock. Reigns gets a second wind. Reigns with punches and an Irish whip but Reigns misses a shoulder and Reigns hits the ring post and goes to the floor. Owens sends Reigns into the ringside barrier and the ring steps.

Suddenly Seth Rollins attacks Owens from behind and they call for the bell.

Winner: Kevin Owens (by disqualification)

Rollins continues to attack Owens and the referee tells Rollins to get off of him.

Mick yells at Rollins and he tells him that he asked him to do one thing and he wouldn’t do it. Mick says this match will not end like that. He tells them to restart the match.

Match Restarted

Owens sends Reigns into the ring steps. Owens tells Foley this is on him. Owens sets for the pop up power bomb but Reigns holds on to the ropes and punches Owens. They go back and forth. Owens with knees to Reigns and Reigns with a clothesline.

Reigns with Neverending Story to Owens and then he misses a boot. Reigns blocks a super kick and hits a Samoan drop for a near fall. Reigns kicks Owens in the corner. Reigns puts Owens on the turnbuckles and sets for a superplex.

Owens bites Reigns and knocks Roman off the turnbuckles. Reigns with a punch to Owens and Reigns goes for the superplex again. Owens with a fisherman’s buster from the turnbuckles for a near fall. Owens goes up top and hits a frog splash for a near fall.

Owens kicks Reigns in the ribs and pushes him into the turnbuckles. Reigns with a forearm and punch but Owens with a super kick. Owens mocks Reigns’ scream and misses a cannonball when Reigns moves. Reigns gets up first and he sets for the spear but Owens with a kick. Reigns with a Superman punch for a near fall. Owens rolls to the floor and Reigns follows. Reigns limps for a Juggernaut broad jump drop kick.

Reigns rolls Owens back in and Owens with a kick and super kick. Owens wtih a cannonball. Owens hits a second cannonball. Owens sets for the pop up power bomb and Reigns leaps over Owens and then hits a one arm sit out power bomb but Owens kicks out.

Rusev comes to the ring and Reigns with a Superman punch to Rusev and Owens with a pop up power bomb for the three count.

Winner: Kevin Owens

After the bell, Owens and Reigns recover as we go to replays. Owens takes his title to the ramp and brags. Rusev waits in the ring as Reigns tries to get up. Rusev floors Reigns with a big kick to the face as he tries to get up. Rusev beats on Reigns as we see Lana looking on from the ramp with the title. She points and Rusev stomps on Reigns, then applies The Accolade. RAW goes off the air with Rusev standing tall over Reigns.
