WWE Leaving German TV?, News and Notes on Tonight’s WWE Smackdown

– Tonight’s WWE SmackDown will take place from the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama with more build for the October No Mercy pay-per-view.

WWE has announced John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz with the title on the line for tonight’s show.

They are focusing on the following points for tonight:

* Will The Miz protest tonight’s title defense?

* Will the Cenation dismantle The Ambrose Asylum?

* Are the days numbered for SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater & Rhyno?

* SmackDown LIVE, prepare yourself for total ‘Bliss’

* How long can The Viper hold off Bray Wyatt?

– According to PWInsider.com, several German news outlets are reporting WWE’s current TV home in Germany, TELE 5 will not renew it’s current contract with WWE when it ends in March 2017. The decision was made despite the fact that Raw is one of the most successful shows on the network.

Additionally, General Manager and WWE VP Europe Stefan Kastenmüller has told local media that Smackdown might also be moving, as the current deal the show has with Pro7 Maxx also ends in March 2017.

Kastenmüller added WWE has a lot of interest from broadcast, digital and paid subscription channels in the German market and expects to sign a new deal shortly.
